Happy shopping !!

Going to NYC in May and I am so excited! What are some interesting places to go?

Hmmm...... you answered my question so answering yours is the least I can do :) I am happy to help so call me you're little helper, put it that way, LOL. Anyway, you can SHOP at the SOHO and window shop a little bit in every random (pr popular!) store you see, such as the following designers: Coach, Juicy, Louis Vuitton, Victoria's Secret, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, etc. If you can't afford it very much then just stick to the window part of window shopping. Yeah, M&M World sounds like fun, but I've never personally experienced it myself. However, you can also go into Candyland and Toys R Us because its worth the wait, including it won't be so full like when I went in December (Holiday Season, by the way). Hopefully, at least. Let's wait and see though. And you can go into Bloomingdales, some Broadway shows such as Mamma Mia, Legally Blonde, the classic and modest Mary Poppins, or whatever is in store that you would like to try. You can go into Swatch, and maybe also into the Mac (aka Apple) store, and check out the MAC store (the makeup one this time). And go to ChinaTown. Also eat fondue while you're at it. And you can also nightclub at night and hit a casino or another dance club and simply dance the night (and all of you're insecurities and doubts) away. You can chill and relax at the Spa or get you're nails done while you're there, during the day. And while you're at it, get the full treatment, and act high maintenance, if you aren't already. I am, though, I confess. Get the Mani-Pedi-Masasche Combo, and you're all set for the makeup, hair, facial, wax, or whatever, etc. Go buy makeup too and remember that you should feel ambitious and eat the most luxurious, sophisticated, glamourous food since you are "in the middle of the world," the center of attention and last but not least... "in the city that never sleeps." LOL, I apologize this is such a long response but there isn't a boundary or limit to words when it comes to such a powerful and meaningful subject in which I really feel the vibe of. <3333 XXX and good luck ;0)

EDIT - Oh, yeah and try H&M, the store. And possibly go to the museum of wax. It rocks! And go into.. American Apparel and check out the American Girl Place, its childish, the topic but the store is incredible and ah-mazing. Also, go to the Metropolitan Musuem of Art and go to one of those rock nighclub concerts. XXX And Forever21... and Urban. Also, RANDOM PLACES!

How is living in NYC like?

-Costs:
Apartments in Manhattan r very expensive. But the ones in Richmond, Brooklyn, Queens, and Bronx r cheaper.
Food is not so expensive.
Clothes aren't expensive either.
-Neighborhoods:
They r all good. But they r parts in a lot of parts in Bronx, few parts in Queens and Brooklyn that r not safe.
Manhattan is not so expensive, but they r few things that r expensive in it.
-Transportation:
Subways and buses r very good, they have a very nice service. But u have to pay in coins only or either with ur metro card.
Taxis depends on the fairs, but they r expensive and very good.
Walking is very nice on warm days, u get to see the city while walking.
-Weather:
From October to April there is very cold weather! U always have to dress very warmly
-Social life:
Social life is very good. Strangers ignore u but friends r very nice.
They r lots of good things to do and places to go out to, u never get bored.
-Universities:
They r cheap community colleges, and they r others that r more expensive. But if u have scholarship don't worry.
-Job opportunities:
If u keep on searching on a job, u will find one.
Good luck!

What is the best pet stores in Manhattan, New York to adopt puppies?

Your question doesn't make any sense. You don't “adopt” a puppy from a pet store, you buy a puppy.Likely a dog from a puppy mill or backyard breeder since no breeder would ever allow their dog to be sold in a pet store. Why? To attract more customers? They wouldn't have any reason too, there's enough demand in all of NYC for even a large scale breeder to sell their dogs. Plus that prevents breeders from vetting their customers and customers from vetting and meeting breeders to gain knowledge and understanding of a breed.Just go.to ACC of NYC in Manhattan, Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC). Or any other rescue group like Use Petfinder to Find Your Next Pet Zani’s Furry Friends and they can offer you a puppy, even a specific breed that's temper tested, spayed and neutered, up to date on vaccinations, receive lifetime support and WON’T benefit puppy mills, all for under $300, compared to pet stores that charge $800-$1600 for a unvaccinated, unspayed/neutered dog coming from questionable circumstances.Read this article on NYC pet stores I bought a sick dog from NYC’s high-end ‘puppy mill’ chainThis hides………………………..THIS

Where is the best place to find (legal) handbag bargains in Manhattan?

If you don't have to stay in Manhattan proper and you want guaranteed authenticity of your designer bag(s), the place I like best is Woodbury Commons.  It's a designer mall located outside of Manhattan with regularly scheduled transportation from Penn Station or Grand Central (No, they don't pay me but they should!). You will have the a pick of the best designer bags from the premier designers in the world, including:Bottega VenettaChloeDiorGucciPradaFerragamoValentinoYves Saint LaurentAs an ex-Vuitton employee and Hermes collector, LV never goes on sale so the only way to get it "on discount" would be at a consignment shop.  Hermes has twice-a-year sales in Paris and in their free-standing stores for their regular customers; those are the only sales that they have.As far as consignment stores in Manhattan, there are a few good ones but they are still relatively expensive (and for the 25% off, I'd rather buy at the boutique and guarantee myself an authentic piece).  The following carry a pretty good selection; you can shop some of these stores online but it's best to go to the store because a lot of these items hit the sales floor before being listed on EBay, etc.  But if there's a style I know I can't get in the boutique, was a special edition, or is discontinued, I'll bite the bullet and go to:1. Michael's (Madison Ave, Upper East side):  A decent selection of Vuitton, Chanel.2. Second Chance (one on Lexington on the Upper East Side, another on Prince Street in the South Village): Always an amazing selection of bags including Hermes, Chanel, Vuitton, Prada.  Prices are still relatively high, salespeople are not the friendliest.  But the bags are...aahhhh.3. Edith Machinist (on Rivington, lower East Side): A nicely curated selection of vintage bags.  Sometimes they have designer, more often than not they just have nice, almost new, vintage bags.  so if you're a label snob this place may not entirely appeal to you, even though the aesthetic might. If you really want to root around, there are great thrift stores all around the city, too.  Treasures are few and far between, though.
