Birds Love Birds Do Not Get Along With

Do love birds get along with other types of birds?

Love birds are pretty common, you should be able to find one if you look around and be patient.

I keep love birds, parakeets and cockatiels together in an outdoor aviary and havent' had any issues. Your bird has been alone for quite some time though. If I were you I would opt for another love bird.

How do you care for lovebirds?

You take care of a lovebird the way you would with your own child. You make sure you protect him and provide the best environment for him to grow and live. You make sure you put in the work daily to include him as part of your life, not as a pet, but as your child and as a friend.Praise him daily for being a good and smart boy, talk to him gently about the times when he first arrived at your house and how you had loved him and will continue to love him.Kiss him frequently, as you would with your young child, if he is comfortable. Make sure you continue to love him throughout his 15–20 years. Many people have the misconception that pet-ownership is about Play, but pet-ownership is really about Responsibility, and it is a lot of work, with the cleaning and care-taking. You have to make sacrifices in your own life, especially your time, daily for 20 years, if you want to take the path of a pet-owner.Make sure to put in the work and keep the friendship with your lovebird buddy going. Do not give him reason to feel sad, cold, abandoned and agitated in a world he does not understand. To you, your lovebird may be only a small thing, but to him, you are everything.Give him reason to rub his beak on the side of your neck, to preen your hair, to nibble your earlobe - things that a lovebird does only when it is absolutely comfortable and happy with you.Cherish and value them, and you will enjoy having lovebirds in your life.I take my lovebirds outdoors on weekends because I feel guilty about leaving them in cages on weekdays when I have to go to work. Here are photos of my boy Chacko at the park, munchy veggie-bits and all,

How well do lovebirds and sun conures get along?

Hmmm...

Ive seen black caps and lovebirds in the same cage, but they are smaller. I would first see how they react to each other when they are in their cages. If it doesn't work you might have to arrange separate playtimes. Ive seen more mismatched birds get along before so i wouldnt be surprised but dont take any chances.

Hope I helped
=]

EDIT: Conures and Quakers are different birds BTW. It's called a quaker parakeet =]

Do lovebirds and cockatoos get along?

Are you kidding me? this HAS to be a joke question, look at the size of a lovebird and the size of a cockatoo, NO THEY CAN NOT BE PUT TOGETHER, even though the lovebird is small it thinks it is a pit bull and will stop at nothing to try and fight, the cockatoo just has to take one chomp and the little guy is done for. I can not believe that you would even THINK about doing this, they have different cage sizes for both birds if your Too is in the right size cage the bars are a hazard for the Lovebird. NO THEY CAN NOT BE TOGETHER, the lovebird can also bite the toes of your TOO. research please~~~

Why are my lovebird eggs not hatching?

The firsts thing to try is candling, it's where in a dim room you shine a candle or torch through the egg, this should allow you to see if it's fertile or not. If it is fertile then ether let the mother incubate them as this is the cheapest simplest method. Or buy an incubator and ensure the eggs are kept healthy

Do lovebirds and indian ringneck get along together?

I got a baby lovebird and a baby INR today. both have to be handfeed. I'm thinking to raise them together, may be put them in the same cage so they will get used to each other, but I don't know how these 2 species get along well together. Will they get attached to each other or hate each other? ANyone who has these 2 birds can say comment on this? Thank you!

Can 3 lovebirds live together?

Lovebirds are fine as a pair, but three is definitely a crowd.

Lovebirds are very territorial, and protective of their mates. Any extra bird in the cage during breeding season is at risk for attack.

If you want three lovebirds, get a second cage. Personally, I would recommend that you find a single lovebird - and not one that comes from a pet store. 99% get their animals from a broker, who buys them from huge breeding farms (like puppy mills). You'd have better luck with a small breeder, or rescue. Most hand-raise or hand-tame their birds and will help you choose a bird that's suitable for your situation.

You should be able to find breeders in your area by searching under Lovebird, Breeder and your area.

Check craiglist and petfinders, too.

Please remember to vet check, and quarantine (30-45 days) new birds - away from your bird, to prevent exposing it to disease or parasites.
