What is your review of The Jane Austen Book Club (2007 movie)?

I have rarely seen a movie where it feels like the writer and actors actually read the books being discussed, and have some idea of the arguments their characters are making. Usually, the screenwriter throws in a reference to a favorite book without really analyzing why that book makes sense in the context of the character reading or quoting it and the overall narrative, leading to the sense of a slipshod construction. In The Jane Austen Book Clue, Robin Swicord clearly knew and loved Jane Austen when she wrote the script and directed the actors (and what a jaw dropping cast that was). So is it the most visually inventive or narratively ambitious or whatever film? Absolutely not. But it is a film about people like me - who have loved Jane Austen since they were 17, and have read her books over and over again, and read books about her books, and loved and hated movies based on her books - with no condescention (like the offensive and disgusting Lost in Austen) or ignorance (like the last two adaptations of Mansfield Park). And that’s worthwhile.

What is the best website for book reviews?

The Best Book Review SitesBookLikes – BookLikes, the Poland-based multi-national site whose eight month beta launch went public in 2013, does bring some new twists to book discovery. While still incorporating the same kinds of features that have made sites like Goodreads so popular and well-trafficked, BookLinks offers its users a greater scope by creating book blogs rather than profiles.Goodreads – GoodReads is a book discovery site and online book club community. There are millions of reviews and people buzzing about new books coming out. It has a strong social media vibe, with some books generating thousands and thousands of comments. GoodReads is basically the Facebook of books.NPR – The NPR has excellent book reviews and podcasts. I like this one better than the CBC or BBC equivalents.Kirkus Reviews – Founded in 1933, Kirkus has been an authoritative voice in book discovery for 80 years. Kirkus Reviews magazine gives industry professionals a sneak peek at the most notable books being published weeks before they’re released. Kirkus serves the book reviews to consumers in a weekly email newsletter and on the website, giving readers unbiased, critical recommendations they can trust.Oomnivoracious – Omnivoracious is a blog run by the books editors at Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more. They aim to share their passion for the written word through news, reviews, interviews, and more. This is our space to talk books and publishing. From the Critics – New York Times Book Blog is different from the perennial New York Times bestseller list. You will find better crafted book reviews and interviews with authors. The New York Review of Books is a different site, but equally great and so is the London Review of Books.Next up is Detailed Book review summaries, with a design stuck in 1999, the apogee of humanity according to the Matrix. Their library is comprehensive and the search engine highly customizable, but the reviews are generally short and superficial. “Gordon invites readers, authors and publishers to enter books and reviews in a process that takes about 10 minutes,” and that’s exactly the problem with the site. Instead of knowledgeable readers and writers, you will sometimes risk finding a common illiterate species: the internet troll. The advantage of reading through many viewpoints is undeniable so go on and visit it here.So here are the best sites where you can read book reviews.

Girls of Bad Girls Club 3 review?

Ok here's how i feel about the girls from the bad girls club 3.
do you agree?
how do you feel about the girls?

Amber M- just straight up retarded. I honestly feel bad for her and i respect the fact that she's not a punk and can hold her own.

Amber B- feel bad for her too. Her clothes did not deserve to be thrown all around outside and the fab (fake) 5 crossed the line

Aliea- The most annoying. Every episode i feel like just draggin her from those hidious blonde highlights till she shuts her instigating mouth. She constatly crosses the lines with the ambers and I know if she had thrown my bathing suit from the roof she wouldve been rite with them floatin in tht infested behind water (no offense im not saying mexican water is nasty)

Sarah - just ugh already. she's a freak and needs to just go somewhere

Ashley - looks like plastic surgery was not the answer cuz she still looks like a stale old man. and who carries on like that when they dont win a bathing suit contest! a waste of human if you ask me

Tiff- The fakest most biggest punks of them all. She goes around with her chest poking out (figuratively) like she's all big and bad but when it come down to it she cannot fight to save her bald headed no-edges-having life! Her and whitney and sarah pulled the biggest punk move ever when they jumped little frail Amber. like if u really could fite like u said u could you wouldnt have to jump her. she need to sit down somewhere and stop this un needed drama

whitney- OH yeah im from boston oh eah!! little girl SHUT UP! u rep boston all hard and u shouldnt. u say people from boston will kill yyou but when u had the chance to fight aber all you did was pull hair! AND U AINT EVEN DO IT RITE!!! if u gonna pulls some ones hair pull it BACK so you could get clear hits to their face! she is also ffake, caniving, annoying and a punk.

at the end of the day all of these girls have their own issues, some more than others, and season two was wayy better!!

What is your review of Bad Samaritan (2018 movie)?

I saw this movie today, knowing absolutely nothing about it. I was pleasantly surprised by the taut storyline and Hitchhcockian feeling of suspense.Set in Portland, Oregon, two young men supplement their meager incomes with some larceny. What one of them discovers one night, changes their lives. A lot.The actors all turned it good performances. The bad guy, of course, stole the show.

What is the difference between a movie review and a movie analysis?

There are more similarities than your other responder suggests. For example, virtually every review of "Oh, Brother..." did, in fact, mention that it was a modern re-telling of The Odyssey.

The primary differences between these two modes of writing lies in their purpose and audience. A review is usually intended for publication in a newspaper or magazine. Its purpose is to give readers guidance on whether or not they want to see the movie. The best reviews are written by people who have an excellent understanding of filmmaking and film history and so can make reasoned judgments. On what basis do you decide whether George Clooney did a good job in a certain movie? It's certainly NOT merely your opinion. Because, frankly, who the heck cares?

An analysis is a more academic endeavor. It more thoroughly dissects (that's what analysis is) the film's technique, performances, and background. There is, however, virtually no category of material that might appear in an analysis that can NEVER appear in a review.

In short, as with all writing, purpose and audience are the keys. Because of this, writing style can give us a hint as to which type of essay a particular piece is. Reviews are usually shorter, lighter in style, and sometimes funny or even snarky. Analyses are usually more objective in style (and content) and never what you might call "breezy."

Best wishes!
