Call From Maruti Suzuki Company For Job. Is It Fake Or Not

How we can identify a true job offer comes in quikr.com job portal?

Hi Lakshmi,Am glad you requested answer from me.Well that’s a very sad incidents but a good experience to learn from. Quikr is most famous classified portal, where also jobs are been promoted free of services and they have premium services too.To be very frank now their job promoting service has been very annoying and insecure and anyone can promote jobs without much valid restrictions.I would suggest you to register on dedicated job portals, like World of Jobs | Promoting careers . And don’t just rely on one portal, just try to register on as many as you can, so that you will receive maximum opportunities.Registering on dedicated job portals doesn’t mean that all jobs will be genuine from it, but they are mostly verified, but still you have to verify again for your safe side. And to identify genuine jobs there are some tips and tricks you can look for.Hope this helps you,Stay aware, ask questions to employers until you are satisfied.Cheers!!

Are the job posts on Quikr fake?

Job posts on Quikr may be or may not be fake. You will have to verify the authenticity for yourself.Quikr only provides a platform for listing. The platform does not control fraudsters as there is no way of knowing if someone if posting with a bad intention or the post is genuine.

If a candidate has provided fake documents of their previous employment, what action can be taken by the company?

This happened with one of my colleague few years ago who joined a reputed MNC in Bangalore. He got fake documents from an agent who ensured that if any verification happens he’ll handle it.But to his bad luck when background verification started at same time multiple fake document rackets were busted by cops over here due to which the agent ran away.My friend himself told the HR about it thinking he’ll be caught anyway. HR called him in person and asked for the resignation the very next day. That is it. He resigned and soon after joined another MNC.So only thing they can do is either ask you to resign(most likely) or may fire/blacklist from that specific company only in worst case.

I received a call from a job portal claiming to be naukri asking me to pay some money (refunable) for a telephonic interview. Should I pay?

If you are looking for a straight forward answer then The Answer is No. Not at all.Since you have now entered in your professional life and your personal details have been distributed all over may be via your Resumes or your profiles that you create on websites like Naukri.com, job.com, etc. So people have access to your Gmail and PhoneNumber.Since it is your first time that’s why you are anxious but now onwards you will get these fraud mails and calls on regular basis and these fraud mails/calls looks so original that anybody can get in trap easily. So keep ignoring them. And always crosscheck for the sender’s mail and number on Google whether it is from official or not.And It is not like that you will always get fraud calls. Sometimes Official HR and recruitment team also contacts you based on your profile but they never ask you to pay for anything and even if they somehow come up with an personal interview requirement they will book tickets for you all by themselves. But the final advice is that always crosscheck for the authenticity of the sender.Good luck For Future Interviews :-))

What is the procedure of MARUTI GET interview after passing the online exam? How do I prepare for it?

I am placed in MSIL in my campus placements. After clearing the written exam we(me and other candidates) were supposed to send an SOP(statement of purpose) which contained the reason why we wanted to pursue our careers in automobile. Later on, we had to give a power-point presentation in front of the panelist. The format of the ppt was send by the company and the presentation was to be kept short(of 3 to 5 min). We had to present or rather tell them what department would we prefer to go to and why(In order to chose the departments we were mailed a document giving details of every departments and what work it does). Everybody was supposed to give two choices in order of their preferences. Advice: Read very carefully about every department and based on your interest chose the two. You may be put in any of the two. Apart from giving preferences for departments you have to convince them that you whole heartily want to join MSIL and for praise MSIL for that by putting facts of achievements by MSIL in India and the world. Also you have to mention about your academic achievements and co curricular activities in one of the slides. The whole ppt would be of 5 slides with one "Thank You", so effectively four.  Do prepare for the presentation. Give the presentation to your friends at least 5 times after you have prepared the ppt. Keep in mind the time limit and be fluent. If you are selected for the interviews, which is held on the same day, try to take the interview in the direction you want by emphasizing on you "area of interest" in the ice breaking question which is generally "Tell me something about yourself." I went for automobiles and my interview questions were mainly from IC Engines and some systems used in cars. I could answer them comfortably. They would ask you normal questions of production engineering. Overall, the process is easy. If you give good impression in the presentation 70% of job is done.

How can a fresher mechanical engineer from a third tier college can get a job in an automobile company (like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Mahindra, Tata Motors, or Hero Motocorp) through off campus placement?

I'm currently working in MSIL(Maruti Suzuki India Limited) though as a GET(Graduate Engineer Trainee) and will be confirmed next year(most probably). I'd been in MSIL through campus recruitment process and this is the only way for a fresher(Graduates) to start his career here, no off campus placements for freshers. Some of my friends also got recruited in Hero Motocorp, Honda and Ashok Leyland through campus placements. There are some people(my college seniors) too who have got the job as a fresher in Honda Off-campus, as they have posted their resumes on sites such as naukri.com and all, and then based on their Resumes, the company called them( HR people, obviously) for interview and they got the job. Beware of the fake calls(there are many fake calls like you've got the job or  we'll arrange you an interview based on your resume but first you have to deposit some security money, etc, etc).Hope this helps somewhat...

What is background verification and how does it work?

Disclaimer: I work for a company that does Background Verification for the Blue/Grey Collar & Contract Workforce in India, hence my answer is based on our experience with ~ 1 Million such cases. We check for the following 3 things(Bluntly speaking - We have learnt that doing 100 different things is a waste of time/money, and doing just these 3 checks reduces the risks dramatically)ID check via Aadhaar - check if the person whom he/she claims to be is the same person. Aadhaar has the lowest fake rates (less than 1%). It is highest for Driving Licences (~20%), Voters ID is next (10–15%) and even PAN numbers are fake (~3%). Just go with Aadhaar - It covers 98% of the population and improving as we speak. If someone says they don't have Aadhaar, high likely he/she is lying.Permanent Address Check - check if the address is genuine, and if the person or his/her family (high likely) is staying in that address. Ask Neighbours. Checking for current or temporary address is a waste because of the migratory nature of this segment - large % of our population migrate from villages to Tier-1 cities, many a times across states.Criminal Antecedent Checks - check court records across India if there has been any criminal case against the individual. Do factor in the relevancy to the job and also the migratory trail. this does not account for the un-reported cases. but this is the best you can do.Read this article on why other checks are not importantThe Most important part - do not just bank on background checks as the be-all end-all holy grail, because this is only the past. More important to monitor the individual in the present state. Invest in other trust building activities like assessments, trainings, attendence management, financial services, etc because your larger objective is to continuously improve productivity/reduce attrition vs. just weeding out bad elements, which is just the starting point. Hope it helps ?
