Bumped Car Parallel Parking

Bumped into a car while parallel parking... now what?

I was parallel parking earlier today and bumped into the car behind me. There were a lot of people around so I left a note with my name and phone number and told them to call me. I looked at their bumper, which already has scratches, a few dents and paint chipping, but nothing from what I can tell looks like I did serious damage to their car. Like if I didn't leave a not they would have never noticed.

Now I am regretting leaving a note. I don't want to get taken advantage of, and have to pay for a new bumper for this person when there was more damage to it before I hit them. I was going under 5mph (more like under 1 mph) because it was a tight spot and thought I had enough room to fit. I know that people bump other cars all the time and don't do anything, I've been in my car before when someone bumped me trying to park and they just took off.

If they do call me what should I do, I know this is gonna sound really bad, but is there anyway for me to get out of this. I didn't give them insurance info (mainly because my sister hit someone like this before left insurance info, the guy called the insurance company filed a claim and then called her and said don't worry about it. But her insurance went up and she has an accident on her record.), all they have is my phone number... can I get in trouble if I don't give it to them, but they don't really know who I am?

Parallel parking can you hit curb?

i can parallel park maybe in 2 shots 1 shot to get the car in 2nd shot to straighten it/fix it. however in order for me to do this i have to hit the curb with my wheel as i was taught. not very experienced with parking in general. I was wondering is this possible on the road test or must i do it without hitting anything including the curb. i know you can't hit cars but the curb?

again im hitting it with my rear TIRES not bumper

In the PA parallel parking test, are you allowed to bump the curb?

I have heard that bumping the curb during the parallel parking test is an automatic fail. I have also heard that you can bump the curb, but going over it is an automatic fail. Which is true?

I was pulling my car out of a parallel parking spot when a car driving down the street side-swiped me...?

Sure they can - because you are.

If the other car is traveling down the road in the proper lane of travel, you have the duty to make sure the way is clear before pulling out from your parking spot into the road way. Does not matter that you were parallel parking place. In the end, she was already established in the traffic lane and you were trying to enter it. You had to yield to her - not the other way around.

Minnesota road test parallel parking specs?

so i took my road test last friday at the plymouth dmv. i did every thing perfect according to my evaluator except on my way out of my parallel park i bumped a flag, i failed, because in real life thats an "accident", but i find it unfair because in real life you get to choose wether you want to park in a certain sized space, regardless, i know how to parallel park, except i was wondering what the measurements are for the minnesota road test so that i can practice with those at home ebfore i re take next friday, thank you for the help!

If you mess up on parallel parking, would you fail the whole test?

Question: Will you fail a drivers license test if you fail to parallel park correctly? When my kids were old enough to learn how to drive I owned a 2005 Ford E150 high top conversion van very similar to the one pictured above.I called her “The Big Girl”, my kids called her “The Beast”.Anyway, my daughter was first to learn to drive and she did very well considering how big the van was………….………except when I tried to teach her how to parallel park. The poor girl couldn’t parallel park The Big Girl and a lot of makeshift traffic cones gave their all in the many, many attempts. For the record I was able to safely parallel park the van but admittedly I always avoided that option whenever possible. My daughter failed her driving test in San Antonio, Texas twice but on the second try the DMV lady who was riding with her told my daughter that she has the option to simply say that she is not able to parallel park and then continue with the rest of the driving test.On the third try my daughter respectfully skipped on the parking part of the test and did the rest of the driving test perfectly and passed her driving test! :)When it was my sons turn I didn’t even bother trying to teach him how to parallel park and he passed his driving test on the first try by declining the parking part of the driving test.

Car backed Into my parked car trying to parallel park. I wrote down their plate as they fled the scene. There is no damage, should I forget about it?

I had a kid back right into my truck at a gas station one day, then start to drive off as if nothing had happened.I honked the horn, and he stopped. I got out and walked up to the car, and invited him to step out and talk to me, which he did. He was a young man - probably still in his teens - and was visibly shaken.I walked him back to the back of his car, and we both looked at his bumper, then at mine. As I recall, the conversation went something like this:Me : How scared are you right now?Kid : My knees are shaking.Me: (looking up at sky) : Nice day, yeah..?Kid: ...yes, sir?Me: First wreck?Kid: Uh-huh...Me: Just be glad it was me you hit, not the guy in the Lexus who'd be calling his lawyer.Kid: Y-yes, sir...Me: Have a good weekend.Whereupon I turned and got back in my truck, and watched him slowly - and carefully - leave the parking lot. There was no damage? Let it drop. It’s a beautiful day.

Hit a parked car, left to park and then came back?

When parallel parking I bumped the car behind me. I don't think I hit it very hard, but the alarm went off. Some people saw me. I left to park somewhere my car would fit better. And when I came back (within 5 mins) I left a note w/ my info. But the alarm was turned off so I think the owner must have returned before me. Is it considered a hit and run if I leave my info after leaving? I live in Washington state, by the way.

Does hitting the curb while parallel parking damage your cars tires/wheels?

I was parallel parking in the dark and I hit the curb with my front right tire two times. I was not going fast, maybe 2 to 3 mph. I think that the wheel may have slightly gone over the curb because when I backed up I felt it come off of the curb. I want to know realistically if hitting the curb like this could cause any damage to the tire or the wheel and what kind of damage? Also how much on average might the repairs cost to get the damaged fixed? I have a 2002 Mercedes Benz E320 4 matic station wagon if that helps at all.
