Bleached My Hair. Turned Brownish Orange. Can I Dye It Back To Dark

Can I dye my bleached hair dark brown again?!?

This is info on hair dye & bleach. If you semi or permanently dye or bleach your hair you have permanently changed your natural color until you grow it out. You have opened the hair strands cuticle and removed melanin (color). With dye you remove less, then you deposit new color. Bleach you remove more the lighter you go. Once you have dyed your hair you can only go darker or stay the same level but you can change the tone DYE WILL NOT LIFT DYE. Dye will only lift natural color 2 levels with 20 volume developer. Red fades easily the red molecules are different, it's the easiest color to fade but the hardest to get out, yes it confuses us all. Using 1/4 brown neutral with 3/4 of the red will help hold it also using a clear glaze will help maintain it. If you choose to go lighter then you have to bleach the dyed part to the level you want, not your roots at first or they will be way lighter, put on when hair level is similar to root color. Then put the desired color over your entire hair. Don't do your new growth until your dyed hair is almost where you want it or they will be too light. You can't get to ultra blonde without bleaching, there isn't enough lift in the developer you need 40 volume mixed with bleach. I recommend Kalidacolors Blue. Then tone with a violet base. Use a shampoo for Blondes. There are also Hi-lift blonde dyes that are less damaging. If you want to go darker you have to fill the bleached hair with a gold based filler then color over that. Don't use "box color" it's unpredictable & contains metallics that can leave permanent lines in your hair if you change color products. Go to Sally's Beauty Supply they have more professional products & they can assist you in your purchase & the prices are better. Use good products not Pantene, Herbal Essence & Garnier they are silicone products. They make you hair nice at first but as the silicone builds up it locks out moisture your hair weakens & breaks. Use pro products they last longer because you use less so the extra expense is worth it. The shampoos don't contain a detergent lathering agent so it's weird at first because you are used to lather. Great specialty products are, Nioxxin, (for growth) Joico K-Pak Reconstructor also Silk Results, Rusk has New Pro Elements Keratin. Nexxus Humectruss & Keraphixx. Big Sexy has good general products. Take Biotin & Vitamin E to help have healthy hair.

My daughter hair turned orange from bleach?

Okay, the issue is the metallic base of whatever your daughter had on before. That is why the bleach or any other product you will try to put on there will burn the hair. You can not add a chemical over this of any kind. This hair is not going to be blond. Sorry. Luckily you can color over this with a no ammonia, no peroxide product to get a darker, even tone. I know you don't want to hear that. Even with that, you should have a strand test done PRIOR to putting on your daughters hair. So the choices are to live with the area of brassy and grow it off and retouch only the virgin hair PROFESSIONALLY. ( Remember you must tell them about the metallic base.) Or you can use a no ammonia, no peroxide direct deposit product AFTER you do a strand test. Best of luck.

I bleached my dark blonde hair and it came out orange. Can I just put an extra light natural blonde dye in my hair? What will happen if I do? My hair is normally a really light blonde and I dyed it darker.

You have two options:bleach it again to get past the orange and then to a yellow you can tone, or:Color it all with a darker shade.Using purple shampoo won’t help as it’s meant for blondes (violet cancels out yellow), but you can try a blue shampoo and see if it neutralizes the orange (don’t bank everything on that though). Your hair is orange because whatever you used wasn’t strong enough to break through the artificial color and now you’ve got what we professionals call a color correction on your hands. If you’re not going to go to a salon for a fix and want to fix it yourself then like I said at the beginning, your options are to bleach it again or go over it with a darker shade. Color doesn’t lift color so you’ll waste time and money trying to do that.

Can I dye my hair dark brown the same day as bleaching?

My natural color is a dark blonde, and I regularly get light blonde highlights from a salon. I decided that I wanted to do something dramatic, so I went to the salon to get an all-over light blonde color. I have well-water, so I got a malibu treatment first, and then she bleached my hair, and after, she put on a toner....And even after all that, it turned out orangey and uneven, and I'm very unhappy with it. I have to work in the morning, and I can't possibly go in with hair this ridiculous (not just because it's embarrassing, but it just seems rather unprofessional, even if it was an accident.) I really just want to dye it over with a dark brown, but the only way I can do that at this point is with a box dye. I just want to know what the consequences might be if I use a dark brown box dye tonight, so that I don't have to go to work looking like this in the morning.

What color does dark brown hair turn when it's bleached?

What about red hair??
or "Copper blonde" as it's called...
because me and my bffl want to bleach our hair or at least dye it blonde and we have no idea how it would turn out!

How do you fix bleached hair gone orange?

First, condition your hair really, really well for some period, because the bleaching is the most destructive to hair cuticle, other than permanents, on the planet.  Then get a de-brassing rinse.  It's essentially a purple that will counteract the orange by making it back to more of a brown.  Will you stay platinum blonde?  Probably not.  That's an ongoing problem with someone with darker hair wanting to lighten it more than a few shades.  Not only do you end up orange often, but roots show in like 2 seconds.

Can you dye hair dark blonde after bleached and toned hair?

Yes, it's possible, I definitely recommend going to a professional. Hair that's been bleached can be very difficult to color over and look natural. This is because bleach changes the condition and texture of your hair, which and makes the porosity, or how the hair absorbs and holds color, different all over the head. Usually on bleached hair, the ends usually grab color very quickly and has a flat appearance. If you put one color all over your head, it would likely be darker at the ends, and the color would lack richness and shine. If you use an ash color, it might turn blueish or green instead of blonde. Bleached hair needs to be filled, and layers of different colors put on the hair, so that it has dimension and shine and looks natural. I recommend going to a reputable salon, and asking the stylist to weave your entire head with different shades of light golden brown, and dark golden blonde. You do not want one all over color put on your hair, even if the stylist wants to do that, trust me! The gold will ensure that the hair doesn't turn greenish, and lowlights will leave out pieces of  the bleached hair, which will act as highlights. After the lowlights, you may need a toner in a very light beige blonde all over the head. It may take more than one visit to get the desired result, depending on the current condition of your hair.
