Bought A Truck What Is This

Just bought a truck, now what?

Let's start off by saying I'm a girl. I know the basics of vehicle care and how to's. But, I just bought a truck, and I would really like to upgrade my 2" lift, get new headlights, get a new exhaust, fix my 4x4, get a sound system, etc. It has flowmasters on it already, and the lift, but thats the only perks really.. any advice or suggestions?

Can I find out who bought my dad's truck?

Hey all, about 8 months ago my mom sold my dad's truck to a dealership. When he died everybody in our family knew he wanted to leave it to me (it was our thing, washing it, driving and everything) but I was 14 and he hadn't changed his will so he left everything my mom. Everybody in my family told her to give it to me because it really was supposed to be mine but she claimed that he left it to her so its hers, end of story. Anyways, she gave me her PT Cruiser....yeah. Then she dols the truck to a dealership for about 7 grand over asking price because everybody around here wants the truck. Im wondering if there is a way to find out who bought the truck from the dealership, I just wanna buy my truck when I the money for it.I still have a key to it in my car...

What could go wrong if I bought a truck with a rusty frame?

First and foremost rust happens when the metal in your car is mixed with oxygen or water. In relevant to your question, what I can suggest is that I think there is no wrong in buying a car with a rust as long as it is fixable. However, if it isn't then make sure you're ready to spend some penny to have it fixed then. Good luck!

I bought a truck for 33,000 plus 18 interest. total is 47,00 over 5 years how do pay the least amount?

Best thig to do is after you send in your normal monthly payment and you have extra cash to spare, on a seperate check write out the amount your sending and on the bottom where the memo goes write in "PRINCIPAL BALANCE". What this does is this payment goes directly to the balance of the vehicle without any interest being taxed or removed from this total.

I just bought a ford dump truck and it says i need a cdl to drive it can i not get my cdl and drive it?

Sorry for the long answer, but you should be informed to avoid thousands of dallars in fines:

It does not matter what you register it at, or what it actually weighs, you need to look on the driver's door jamb, or on the door. There is a VIN plate which gives info about the truck. The GVWR (in pounds) is the important number here.
1) If the GVWR is 26,001 or more then you need a class B CDL. If it is equipped with air brakes, then you need a L restriction removed as well.
2) If the GVWR is 26000 or less, then you do not need a CDL - even if it is equipped with air brakes. (this is common misinformation. No CDL, no restriction.)

If the GVWR is over 10,000 you need a certificate of medical examination (medical card) from your doctor.

You also will need to keep time records for 6 months, - documenting times you drive, rest, and are on duty not driving. You will also need to carry with you a Record of Duty Status (log book), unless you are exempt. - see link.

You also need to display an IFTA fuel tax sticker on the door.

If you haul an interstate load, you need a USDOT number.

Don't forget periodic inspections, and insurance, and apportion registration if traveling into other states.

I got fired from my job, i just bought a brand new truck and i have payments that need to be made... What should i do?

Hi guys im gonna keep this as short as i can, so last friday i bought an f150 for $35,150 and i have payments of $434 a month plus 132 on insurance with $250 rent and all other issentials like food and gas. I really relyed on my job that i worked at for 3 years. Well tuesday i got called in and they fired me because they thought i was stealing time on the clock even when i had a justified cause to be there 30 minutes past clock out time. Literally they fired me over $5 dollars (since i got paid $11.29 an hour) so its been almost a week and ive applied thru all the temp agencie i could and i got interviewed. after they said i have a tour at a another factory and if i like it then ill meet them back at 2 so Hopefully thats a good job lead but if it doesnt go thru or i dont get put on soon enough ill be screwed. I dont think i can get unemployment because of how i got fired and im thinking about taking a 401k hardship out to try to cover my *** til i get another check. Problem is my first truck/insurance payment are due next month and ill be screwed if i dont have money by then.... What should i do? Any advice?

Is there much difference between a truck bought in Mexico and a truck bought in the United States?

There is a huge difference. Here’s a crash test between the lowest-end Nissans offered in Mexico (red car) and the United States (silver car). Not trucks, but I think you can get the idea. Driver of red car (made in Mexico) is dead, driver of blue car (made in USA) has a decent chance of walking away with just bruises.Mexico (and many other countries) have far laxer safety regulations, allowing for cheaper materials and construction in cars; as a result, the car literally folds in on itself in a crash. Also no airbags, but they probably wouldn’t help much because you’re getting crushed by the dashboard anyway.I’m sure there are many other differences in such things as emissions, comfort and reliability of the car… but I’d say crash-worthiness is by far the most important, and there is a very clear loser.

My husband went out and bought a truck without even telling me!!!!!?

I am so mad. He had a 2004 galant. Good 4 door sedan. before that he had a 99' F150. he recently has been saying that he wanted a titan instead of the sedan but nothing to serious. He went out today to look at some cars and see the prices and what he can get as a trade in value.

It was meant to be a informative trip and he said he would not buy a car. GUESS WHAT!!! he came home with a 1999 F150. why would anyone go from a 2004 down to a 1999? did he consider our daughter? on top of it he is paying $259 a month. FOR A 99" ?????we thought a 4 door sedan wasn't big enough.. why in the world would he get a fricking truck with a crawl space for a back seat.

I am so angry that he made this choice with out even asking me. would anyone else feel mad or am i over reacting.

I just bought my first semi truck now how do I find a good driver to put in it?

Given a lack of detailed information, I will make a number of logical assumptions:One: you are a transport truck driver with significant experience. Thus you have been speaking with a number of drivers over a number of years and you have seen how the industry generally works and you know what appeals to drivers and what does not. Two: you will be driving the truck part time. I would expect you would initially be riding with a prospective driver for a while, to evaluate their competency and how they go about the tasks associated with the job.Three: you’ll want to keep your truck busy seven days a week, thus you’ll eventually drive on the contracted driver’s day off, or you’ll eventually hire two drivers.Four: you bought the truck knowing there is abundant work for the truck, perhaps you have contracted work for the next year or two.In the absence of having a list of known responsible and reliable drivers, you will need to post ads and get ready to perform detailed interviews and driving evaluations. You might opt to go with one very trusted experienced driver performing the evaluations on your behalf. If I were you, I would be spending an extended time in the right seat with a prospective driver and determining what they want from the work and discover what will create a desire to apply more than a minimum effort.Example, are you paying hourly or by the mile? In both cases, adding a bonus for certain levels of performance would likely be a good idea. Perhaps the starting pay is on a scale which keeps rising incrementally over time. In addition, the driver routinely submitting the documentation you require in a manner which is timely, easy to read and complete might contribute to an additional quarterly bonus, along with a safety bonus for no incidents or accidents. There are plenty of ways to create performance incentives. Many companies don’t do this. I’m of the opinion assuming all drivers are equal, thus all receive the same pay, is not an appropriate approach. In the end, it depends upon what you expect from your driver(s) and what you are willing to do to attract and keep a driver who meets your expectations and your needs.
