Dental issue...burn on roof of mouth after dental work?

OK, so here is the situation...

on monday I went and had a crown done. I was in minimal discomfort, but motrin took care of it. wednesday I went back to the same dentist to have some fillings done. I had multiple novacain shots including one practically in my jaw and one on the roof of my mouth. the entire left side of my mouth was numb. wednesday night when the novacain wore off my mouth still felt odd. sort of like when you scald your mouth on hot coffee. thursday afternoon it STILL felt odd and things did not taste right. I called the dentist and they had no clue what was going on.I did go for coffee, but the lady only heated it to 120 degrees instead of 160 degrees. Friday morning I felt something on the roof of my mouth and as I rubbed it lightly, little bits of tissue fell off onto my finger. I called the dentist and went in for them to check it and the dentist said I had a burn on the roof of my mouth.

I know that SOMETHING they did on wednesday burned me, but I am not sure WHAT. My best guess is that it is either the oil of clove they put in a bleeding tooth, or the little infrared heater thing they set fillings with. ANy clue which one it could have been? I did have a very strong, very nasty taste in my mouth as soon as I got out of the chair, but they said it would go away.

There is a blister behind my front teeth, how do I get rid of it?

Sounds like your incisive papilla is inflamed and your teeth hitting it is exacerbating the problem. They might also be the primary cause. Most likely not because you would have this frequently if the teeth are causing it.The incicive papilla is a little bump on your gums behind your upper from two incisors. Looks like this:It is easily burned by hot food or beverages. I know, I burnt my this morning with my coffee. Rough foods can also inflame it. It usually hurts for a couple of days and then resolves.

The roof of my mouth HELP?

The grooves or whatever you may call them on the roof of my mouth , one of them towards the front of my mouth is hurting BAD the feeling that I can best describe is (when you eat a lime, chips, hard cereal, too many suckers) And you know how that can cut up the roof of one's mouth! Well I have had that happen and it hurts for a couple of days then heals. Well this just keeps getting more painful my uncle says it looks like a blister, It kind of makes sense to me because I had 2 fever blisters on my lip and a blister on the lower inside of my lip around the same time this appeared.
I only get fever blisters when stressed out or really upset. But what is going on in the roof of my mouth?
The part feels like its cut open and it hurts to drink and especially eat. It is swollen and red. (as far as I can see.)
Also if it is just irritated let me know what I can do to speed the healing process and how long is this going to last?
Thank you so much I HIGHLY appreciate this!

These painful sores inside the mouth may be triggered by stress, injury, nutritional deficiencies, menstruation or genetic factors. They usually clear up in one to two weeks. Get Anbesol or Orajel at a pharmacy to help with the pain. There are also mouthwashes that will help - get ones without alcohol. How do you get an abscess in the roof of your mouth?

The roof of the month, known as the hard palate consist of soft tissues(mucosa) that are tightly bound to bone.Abscesses seen here tend to occur from a decayed/infected tooth in which the infection has perforated the bone suporting the tooth. There are also non dental causes of palate swelling, like tumors, both benign and malignantPalatal tori, which are bony overgrowths, can be mistaken as an abscess by an untrained eye, they are harmless and quite commonly seen.A clinical examination is mandatory to find out exactly what caused your swelling,do not delay.

I have a hard small bump on the roof of my mouth (palate) in the back, what could it be?

It sounds like it could be several things but if you play detective you could probably eliminate a few of them. Ulcer, Gum abscess, micro cut, blister, or cancer.

Sometimes ulcers form on the tissues of the mouth, usually on the inner cheek near the teeth or uncommonly on the roof of the mouth. They can either be pain full or Just a nuisance but nonetheless they will resolve themselves in 5 days to 2 weeks.

A gum abscess can be simply described as a pocket of infected liquid, commonly known as pus, that collects in a small area within the body. An abscess leads to reddening and swelling of the area, which can be very painful too. It will "erupt" on its own or you could have your doctor "pop" it.

A micro cut could have happened without you even knowing it, the result is the body reacting to a sore and a possible infection. Usually these are painless but if severe one might experience some tenderness. The mouth is a wonderful thing, it heals faster than most tissues, the only faster is the eyeball. These are usually cause by food scratching the tissue of the mouth.

Blisters are formed usually from trauma to the mouth caused by hot foods (soup, hot potato, etc), Ulcers on the roof of the mouth are often caused by the herpes simplex virus.

Other causes of mouth "bumps" could be a bacterial infection or virus, which would cause the tissue in the mouth to be inflamed.

Cancer is another possibility and although it is usually associated with the use of tobacco products.

Hope this helps....if it gets worse you should probably seek medical help.
