Skinny guy bulking up meal plan?

I am 5'9 and 135 Lbs. I am skinny with a little bit of muscle, but I'm going to start working out again today. I know that I need a good diet though for bulking up. What are some good meal plans for this? I need a PLAN to stick to, not just ideas.

How to gain 30+ Pounds in 2 days?

I am anorexic and have been put into treatment 3 times for it. I weigh around 87. Anyways, at the parent meeting last time, we agreed if I was under 110 pounds, I would go STRAIGHT back to the facility for residental stay. I was residential two out of three times before, staying six months and then nine. Last time, my parents almost had the police escort me, when I refused. Anyways, I have an appointment with my psychiatrist on Saturday, and I need to gain weight. (My mom never tells me when the appointments are, so I can't try to gain weight). I NEED TO GAIN THIRTY POUNDS. IS IT POSSIBLE? HOW? I DON'T WANT TO BE THERE FOR LIKE 9 MONTHS

And then how do I lose it again?

5'11" and 110 pound 17 year old male, how can I gain weight!?

I have been skinny mostly my entire life. I realize I am very underweight, and everyone else does too. I am sick of being referred to as the skinny kid in school, and at almost 18 I should be in the best shape in my life. I don't necessarily want to become extremely muscular or anything, just not so sickly looking. I would honestly be happy if I could gain 30 pounds by my birthday in July.

I have tried protein shakes before, but to very little avail. I was on them consistently for about 2 months and gained maybe a pound, and decided it wasn't worth it. I was not working out during this time however so it wasn't like I was burning many calories either. I also do not eat too healthy, a lot of meat and potatoes and fast food--very little vegetables.

So my question is what can I do to gain weight, and become a healthy teenager? I am willing to go back of protein if that is what you suggest. Should I start lifting weights also? Will that help? Any other advice or motivation, or even success stories that you have for me would be greatly appreciated.

I have always been the cute, nice, skinny guy, but now I just want to not look so skinny and sickly anymore. I am disgusted with my body and want to become more healthy. Thanks for any help, and sorry for rambling!

I weigh 165 pounds and I want to bulk up to 175. How many grams of carbs and protein should I take?

All of them!On a real note…I weighted about 30 pounds less than you, when I started lifting about 3 years ago.Now I weigh 25 pounds more than you. (Not to compare, just trying to make a point)All because I followed some simple steps…On the left I was about 135 lb and on the right I was about 190.A 3 year difference. However at first, I really messed up.I used to copy workouts I saw in magazines, and try one every week. What a loser I was.I only ate chicken and broccoli - no room for sweets or pizza!I thought I was cool.Stop doing that.I know you’re asking about food, but in order gain weight we must look at nutrition and training together.Want to build muscle? Then 80% of your routine should be compound movements. Such as squats, rows, bench press, etc. These recruit the most amount of muscle fibers and they really push you.Stop with the lightweight, “I want to tone/tighten” crap. If you really want to bulk up and look good then you need to lift heavy.Building muscle takes time. Years, my friend. Thus you need to be consistent, eat accordingly, and sleep well. So, let’s talk about foodWhatever diet you’re following, and I hope it’s not the banana diet, prioritize high protein intake and stay hydrated. You want to eat at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.Carbs are your friend. Love them.Eat plenty of carbs; fruits, veggies, ice cream, and pasta. Don’t worry eating them at night makes no difference. For all these food you’ll be eating I highly recommend you download MyFitnessPal app to log your food, and also buy a food scale so you can track your food accurately.Eat and track you food intake until you start gaining weight gradually, and slowly!Once you do that, stick with it until your weight gain stalls - then start eating more. Also, if you want a supplement that works, take creatine monohydrate. It works.Learn how to do compound exercises correctlyTrain muscle groups 2-3x a weekHigh protein diet + stay hydratedLog your food using MyFitnessPal and a kitchen scale.Train hard, train smart.Lastly, be patient! It took me 3 years and I’m still making progress to this date.Good luck!I post daily nutrition tips, exercises, and more on my IG page, for free. I think you’ll love it - Check it out.

Bulking up workout advice?

> My question is if I am doing 8 heavy, slow reps, how many sets should I be doing?
I'd shoot for 3 per exercise.

> I have also heard that drinking a gallon of water every day helps with the bulking up process. Is this true and if so, how much does it really help?
False, calories help with the bulking process. If you're thirsty, drink and if not, don't. Remember that your body is the product of millions of years of evolution in a hostile environment. It won't let you down here.

> Also, does my weight goal seem reasonable?
Yes. You should be able to hit this in about a month or two if you do it right.

> Should it be higher or lower? I'm not really looking to get "beefcake" big.
Only you can decide this.

Best way to bulk up? (16 year old)?

Hey I'm a 16 year old boy and i do kickboxing and fencing regularly. I'm very tall (6"5) and very slim, i weigh between 66-69kg (69 at a push). As a fighter I need to be in control and aware of my weight, but my problem is that i lose weight very easily, but it is very difficult for me to gain weight. If i am ill of instance for a week or so i can easily drop a kg from not eating properly, but cannot put it back on for several weeks. Over the past month i have been doing my GCSEs which has stopped me from training. i have lost over a kg from this! I know within the next few years i should bulk up naturally but have you got any advice on how to speed up the process? My kickboxing coach said ideally i should put on 3-4 kg or muscle mass and be around 70kg comfortably, being able to come up or down in weight for fights. What sorts of foods should i completely avoid?should i try protein shakes or completely avoid them? i eat quite healthily at the moment but i also eat some fast food etc on occasion plus chocolate and fizzy drinks etc (but not in excess).

I'm sorry this is very lengthy, thanks in advance for your advice!

I'm bulking up. If I intake 3,000 calories per day for a week, how much weight will I gain in 7 days?

Hey,This will be kind of hard to find out.It depends heavily on your basic metabolic rate.Your metabolism can vary a lot depending on a lot of factors like: Physical activity, age, gender, and weight. Even food can affect it in some cases.Finding out how much calories your body needs is the first step to bulking.Let me give a real life example of 2 guys:Person #1 — he has a really fast metabolism. He was around 154 lbs and was eating around 4000–4500 kcal per day. With decent physical activity levels. The results — he was gaining around 1.5-1.7 lbs per month!Person #2 — he had a somewhat slowish metabolism. He weighed at 187 lbs and he was eating around 3500–4000 kcal per day and he had relatively the same physical activity as #1.The results — he was able to gain around 6.5 lbs per month.I think this is a good average that you can expect in terms of weight gain. Of course you can gain even more if you go overboard with the calorie intake. But the question will be how healthy is it?Do you see the difference in their weight and calories intake and the end results? And here I am talking about natural weight gain. And this is per month of course, it might not seem like much. But this is a real life example of 2 guys that didn't use any shady stuff. There is another thing though. The difference in what they have gained.I personally am not a big fan of bulking up and cutting. I prefer a steady but small muscle gain while staying lean.Using the example I gave you of the first guy. He was gaining small amounts of weight but most of it it was muscle only. His body fat percentage never changed. While #2 put on a lot of fat.Of course bulking up has been proved to work with some people but I still feel like at the end when #2 started cutting he would have gained similar to what #1 has gained in terms of muscle. That’s just my 2 cents.Be patient and try to aim for small but steady progress. I've seen people complaining and having all sorts of problems after bulking up. Sometimes when cutting they will just go back to their old weight.Maybe bulking up is not for everybody.Frank Zane said that he doesn't see any positive things about bulking and it didn't work for him. He preferred to stay lean most of the time.Miro

Is it possible to gain 11 pounds of muscle in 3 months?

If you are a beginner in the lifting world - and by your question i would assume you are - then yes you can if you follow some basic rules (and depending on your age, sex and starting weight)Use big compound movements (deadlifts, squats, push presses, bench presses, dips, rows etc). FORGET fluff exercises like curls, extensions etc.EAT. I will repeat. EAT. Unless you have a caloric surplus you CANNOT gain muscle. Good quality food, not junk. As for protein, aim for 1–1.6 grams of protein per kg (kg not pound) of bodyweight.REST. Unless you give your muscles sufficient rest time, they will not grow.Use some progression in your lifts. Since you are a begginer, progressive overload is amazing (every workout you will increase either the weight, reps or sets in that order).Use correct technique and leave ego lifting at the door. Deadlifting 100 kg with proper technique is way more beneficial (and safe) than deadlifting 120 kg with crappy one.I cannot recommend this enough StrongLifts 5x5: The Simplest, Most Effective Workout Program . I didn’t write it - i wish i had. It’s the culmination of basic exercise science. This is excellent as well Jason Blaha's Ice Cream Fitness 5x5 Novice Program . Say what you want about the guy, but his novice program is probably one of the best out there.Now..don’t think that you can keep this up forever. You are a beginner, going through what we call noob or newb gains (which are AMAZING). In your first year of lifting alone will will put on more muscle mass that you will for the rest of of your life. If you do everything correct, research has shown us that you can gain up to 30 pounds of lean muscle mass in your first year of lifting. That will apply to people with kick ass genetics and to the point structure in the lifting, eating, sleeping etc. You might not reach that, which is ok but the goal of 11 pounds in 3 months is doable.
