1. Small things, obviously! It depends on what type of microscope. But it would be a few microns (micrometers) in thickness under the x100 oil immersion objective to a few millimeters under a dissection microscope. 2. You can figure this one out! You need your drawings to be an accurate record, so that when someone else comes to look at them, you will be providing good information about what you actually saw under the microscope that day. 3. It gives a better idea of the size of what you were looking at. Sometimes things can look much the same - a round blob might be a cell at 10x but a sub-cellular organelle at 100x. 4. These days, by digital camera taking a photo, then displayed on a computer or printed out.
