Buick Rendezvous Owners Or Those Who Have Worked On Them Whats Your Opinion

I own a buick rendezvous - how do you tether a child's car seat in?

Don't know what year yours is, but I got this from a manual for a 2007 Renedezvous:
all seating positions in the 2nd row have top tether anchors. In the 3rd row, only one position does. To help you find the tethor anchor, look for a ship anchor symbol. For the 3rd row, it will be on the floor, under a flap of carpet behind the seat. For the 2nd row, if your vehicle is one with captain's chairs in the 2nd row with the middle console between them, they are sticking out at the bottom behind the 2nd row. No carpet to lift or anything. Here's a link to this owners's manual, though looking in yours should get you what you need as well.

2002 Buick Rendezvous Stuck in Park?

Broken shift interlock solenoid. Refer to your owner's manual to get the procedure for a manual override

My ‘05 Buick Rendezvous is leaking a brownish red fluid from its engine. What might it be, and what are the implications?

Brownish-red sounds like probably transmission fluid. First I would check the fluid level if you know how. If not, call a repair shop or dealer ASAP and DON’T drive the car until you can verify there is enough fluid for safe operation. If you drive a car without enough transmission fluid you are guaranteed to do damage to the transmission and possibly the engine as well. You could also be looking at engine oil or brake fluid depending on how well you described it. Which would be bad to have low as well. The only fluid a vehicle “might” be able to tolerate running low on without damage would be coolant (which is not brownish-red). Even with coolant, depending on the weather and how low it is, you can still end up with serious damage.Basically, if you see ANY fluid leaking from your vehicle, get it checked out without delay. Most places will check these for you for FREE.

ARE THE 2004 BUICK RENDEZVOUS GOOD CARS?

For quite a few years now the american made vehicles have been low quality. I haven't purchased one for 20 years...and that one wasn't a new car either. My wife's daughter has a rendezvous and it is known as a mediocre van. So far they haven't had any major problems and they have had it for a year. But the driver's side window will not go up and down...might be something normal. I have also noticed there is quite a bit of plastic on the vehicle too. If you plan on buying a different vehicle every few years, then go for it. If you want to have a vehicle that will last you for many years without problems, then buy a import.

2005 Honda Pilot, 2005 Toyota Highlander, or a 2007 Buick Rendezvous?

The Pilot and the Highlander are excellent choices and may cost more than the Rendezvous but will hold their value better and have a more successful life expectancy.

If you think about it this way: Cars lose almost 40% of their value the first year and another 10-15% the second year and then they stop losing value so fast so what this means for your family is that they are getting excellent rides form the Honda and the Toyota at a value that will always be better (and better built) that the Buick. The Buick will never be worth as much as the other 2 cars so even though the smell of a brand new car or a newer car may be kinda appealing, a better value is the better yet older ones.

As for other models the Toyota and the Honda are the best of that crossover class for the money. Try and find some that are private party sales- you will spend less and can even finance through a credit union, bank or insurance company for private party sales.
Good luck!

Buick Rendezvous Radiator Rust or Coolant sludge?

I have a 2004 rendezvous. a couple of days ago on my way to work my a/c was blowing hot air. I took my car in and was told they couldn't find anything wrong and it was working fine. A couple hrs later my hot coolant light came on. I took it to the nearest shop and was shown what looked like orange powder completely covering the hole under the radiator cap. The next day they called and said rust was all through the system and likely in the engine, but no way to know. he said it was the worst he had ever seen and said i'd need a new radiator, probably 3-4 flushes, a new heat pump or something like that, and thermostat. he told me i might consider going somewhere for a trade in because even fixed the problem was likely to come back and might leak after the repair.

The following day i took it to the dealership so i could ask for GM to cover part of it (which they now are) and the dealership agreed it was the worst they had seen but said there was no rust at all and it's all coolant sludge. They said i need an engine flush, new radiator, water pump which was leaking, and thermostat. they also said it should permanently fix the problem and that they are unsure what caused it but it may have been the wrong coolant being added or air getting in from the leak in the water pump.

I was curious from anyone who may know something about cars which sounds more likely? If it is all rusted then I probably want to get rid of my car as soon as possible. If it's just coolant and will be all better with a new radiator then i am not in any rush. Any feedback would be appreciated

Buick Rendezvous with a bent frame?

I have a 2004 Buick Rendezvous that was hit on the passenger side front quarter panel,?
and after getting the estimate done, the repair guy tells me that the frame was bent but they could straighten it out. This to me sounds unsafe, anybody with more experience have an opinion?

Any opinions about the chevy equinox?

i'm looking into getting an suv and i saw the chevy equinox. i noticed that it's a little cheaper than some of the others and was wondering if it was a good vehicle.

In your opinion, which SUV is the best choice? Chevy Equinox, Saturn Vue, Buick Rendezvous, Or Kia Sorento?

I'm looking to buy an SUV, I'm looking at five different ones. Two of them are Chevy Equinox. I'm leaning towards the Buick, but want some opinions on which of these are the better choice. I'm thinking about taking the Kia out of my possibilities because of the reviews I've read about it. Allot of owners complain about electrical issues. And on top of that, I prefer an American made vehicle.
