Broncos Or Cowboys Are You Watching This S**t

Will the Broncos make it to the Super Bowl in 2017?

While it is not uncommon for one of the 2 teams to be in the Super Bowl the following year, only once have the same 2 teams appeared "back to back" (the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXVIII - Buffalo lost both games). A number of teams have appeared in "back to back" Super Bowls (including the Broncos - twice: they lost both games once and won both the next time), but if you check out Super Bowl 50 at NFL.com - Official Site of the National Football League (which has yet to be updated for Super Bowl 50), you can see the history. So far, only 4 teams have never played in the Super Bowl (Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans) and 9 teams which have appeared have never won.  As far as the Broncos appearing again next year, that's a BIG "it depends". Not only does it depend on how many of the current team is re-signed (Von Miller and Brock Osweiler, the "heir apparent" quarterback are both due new contracts as well as other less well known but strong contributors to the team and Peyton has yet to decide his plans for the next season), but how few injuries the Broncos player sustain during preseason AND the regular season - not to mention injuries to the opposition when they play the Broncos as well as how many "top players" each of THOSE teams get to keep. You couldn't get me to make a forecast today (only 3 days after Super Bowl 50) for anything - n fact, until about the last 4 games of the season, I wouldn't dare make that guess.

Why are the Cowboys considered "America's Team"?

Where did the tag of "America's Team" come from? Wouldn't it make more sense for the Patriots to be America's team. If it weren't for the actions of great Patriots like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Paul Revere and John Hancock where would we be today? I'm not discounting the bravery or work ethic of Cowboys or their role in American history. America became America with the unselfish acts of a few great Patriots not great Cowboys. Maybe Cowboy fans should rethink this or maybe not, its just a question.

What event caused you to be a life long Dallas Cowboys fan?

Since my father has been apart of the Cowboys faithful his whole life, I was born into the fandom. So while I don’t have an exact answer for your question, it’s worth noting that my very existence might be a curse to the Dallas Cowboys franchise. After crushing the 70’s with 2 Super Bowls, the Cowboys went through a major era of mediocrity in the 80’s. Nonetheless, the last decade of the 20th century belonged to America’s Team. They won 3 Super Bowls in the 90’s (‘92, ‘93, ‘95) and lost in the conference championship in ‘94. That means 3 Super Bowls and a plethora of playoff wins. Why is this relevant to me?The last Super Bowl (XXX) that the Dallas Cowboys have won was played on January 28, 1996. At this time, I was an 8-month developed fetus inside my mother’s womb, just to be born 37 days later on March 5.Before I was born, the Dallas Cowboys had a playoff record of 11–2 in the 1990’s. Since I was born, they have a playoff record of 3–9, having been stopped at the Wild Card or Divisional round every single time. What’s worse, 11 of the last 12 #1 seeds in the playoffs have gone on to the Super Bowl. In 2016 when the Cowboys lost to the Green Bay Packers in the Divisional round, they became the lonely outlier of #1 seeds to not make the Super Bowl.I’ve seen Aaron Rodgers murder the hopes and dreams of all Dallas fans, Tony Romo fumble snaps, go to Mexico with Jessica Simpson, I had to watch Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel attempt to play football at the most important position for this team. It is quite unfathomable for me to associate this franchise with dynasty-level eliteness. So, am I the curse? It seems like as soon as I was born, the Cowboys and the postseason got into an ugly divorce with no means of reconciliation. Whether it counts or not that I was “alive” for their last Super Bowl can become a pro-life vs pro-choice debate. However, I don’t think it counts, and for some reason it seems I have had some type of impact on this team, and it has not been a good one.
