Bringing home a new kitten. Precautions?
I will be bringing home a two-month-old kitten in just over a week, but I'm a little concerned about how my resident cat will react to her. Mojo is around seven years old now (he was a present to me for my ninth birthday) and we have had him since we was six weeks old, he has been an only cat for the majority of those years. The kitten we are getting is a persian/ragdoll cross, she is a girl and much younger than him. Ragdolls in general, have very little ways to defend themselves, and I'm worried about how Mojo will react to her. We also have two dogs in our household, Ozzy, a two-year-old Pug, and Shadow, who is at least twelve, and a pure bred Golden Retriever. I can't quite remember how Shadow acted when we first brought Mojo home, but the two of them get along fine now. Ozzy and Mojo, on the other hand, don't exactly get along, but can tolerate each other. What can I do to make the change easier and less stressful for Mojo, both dogs, and our new kitten?
Dog seems depressed after bringing a kitten home?
I adopted a kitten yesterday and well, my dog seems very depressed! She is just laying behind the couch and doesn't come when called anymore... Could this be because of the kitten? We also just recently moved. Any suggestions?

My dog a 7 year old bichon is so sweet. I brought home a 15 week old kitten a couple days ago and she and the new kitten got along great, the kitten trust her and she trust the kitten, they even snuggle together. I keep my kitten in my room because i dont want her to roam the house yet, so when i do my work i go downstairs and my dog follows me. It started the day she came home when she saw the kitten go under the bed she followed her and now when she'd not sitting on the couch or her bed my dog goes under the bed and hides, it's easy to get her out because she'll follow me to the next room but is there any way for me to teach her not to do that. Before the kitten came she had NEVER done anything like this she never hid. Why is she doing that is she imitating the kitten?
My cat is acting strange after bringing a new kitten home.?
I recently adopted a 12 week old kitten because I felt my 10 month old cat, Abby, was lonely. After about a week they have seemed to been introduced fine. They will play every once in a while and Abby will even groom the new kitten. However, she is completely ignoring me and has no more kitteny behavior (playing with her toys and running around) like she did prior to the kitten arrival. Her tail is always down and she is not herself at all. Will she ever turn back to normal and show me affection again?
My boxer is salivating over a new kitten i brought home...?
She acts like she is scared of the kitten, but i can not get my dogs attention. She is 100% focused on the new kitten and has drool dripping from her face to the floor. Like shes staring at it like a piece of fried chicken.... Is this a normal reaction? Is she just like, in a trance or do you think she really wants to attack the baby kitten? How can I get her to stop being so jealouse. Shes been a One Dog Show now for 2 years so shes been absolutly spoiled rotten. I just want to get them used to eachother!
Will my cat hate me since I brought home a new kitten?
I understand and am prepared for the introduction but my older(7 mos) is really pissed! She is not only growling and hissing at the 2 mo old she is doin it to me as well! I feel horrible that my cat is so upset at our new addition...I dont want to permenently scar her! Did I make the wrong desision bringing the kitten home? Please tell me it will get easier on us all!
