Boxer Mix Puppy Tears Up Paper

If my dog eats paper, will anything bad happen?

As with a lot of things, this is a matter of degrees, as well as other factors. If a dog eats a muffin and the muffin cup it came in, it’s unlikely to cause much problem, unless the dog is a Chihuahua or Yorkie or other tiny dog, where that amount of paper is a significant size compared to their body and organ size.If a dog eats a newspaper, it could be bad because it can cause a huge blockage, it can absorb a lot of their body fluid and dehydrate them, cause massive constipation, and even the ink can be detrimental. If the dog eats a magazine, the glossy, heavier weight paper can retain its sharp edges and cut their esophagus, stomach or intestines. If they eat tissues or paper towels, again, it can block their intestines. These are life-threatening situations, and must be dealt with by a veterinarian very quickly, because the dog’s life can very well be in jeopardy. If your dog eats something that is shouldn’t, like paper or a sock, what many vets will recommend is to induce vomiting by putting peroxide into your dog. But I would encourage you to always check with your vet, or an emergency vet clinic before doing anything yourself - better still, bring your dog to the vet, to have peace of mind!

Is buying a dog with no papers bad?

If the dog is most certainly a Purebred dog you can register the dog under the AKC PAL/ILP listing, it's the Purebred Alternative Listing and you can register the dog that way.

But be sure to not state that the dog is a tea-cup anything, the AKC does not recognize Tea-cups as a breed because there is no such thing. If the dog is a Yorkie just say Yorkshire Terrier if a chihuahua then list as a Chihuahua NOT a teacup they will reject your application I'm sure.

Why on earth would this woman purchase another dog if she's neglecting the first dog??? Both should be removed from her care as she is an irresponsible owner.

Anyway I hope you get this puppy and give it a good home, this woman should be reported for neglect.

Good luck

P.S. You do not need to register this dog in order to own it. Papers are only required if you intend to show the dog and if the dog does not have them then you cannot show it. Also the AKC PAL/ILP registration requires the dog to be fixed so you cannot show it or breed it.

What to do when your puppy eats a box of kleenex?

You have a very serious issue with tissue.

Call a vet! But, if you like to experiment dose him with some cooking oil, and see what comes out.

On second thought, liquid would cause it to swell. You have a problem.

I picked up a puppy last night from a breeder...?

Ouch! Big mistake on the part of the breeder. But there may be more to this than meets the eye. Unless the puppy has been microchipped, it shouldn't be impossible to switch puppies, and keep the same name etc. A breeder just gets a pack of papers for that number of puppies after all. It may mean the breeder doesn't get the name she chose for a puppy she was going to keep (if you want to hang onto the name, if not the puppy)

A very young puppy won't have bonded with you in 24 hours, to be honest - at least she will be able to carry on if you take her back to somewhere familiar. It might be upsetting for you and your children, but frankly after only such a short time, I'd take her back and, after having a chat with this breeder, come to a mutually acceptable arrangement. Far better to get this situation sorted out because you need this breeder as your 'friend'!

Very odd, much as I have to say puppies with no specific markings (eg Black Labs, etc.) aren't easy to identify (which is why breeders use coloured puppy collars!).

My 6 month old puppy keeps pooping in the house when I leave.. help?

Cage train your dog. It took my dog only 2 weeks to be fully potty trained by cage training. Take your dog potty immediately before you leave and then put them in their cage with a toy or treat. When you get home, immediately praise your dog, take them outside to go potty, and praise them again. They will not go potty in their cage IF it is small enough. I PROMISE YOU THAT! He will learn veryyyy quickly :) Once he is trained and you see a difference, you can say bye bye to the cage. Like I said, we only used it for 2 weeks and then got ride of it because he was fully potty trained.

Why does my dog love to eat Kleenex and paper towels?

well its the texture. my dog used to eat kleenex, toilet paper and really good underwear but wouldn't touch the cheap undies. the vet says since they like to chew they mainly go after textures that feel good in their mouths. at this age try puppy proofing the home when you leave (keeping bathroom doors shut and everything up where she can't get to it) until they learn that these are not her toys. get her soft chew toys and it should help deter her from eating what she isn't suppose to.

Are Boxer dogs good with special needs children?

Boxers are super high energy and a lot of them I have personally trained aren't exactly what I would recommend for a household with a special needs child due to the fact that they have a tendency to run and jump all over the house and don't care what/who they run over in the process. I would personally suggest an American Pitbull Terrier or a German Shepherd. These breeds are excellent with children and have more stable minds than boxers. They are all easily trainable and will naturally protect their families. I had the privilege to help train service dogs and those breeds were very gentle and sensitive with their child handlers.

One in particular was an american pitbull terrier, Patches, and his autistic 8yr old handler. Those two had the most amazing relationship I have ever seen. Patches was stuck to the boy like glue and was always by his side as his protector, gaurdian, best friend.

Just be cautious with GSDs, make sure it is a reputable breeder and let them know you would like a more low drive pup for service type of work. Good luck!!

My female dog licks herself when on her period. Is that ok?

Yes, it’s okay, but it’s not a period, it’s called heat. Periods are the shedding of the endometrial lining in women, and it is the least likely time for them to get pregnant. Heat is when bitches are able to get pregnant, and their hormones surge causing nearby dogs and her to go nuts trying to get together. You really should get her spayed after her heat is over. It will prevent health issues that will cost a lot later on, accidental litters, and the inevitable property damage when she bleeds all over the place (they have diapers, but many dogs will tear them or scoot them off), a dog gets a whiff of her, or when she decides to break out and try to breed. It’s a very uncomfortable time for the bitch, and her hormones drive her to do things she wouldn’t normally do.

What do I do if my dog ate bloody pads?

First thing first: Make sure your dog does not have access to such things.Second thing: Train your dog to eat only in his bowl. Or else someone could poison your dog some day. I have 4 dogs and Dog A won’t eat in bowl of Dog B. Search for this training.Third thing: This could be our of curiosity and his smell instinct. but please also check your dog’s diet. He may be hungry as being under-fed.Thanks for reading.

My pregnant dogs temperature has been 98 all day, when will she begin whelping?

My dog was bred from the dates of September 18th to October 9th. She is huge at this point and as previously stated her temp has remained right around 98 all day today. What should I expect next and how soon should the pups arrive?
