Bleach Characters With American Names

Why do some anime change characters name?

In Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh they changed the Japanese names into english. Ash was Satoshi, May was Haruka...
Then theres anime like Bleach and Naruto where they dont change the Japanese names and keep it as it is.
Why is that?

Bleach characters with american names?

Bleach characters have a range of names from different parts of the world unlike most anime. All the hollows have english words as their names eg. 'Grand Fisher' and 'Acid ____' whilst all the arrancars have spanish names 'Ulquiorra, Starrk, Grimmjows, Murcielego etc. and the Quincy attacks have German names. The soul reapers have Japanese names. etc. etc.

What do these bleach characters names mean?

They don't mean anything on their own, but the kanji that are used to write them have meanings.

一護 (ichigo) = first defense ("ichigo" is also the word for "strawberry")
ルキア (rukia) = has no meaning, because it's not written with kanji
恋次 (renji) = second love / next love
啓吾 (keigo) = enlighten me
乱菊 (rangiku) = pattern made from chrysanthemums with disordered petals, esp. used on family crests
冬獅郎 (toushirou) = winter lion follower
桃 (momo) = peach
藍染 (aizen, not aisan) = indigo dye
一角 (ikakku) = superior
弓親 (yumichika) = intimate bow (like "bow and arrow")
白哉 (byakuya) = white alas!
ウルキオラ (urukiora, "ulquiorra") = doesn't mean anything
泰虎 (sado) = large tiger
雨竜 (uryuu) = rain dragon
織姫 (orihime) = woman textile worker (though the two kanji separately mean "weaver princess")

Kian is, as far as I can tell, not a Japanese name. I have no idea what it means.

Should my manga characters have Japanese names?

...i'm writing a manga story and i'm stuck on wether or not my characters should have Japanese names or French and German names!!! I noticed that all of the big time manga/anime characters all have Japanese names (like Naruto and Bleach)... my story is also in the same genre as Naruto and Bleach too. So what should I do? I feel like if I trully want my manga to become HUGE I should use Japanese names...

Please tell me your opinions and reasons for telling me your answer!!! And please don't mention that I could use Japanese, French and German names because I just want to use either Japanese alone or French and German names together.

Is yoruichi from the anime bleach african american or hispanic?

Yoruichi Has a Japanese first, and last name. She's obviously a brown skinned Japanese woman. They DO exist for crying out loud. Every country has a brown skinned whatever race. It's called "crossbreeding". Look it up :p (I'm being silly but realistic).

What Zanpakto would you use if you were a character in Bleach?

Which Zanpakuto? Most hopefully mine, but if I had to use someone else’s they would be…Ichibē Hyōsube’s.Ichimonji is a Zanpakuto that halves the power or whatever it cuts, before Shikai. After Shikai, whatever it cuts or brushes over loses it’s name and all of its power. What does Ichimonji use as ink? All the black in the world. All of the black that has ever existed and will exist. The shadows of the past and the nights of the future all fuel this Zanpakuto. His Bankai is Shirafude Ichimonji; using this means he redefines his opponent, reworks them until they are powerless.Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto’s.Zanka no Tachi:Burn in hell.Sōsuke Aizen’s.Kyōka Suigetsu:Complete and perfect hypnosis.Byakuya Kuchiki’s.Senbonzakura;Be enveloped in blades and despair.

What anime do Americans like?

Oh, there are tons of anime that Americans enjoy, but here are the most enjoyed across the nation(discounting the ones popular to only anime fans who are Americans). The most popular anime here is definitely Pokemon:The reason for this is partly due to the games and trading cards which made the anime seem appealing. Another reason is probably all the cool pokemon, and all the appeal it has for kids. Not to mention, it’s just fun having so many ways to interact with it, which is why it is still going strong to this day. Here’s another show that’s popular in America. Most of the fame of these are very similar. In Sailor Moon’s and the big four(i.e Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Bleach) case, it was on Toonami. Toonami itself played on Cartoon Network which is how most people found out about anime at all.As for movies, Studio Ghibli is very popular in the United States, so popular in fact, that Disney sells it in Epcot. I actually got a My Neighbor Totoro bento from the shop. Not to mention, that Spirited Away was once the top grossing anime film in the US. Speaking of which, Your Name was advertised a lot and actually surpassed Spirted Away as the top grossing anime film(Shinkai's 'your name.' Tops Spirited Away as Highest Grossing Anime Film Worldwide).SAO is also quite popular in the states due to its concept and prevalence in streaming sites like Netflix. In fact, it earned a lot from Ordinal Scale earning 1 million in the box office the first week of its release(Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale Film Earns Over 2 Billion Yen).
