Black Moor Goldfish In Tropical Tank

Can i put Black Moore goldfish is tropical fish tanks?

I have ONE Black Moore goldfish and i want to know if when i get my tropical fishi can put my Black Moore goldfish in with them?? Because it saves me space (so i don't need to use 2) and it would just be cool but can i do this'??

Good tank mates for black moor goldfish?

I have a new 75 gallon aquarium with two Marineland Emperor 400 filters on the back. Hopefully that is enough filtration and space for a single goldfish and some tank mates! I purchased a goldfish I had been looking at for a while at my local fish store. My tank is fully cycled, and there are zero ammonia or nitrites. Nitrates are at 5.0. My goldfish is a black moor, and he seems quite lonely having the tank all to himself! I already have 3 mystery snails (just because I could not resist them!), so I would like to know any other tankmates that I could have for the goldfish and the snails. I would like to have some suggestions on unique fish, maybe even a little rare. Pretty would also be nice! Maybe some suggestions on schooling fish that the goldfish can't devour, and maybe some similar sized fish as the goldfish. I know that most fancy goldfish should be kept with other fancies because of poor eyesight and the fact that they swim very slowly, so it would be nice if I didn't have to hear that! I am willing to spend the extra time to make sure my goldfish gets food, even if it makes things more complicated. Also, I know about white clouds as a good schooling fish, but would like to have other suggestions. Any kind of hardy tropical might work too, because my tanks temperature is in the mid seventies. And, please do not tell me that that temperature is too high for a goldfish, because I have done my research and have found several goldfish owners that keep their fish at high temperatures, and they live very long lives. Unless you have the EXACT reason as to why high temperature harms them, and you have PROOF as to why this is true, then please do not tell me I shouldn't keep goldfish.
Sorry this is so long, I am just trying to make sure I get helpful answers.
Thank you!

I have two black moor goldfish in a 100 gallon tank. What else can I add?

First, you should add some water!OK…not such a good joke. You definitely want to avoid any kind of fish that will pick at, establish territories that it/they will fight over, or that require significantly different water quality factors than your goldfish. This would eliminate the majority of freshwater tropical fish. It definitely eliminates any of the cichlids, even though they might add color and interest to your tank. Why not add more “fancy” goldfish that are delicate, slow, and prone to damage like these Black Moors can be? Bubble-Eyes, lion heads, and some of the larger-finned orandas come to mind. These fish all require the same conditions and care and none are aggressive or very physical in fish-to-fish interactions. Do not add koi. They are far too physical to be safe for your fish. I have seen a number of “fancy goldfish only” aquaria in my day and they can be stunningly beautiful. You can also try some bottom-dwelling fish that are tolerant of the cooler temperatures of your tank. There are a number of corydorus catfish that remain small, do not bother other fish, stay at or near the bottom, and form schools when you have around a dozen. Most corydorus cats do not need temperatures as high as many other tropical fish, so as long as the water is remaining at room temperature (mid 60s Fahrenheit or above), they’ll do fine.

Can i keep 2 black moor goldfish in a 20 gallon tank?

Hi I'm new to all this fish stuff I'm only a teen and id like to get my own fish tank instead of having a "family" tank its a tropical fish tank with all these fish that are just ok and kind of small but we've been having issues with it because anytime we asks questions at the pet stores (petco or petsmart) they always give us different answers. And with all the problems goon on with it they don't want to buy me my own tank. So I would of liked a 30 to 60 gallon tank so I can keep more fish like the telescope and moors but I need a stand since my room furniture isn't sturdy enough so I need a stand and the cheapest 20 gallon tank is 195$ which I still cant afford but I'm willing to get a job for so id really like to know if a 20 gallon tank is suitable for 2 black moor goldfish (sorry for sorta throwing all that on you lol just some people on here can be sorta mean bout this stuff)

Can I keep Tetra / Goldfish / Black moor / Koi in same tank?

No.

Tetras are tropical fish. Goldfish/Black Moor (a fancy Goldfish)/Koi are all large coldwater fish. The larger fish would eat the smaller fish and that's only the tip of the iceberg in the long list of why they're not compatible!

In the 40g, I would recommend the tropical set up with the Tetras - no Goldfish/Koi at all.

Common/Comet Goldfish should not be mixed with fancies like the Black Moor anyway, they can cause the more delicate fancies fatal injuries and grow twice the size. In a 40g you can just about fit 2 fancies or one Comet (temporarily). Comets get 10"-12" excluding fins.

The Koi however is completely out of the question as they get between 2-3 FEET long and need a minimum of a 900-1000 gallon pond for one or a pair. They are STRICTLY pond fish, they are not suitable for narrow tanks at all.

Can goldfish eat tropical fish food?

Yes, goldfish can and will happily eat most foods intended for ‘tropical’ fish. The main difference between foods intended for the stable ‘warm-water’ aquarium and the unstable (unheated) ‘cold-water’ aquarium is the amount of protein which is included. Generally speaking, in warmer water the animal can metabolise more protein, resulting in less excretion of dissolved protein waste and less pollution overall (although not in all respects). So, the goldfish diet is very appropriate when the water is at a temperature of below 20 degrees C and down to about 10–12 degrees C as it’s highly digestible and meets the basic nutritional requirements of the goldfish. But, the goldfish is frequently kept indoors at a higher temperature (because the tank is thermally unstable and the house is very warm), one which frequently qualifies as the lower edge of ‘tropical’. At these temperatures, not only will the goldfish happily eat the tropical foods, but its body will actually use the ingredients efficiently. This is very similar to the notion of having Summer, Spring and Winter foods for koi and goldfish in the garden pond; at different temperature ranges the animal will use different nutritional profiles more or less efficiently, resulting in the minimum pollution if you feed correctly for the temperature.Health-wise, tropical foods are just great for goldfish at 20–22 degrees C or over. Just be aware that, like all fishes, goldfish are prone to be picky about what they like the taste or smell of and may refuse some foods if they just don’t like them.

Is a 2 gallon tank big enough for one black moor goldfish?

I'm going to assume you made a typo in your answer and meant to ask “Is a 20 gallon tank big enough for one black moor goldfish”.The answer is that while 20 gallons is a bit on the small side, you could keep a single adult black moor goldfish happy in there if you put in the extra work to keep it clean. It's important to have a good filter since goldfish make a lot of waste.Ideally though, you should go for a 30 gallon aquarium and get two goldfish since they are happier with a friend. Make sure to stick to the smaller fancy goldfish (fantails/telescopes) since common goldfish like comets and shububkins will get far too big for a 30 gallon tank. Now if you do actually have a two gallon tank the answer is an absolute no. Nothing can be happy in a tank that small except maybe some small shrimp and snails. The goldfish you see in the stores are just babies and will get much, much bigger unless they are severely neglected. That's where the myth that goldfish grow to the size of their tank comes from, since most people keep their goldfish in cruel conditions, they tend not to grow properly. This stunting can be observed in other animals including humans who are badly abused.

How much should black moor goldfish eat?

Definitely don't overdo it with the flakes or pellets,i would say one small pinch a day.Every other day give him a pea or two depending on his size, try some blanched spinach, courgette and as a treat you can give them bloodworms.Don't feed the flakes or pellets on the days you feed him veggies. They definitely do need vegetables in there diet to help there whole digestive system. If you are new to fish keeping please look up the nitrogen cycle otherwise your fish will have a very miserable life.Goldfish are amazing.

Would a black moor goldfish eat a kuhli loach?

I have a black moor goldfish in a 25 gallon tank (the tank was originally built for reptiles, not fish) and currently it's just gravel and fake plants with a filter and heater. I plan on re-doing this setup this weekend and move the black moor into a temporary 10 gallon tank. The temp tank will have the same water as the 25 gallon tank, and the same filter as the large tank had an algae outbreak and needs a thorough scrubbing.

When I'm done with the cleanup, I plan to create a planted tank with anubias and large round stones forming what mimics a riverbed. There would be plenty of hiding places, and I know loaches can be kept singularly, so my question is would my goldfish eat my loach if I got one? My goldie is pretty big, a little over 7 inches including the tail. If this won't work would a few cory catfish work?

The tank temp is kept around 74 degrees, which works for many types of tropical fish, so please don't tell me goldfish are coldwater. Black moor and a few other types of fancy goldfish like warmer waters.

While cleaning the tank, my black moor goldfish fell from my fishnet directly to the ground and one eye just went small. What should I do?

The bulbous eye of the Black moor can easily get damaged. In your case there isnt much to do and i would only trust Nature and let it do its thing. I would suggest keeping the fish in a separate tank with good filtration. Maintain good water parameters, give it a good diet, have patience and hope for the best ! With time the eye should heal. You should also keep a watch for any eye disease that may develop. Different diseases that could develop areWhite cotton like growth that covers the entire eye of the goldfishCloudy iris is caused by a bacterial infection.Entire eye of goldfish becomes cloudy could be caused by flukes; a parasite.Translucent film over the eye could be caused by a bacterial infection.Translucent film over the goldfish’s eye and parts of the body could be a protozoan infestation. These diseases can be treated by the use of Forma Green, API Melafix etc. You can search on the web for more details. All the best and thanks for the a2a!!
