Braces Wearing Elastics Speeding Treatment

How can I treat pain caused by my braces' elastics?

You can use regular painkillers. The same you would use for a headache for example. But don’t expect the pain to go away, specially if it is very strong. You should always give feedback to your dentist with the amount of pain you have, and he will prescribe the propper medication. If it hurts too bad, he probably went a little too far tightening the braces and elastics. The problem is that it will not hurt that bad at the time, it starts to ache about 1h later.Freezing cold water also helps. I use to keep a huge glass in my desk and drank it continuously to soothe the pain. I never liked to take meds.

Is it bad to over-wear elastics?

My orthodontist had me wear one on the right side 24/7, and on my new appointment she told me to wear them on both sides at night.

Would it be bad to just wear both of them 24/7? Will it help the process go faster?

The reason I'm asking is because the amount of hours I sleep vary each day due to work and other things, so honestly it would be pointless if I truly only wore them when I'm sleeping.

Is there any way to speed up fixing your overbite with braces?

on June 7th, they gave me rubber bands for my braces. They said around 2 or 3 more visits until they can come off. Is there any way to make them come off early? They said my teeth are straight and i only have to wear the braces just for the rubber bands. I WANT THESE OFF SO BAD!!

Is there any way to speed up the results of braces?

No, not really. The problem with trying to speed up the braces is that you risk damaging the nerve in the tooth and damaging the bone. The have to move slowly so they dont get damaged so bad that they die or that they never solidify into the bone when you are done. If you move them too fast and then get them off right away, they will not be stable and will move back.

What will happen if I remove my braces early and put a retainer instead?

Every treatment which a dentist provide is according to need of oral cavity. If you have been given braces and asked to keep it for specific duration of time is because it's a estimated time that within this much time your treatment/correction of teeth will get over. And if you will remove your braces and put retainers before your treatment gets over , teeth position which was required won't be obtained for which you have kept your braces for so long time.At last there will be high chances of relapse(getting back to its old position of your teeth)as teeth has not reached it's required position where a teeth has to be ideally. It will put your teeth in poor condition. For not getting all these complications it is always advisable to keep braces according to what your Dentist has asked you to keep as they have studied and analysed your oral cavity after that they provide treatment duration.Hope you will follow your Dentist instructions and will keep your braces according to what they have planned.Enjoy your braces wearing days.Well wishes.
