Best Scenic Locations In Thailand

Comparison between Langkawi(Malaysia), Phuket(Thailand) and bali(Indonesia) as honeymoon location??

I have never been to Langkawi, but I've been to Phuket and Bali (I'm from Indonesia). I personally like Phuket more just because the 'James Bond' islands are such an incredible nature. I think both are very tourist friendly (don't have to worry about finding decent accomodation, etc). But i definitely would recommend doing some more research, look at different websites and opinions. Have fun!

What's the best beach in Thailand (isthmus)??

My wife and I are taking a trip to southeast Asia in September; we're landing in Singapore, catching a train to Kuala Lumpur and then to Bangkok. I've heard so much of Thailand's beaches and wanted to therefore visit one on my way to Bangkok. The train will go through Hat Yai and Surat Thani before arriving to Bangkok.

I'm considering catching a bus from Hat Yai and going to Krabi for a day/night, and then catch another bus up to Surat Thani and continue my trip.

So does Krabi have the best or one of the better beaches in Thailand? I've heard so much about Phuket, but didn't want to spend too much time traveling further if not necessary.

I guess what I'm really looking for is a beach that has the nice sand, turqouise waters, but more importantly, the scenic stones that rise from the ocean; does this sound familiar? Any help or advise is appreciated.

Also, if anybody knows how long the ride is from Hat Yai to Krabi... Thanks in advance.
