Best Breeds Of Dog For Working And Studying Family

Suggested Dog Breed for Family?

Hello.

I am really wanting to get a dog, and I thought it would be great to get the dog for my mom's coming up birthday as a really impressive and great gift (she will be turning 50). We've been researching dog types for some 3 months now, and there are so many breeds and different details to the breeds that we cannot agree to what we want.

Background of my family. We're a family of three, my parents and I, me being 16. We have two cats. Our cats can easily get associated with a dog, i am sure of it, although the start will be a little awkward/rough for them (as to be expected) so we were aiming to get a puppy. This way they can get associated and become good friends. :) The cats shouldn't be a problem, but then the dog needs to get along with our cats.

My mom wants a dog on the smaller side, so does my dad. However, my mom has been suggesting King Charles and Cockalier Spaniels. Not to be rude, but I want a dog that is kind of cool. For me, the main thing I want is for our dog to be smart and the big requirement is for me to be able to go running with our dogs. Jumping is a no no, but my research has led to the main reason of jumping being excitement and such, but if it is a jumping type of dog we won't be that happy.

The dog can't have big health problems. We don't need a dog with kidney issues and such, so we don't want a dog with such issues typically.

We will get our dog from a breeder, keep that in mind. Thanks for reading this question. I know it's really long, but to get a serious answer you need all the facts and details.

I was thinking Black Lab or Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, but I don't know what would be the perfect fit for our quiet little family.

We live in PA, by the way. :)

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME! I really appreciate it.

Which breed of dog is best suited for a vegetarian family?

I have a Labrador. The ‘white coloured’ living organism in this picture is a LABRADOR , the other living being is NOT.Anyways, LABRADOR RETRIEVERS are really cool people, they become vegetarians if you give them broccoli and they become non vegetarians if you give them chicken. My lab is a non-vegetarian. He's madly in love with the shape of chicken.Labs aren't fussy about what you give them, but they do demand your attention, as my lab never eats on his own, but he always needs someone to make him eat with their hands. The vet of my lab said that he's a very innocent dog, he won't even smell chicken, if you don't want him to.

What is your favorite breed of dog?

Since I don’t own a dog yet, the below choices are based on pure imagination and face value. I am sure when I am ready to adopt and take care of a dog, I will take more factors into consideration. :)At least I will have a record of my choices with this question. Im a loner looking for a dog...what breed!!!!?

So I'm a loner. I don't hang out wth friends, I just text them.I hang out with just family around my age to hangout and go places. I go out alone too. To watch movies, run errands, volunteer at places. I'm also home school but I have siblings around my age that go to public school. Ya, you get the point. (TMI lol)
Well, I have been in love with dogs ever since I can remember. Studying them ALOT. I have experience with dogs as I volunteer with them. I have extra time on my hands and I think a dog would be perfect. I have money to care for it and experience handling. Just what breed....
Here's what I want:
•protective
•large (60+lbs)
•intelligent
•medium energy level
•really close and loving to family
•has a noble look to him
•can go camping and outdoor activities in almost any weather.
• not too many health problems
•one that likes to work
•one that is known for getting hooked to on person
•usually good with cats
I was thinking a german shepherd...
I also forgot to say I have a big back yard and a dog park nearby. And I understand that a German shepherd doest fit some of those things but from what I've read it sound really close to what I would like. Shedding and drool in isn't important to me. Just a loving loyal dog.

Which dog breed is the hardest to have as a pet?

I currently own one German Shepherd but my family helps me take care of it. Other than the German Shepherd I have not really owned a dog before. Overall it is a pretty fun dog to have as a pet and I like it a lot, I am kind of set on owning that one breed exclusively my whole life.

Now as of late I have had this curiosity of trying out one of the "Spitz" dog breeds like the Husky and I heard they are really tough to own as pets.

I am wondering, which dog breed is the hardest to take care of and have as a pet? Like which one is most likely to drive its owners crazy.
