How do you fix a DVD player that is only playing in black and white?

I'm down to those last few ideas:1. Your player has an NTSC mode that's not mentioned in the manual (would explain the black and white image), and somehow your son pressed the right buttons. Try a Google search on your model number and see if anyone else has posted instructions on how to change modes.2. Your TV can interpret NTSC and PAL systems per input, and there's a menu setting to adjust it. (you can eleimante this possibility by connecting the player to a different TV)3. The player is shot and it's time for a new one.Solution 1: Check your cables to see if you have plugged to wrong port for the video and audio, you can switch them to see if it turn normal. Solution 2: If the cables to ports are right, the cable may have problems, they maybe broken, or they may have compatible problem to the players and TV, this is often occurred between players and TVs in different brand. You can choose to pick high quality cables from Amazon, here we recommend you to choose these high quality and compatible cables from Amazon, they are carefully selected by professor. Solution 3: Choose to convert DVD disc movies to common videos like MP4, then you can copy to USB flash drive and watch DVD movies on HDTV via USB. This is the most fashion way to play DVD movies. Can I put my LCD TV on top of my DVD player?

(1) - Definitely worry about the weight issue like others have mentioned. I would think most DVD players would not be well suited to handle that in the long run. I think it could lead to a warping of the chassis, and long term possibly damaging the player.

(2) - Also worry about the head. Would putting the TV on top block any air vents for the DVD player? That would certainly be very bad for the player.

Even if it doesn't, usually most are setup so the top surface acts as some degree of heat sink. And then put the TV on top of it and you will be preventing airflow from helping to remove the access heat. Or possibly be adding heat to the TV, so now you might be adding a bit of extra wear on the TV (not much, as its the stand taking the brunt of the heat, but hey if some of that travels towards the TV and adds another degree or so to its operating temperature, that's still added wear).

Can I run a fire TV stick through a DVD player?

It’s unlikely in a standalone DVD player, since the Fire requires an HDMI input, and DVD players (and even recorders) don’t offer that. You might find it in “Home Theater in a Box” systems, where the DVD transport is built into a receiver/amplifier chassis that could have an HDMI input, which might well work with the Fire stick. But that’s not strictly just a “DVD player,” it’s a whole system.

Can you watch a 4K DVD on a normal DVD player?

DVD Player can’t play any 4k discs cause they require entirely different laser assemblies and the discs are completely different in their format and recorded pits and lands.4k Discs are embedded with more video and audio information than a DVD player is designed to read. In addition, the “pits” used to store the information on a 4k disc are much smaller than a DVD, which requires a blue laser to read the information, whereas DVD players use red lasers. Blue lasers produce light beam with a shorter wavelength, which is needed to focus on the smaller pits of a 4k Disc. The pits on the disc is where the video and audio information of 4k Discs (as well as DVDs and CDs) is stored. So to play 4k disc on DVD Players, the best workaround is that you can use a bluray ripper to convert 4k disc to DVD Player supported format such as MP4, MKV, etc then play the videos via USB or over network. Here recommended you Pavtube ByteCopy, This Blu-ray Ripper is highly praised in Blu-ray ripping software field for its integrated Blu-ray decryption and multifunctions.

Do I need a 4k TV to play Xbox One S?

Nope. Really at this point, the Xbox One, Xbone S, and the PS4 original, have 4k more or less for movies and TV at this point, they don’t run most games in 4k, at least not natively. The Xbox one X and PS4 Pro, however, are better at it. Particularly that Xbox. If you just have the S, then you don’t need to worry about 4k. Chances are your current HDTV is a 1080i or 1080p TV and that’s good enough.

Ps3 on sdtv vs hdtv.?

I wont even play ps3 on a sdtv it is that bad compared to hd. For example in mw2 HD allows you to see people off in the distance with out a problem, and the people look like people not little blurs when they get to far away. It allows you to see people when they are camping in windows or bushes. If they are laying down they don't blend into the ground as much. So to sum it all up if you play on a hdtv it will better your game significantly. If you don't have a hdtv buy one, it is well worth the money. walmart sells a 19" vizio for $180 and is what i played on for a while until i bought a bigger hdtv

Can I use my smart TV without the internet?

Can I use my smart TV without the internet?Yes, you can use it as a TV and you can use any apps that do not require the internet. My current TV is a smart TV that I can use to access numerous web sites to stream video and even has a basic web browser and email client. I only use it as a TV. I never use any of the apps and it is not connected to the internet by wire or wireless. So, why did I get a Smart TV? Well, for several reasons, among them:I wanted a lot of HDMI ports and this TV has 1 more than I needI wanted good video quality and this TV had significantly better quality than any of the other TVs that had enough HDMI ports at the time I bought itI prefer to use other devices for accessing the web. I have an Apple TV, a PC, and a PS/3 attached to HDMI ports which give me better access to streaming apps than those built into the TV. I could use the Netflix app, for example, but it’s not anywhere as easy to use as the Netflix app in my Apple TV.
