How to get to Knotts Berry Farm from San Fernando using public transportation?

I want to go to Knotts Berry Farm with a few friends and we need public transportation. Please be detailed in your answer, I would very much appreciate the help(:

Please Help if you live near Long Beach, CA or Buena Park, CA?

Long beach airport is your best option! I live in the area. All the teens on my block have Knott's season passes and during summer vacation. It's not uncommon for them to go 3-4 days per week. The trip takes them about 30-45 minutes by bus depending on the time of day they go. But, in late afternoon it can take about an hour. They all take the Long Beach Transit bus (191) and connect to the Orange County Transportation Authority bus (38). Starting from the Long Beach Airport, you will start on the Long Beach Transit bus (103), but that's the only difference. Long Beach Airport is 3 miles from the Lakewood Mall.

Take LBT bus 103 from the Long Beach Airport to The Southeast corner of Lakewood Blvd and Del Amo Blvd (Lakewood Mall is your landmark here) The bus stop is across Del Amo, from the JC Penny's/parking lot

From the Southeast corner of Lakewood and Del Amo board the LBT bus 191. Exit this bus on the Southwest corner of Del Amo and Pioneer (Ralph's supermarket/Del Taco is your landmark)

From the Pioneer/Del Amo stop, board the OCTA bus 38. Exit this bus on the corner of La Palma Ave and Beach Blvd. Knott's Berry Farm is on this corner.

The cost for your bus journey should be about $3.05. Long Beach Transit fares average 90 cents. OCTA runs about $1.25

It's worth noting that Del Amo Blvd and La Palma Ave are the same street. But Del Amo Blvd changes it's name to La Palma Ave at the Los Angeles/Orange County border (Which is Denni Street)

As for which airport is closer to Knott's. Long Beach Airport is 14 miles from Knott's Berry Farm. John Wayne Airport is 20.1 miles from Knott's. (according to google maps) Also, Long Beach Airport is not nearly as congested as John Wayne is. If you can get a flight into Long Beach, do it. You will not be sorry you did.

I am moving to Orange County from the SF Bay Area. What should I be aware of that is different in Orange County compared to the Bay Area?

I am curious why you would choose to live in Anaheim, Buena Park, and Westminster. Those cities reflect 1950's American suburbia: Cookie cutter housing tracts; Flat, sterile concrete environments of straight, perpendicular streets dotted with parking lots and strip malls. Those parts of Orange County are similar to the South Bay (Mountain View, Sunnyvale, certain parts of Santa Clara, San Jose).Since you mention those three cities, I will limit my discussion to them. However, it should be noted that Orange County is diverse. For example, there is the Old Towne District of the city of Orange; Anaheim Hills and Villa Park in the Northeast which is affluent; South County which is newer, and of course the beach communities. One of the major differences that I noted are the modes of transportation. In the Bay Area, you have BART, extensive bus lines, and CalTrain. Here in the OC, public transportation is woefully inadequate. There are Metrolink train lines, but they are so limited that they are useless. There are a number of bus routes, but be prepared to invest up to 3 hours of your time if you need to travel more than 20 miles. I am not kidding. My car was in for repairs one day and I had to take a bus to the office. It took me over an hour to get to my office which was only 17 miles from my home. I was lucky, as a neighbor gave me a ride to the closest bus stop, which was a little over 2 miles from my home, and I only had one transfer. Both of these routes were on major thoroughfare streets, an there was a bus stop literally right in front of my office. I can't imagine how people would to get to work on a bus if their workplace was located away from a major thoroughfare. Most people commute in their private vehicles.Which brings me to my second point: Traffic. Yes, there is traffic in the Bay Area, but it is nothing like the OC. We are talking serious gridlock in places you would not expect. We are talking Downtown San Francisco rush-hour type traffic just to get into the parking lot of Whole Foods. The OC is the only place I know of where you could have a five-car pile-up in the Starbucks parking lot. Yes, I am exaggerating, but I am not too far from the truth.
