Calling Starbucks Management After Applying

Calling Starbucks Manager for Job: What do I ask?

applied for a job at my local starbucks for a seasonal position. After taking my application, the barista working gave me the manager's phone number and told me to give her a call. Now, when I call the manager, what exactly do I ask? Do I ask about the status of my application? Because it's only been two days and I was under the impression I was supposed to wait for their call (as you can probably tell it's my first job application).

Applied for a job at Starbucks online, how long should I wait to call the manager?

I called a Starbucks around my house and they said they are hiring. THey told me that the applications are online, i filled out the application today. I'm afraid that since it's online that they won't get back to me. Did anyone ever fill out an application to Starbucks online and get a call back? How long should I wait for them to call me back? I REALLY want this job because I like making coffee and talking to people. The environment is great! Should I give them a few days, a week to get back to me? If they dont' get back to me in a while, should I call or go to the store and ask them about it? Thanks!

Should I go check my Starbucks application?

You should physically walk into the store, not phone. This shows the manager or asst manager who may be on duty that you care about this job and you want it a lot, not just one of those "drop off my resume for a temporary job at a bunch of locations."

When you get to the front, you will most likely be talking to a barista. First state that you have handed in your application along with your resume about a week ago and haven't heard a reply. Do not seem rude and demand to see the manager. The barista most likely will not know about the status of your application (because they just take it in, and forward it to the manager). At this point, you may ask politely to see the manager and inquire if he/she has reviewed your application.

Remember, dress appropriately, some managers may do a small upfront interview. My friend applied to a company and did an interview on the spot. Speak politely and respect the manager. Do not get confrontational if the manager has not reviewed your application or if your application has been rejected. You want to leave a good impression so when they do get around to looking at it, they will be more likely to hire you.

I applied online for starbucks-now what??

Hi there, I'm 16 years old...and I just applied yesterday to Mcdonalds and Starbucks to 4-5 locations that said were hiring and, I was wondering how long will it take for them to get back to me? Or do I have to call them back? If so, how many days or weeks?
Also...i applied at around 3 locations for Mcdonalds and i got no calls whatsoever...so i don't know I guess they weren't interested in hiring me? I have no experience whatsoever too...
Please help me...I'm in a desperate need of a job, and i struggle with being a little shy..which i'm worried it might affect my chances of getting a job....can you guys leave any tips?

Thank you so much, xoxo <33

Should I call Starbucks to check on the status of application every week, despite being full on staff and having no positions to fill?

Drop by, they get to see your face, and they can’t say “sure, I will let the manager know” and hang up. Oftentimes stores are very busy and forget to pass on the message. When you stop by, the manager will make the time to talk to you and shows more effort and dedication on your part as well. Even if there are no positions at the moment, there is so much movement throughout Starbucks that there definitely will be soon. Please avoid stopping by during peak rushes!!! I’ve had many aspiring partners stop by and nearly insist on having a conversation with my manager when there is a line out the door. This shows poor judgement and prioritization. At the very least, it is stressful, inconvenient, and inconsiderate for our business. That said, you don’t have to have a full conversation every time you drop by, just a reminder to keep your name on the radar!I would also recommend sending your application to a few other locations in the area if there are any, you may not get the job at the location you want but you’re more likely to get hired.Stopping by in person also gives you the opportunity to get to know your soon-to-be coworkers, makes the first day on the job a little easier!Best of luck!!

Starbucks' employees are primarily young. How likely is it for a 40-something to get a job there as a barista? Target is known for not hiring this age range. Is Starbucks the same?

Starbucks doesn’t have any rules about hiring specific age groups (aside from those who are too young to work).Starbucks managers are looking for people who can work at a fast pace for long periods of time, and people who are upbeat even when under pressure, naturally bubbly, willing to strike up a conversation with customers, and have a positive attitude. You’ll probably notice a lot of young people work at Starbucks, because the company is a great flexible job for college students. Especially since (at least in Canada) you can receive benefits for only working part time. This doesn’t mean that middle-aged individuals can’t work at Starbucks. In fact, it could put you at an advantage over younger people with less experience! You just have to play your cards right. In my experience, it’s all about the attitude. Not only when it comes to getting the job, but succeeding in the job, too.

Do professional baristas get upset at Starbucks employees calling themselves baristas?

Let me just say that the newer barista have no idea what coffee is or where it comes with and how to pair it or how it taste without milk and sugar. I say this because when I WAS working for Starbucks it was different from how they trained me.I started in November 24, 2007, and my training consisted of the basis of the drinks and what they were, how to say it and knowledgeable things I needed to know from a series of workbooks, I had coffee training classes, training classes outside the store I was training at. I was extensively prepared and trained at the end became a Certified barista. I opened my store December 10, 2007.However, this is different for from person to person. I personally went out of way to learn the coffees and regions and taught myself how to sell a product without lying that good..I hate that. I'm always honest to the customer. My managers said I was a natural and raw talent. To bad I was in school they wanted me to have my own store. However, that was their goal not mine. However, around 2010 they just said let's train them and throw them in their..They started to be too customer focus for me and I stayed in the same store until I left.In return, I never heard any professional barista putting down Starbucks barista. Starbucks Baristas compete in the same competition as professional barista ( I dont like this term) it implies that Starbucks barista aren't professional. I work as a barista in a bakery yes they have a manual espresso machine and I have to tap the shots, which is cool. However, the machine is calibrated to pull short shots and each shot is less then 4oz, which is horrible. The only thing I didn't know was a quartado everything else I knew. I’ve worked with coffee shop baristas and they say that their is really no difference except the setting, the training is differently similar (), and how serious you take your job. If you enjoy it then a barista is a barista one maybe local or brand.

Does Starbucks interview even when they're not planning on hiring immediately? I had a really good interview and this idea has been bothering me.

It definitely doesn't mean you’ve been rejected. you have to remember that we’re all human, and store managers have a never-ending stack of paperwork and task lists, one of which is follow-through with potential hires. Some possible scenarios are:The particular manager you've interviewed with doesn't have a spot for you currently at their store. Maybe your availability isn't compatible for the needs of the store, maybe they need someone to stick around for longer than the summer, maybe the store is turning into 21-and-older (Evening stores have age restrictions because of alcohol being served) and you're only 19. They liked you, but have to find a spot at another store and co-ordinate with that manager. They’re up to their ears in hiring paperwork. My store manager is the hiring manager for all of our district, which is 12 stores and a lot of people. So he co-ordinates hiring for all those stores, which is no quick and easy task. You have no idea how many candidates he has to sift through/call-back/schedule interviews for/start onboarding and there's just a backlog sometimes.Bad timing. They might be out of the store for a few days off, have meetings scheduled, be catching up on work for their store that doesn't involve hiring new people, or simply be exhausted and not have enough hours in the day or the weekend to think about calling the new hire back and setting up training. You might have gotten lost in the shuffle. It happens.I wouldn't lose hope, especially if you've just had the interview. just do a follow-up phone call or visit If you don't hear back by the time you were given. my original manager loved me to pieces in the interview and it took him a week to get a call-back.

Will the caller id say starbucks when they call?

Will it? Because I have been waiting on a call back from a establishment and I have yet to recieve a call, Will it say starbucks and then number or just the number? and I should I memorize it then? Also how long should I wait before I call again? because I called the manger once on monday and she said she will basically get back to me, and it is now well tuesday...I didn't wait long I know but she asked for my name like right then and there and it seemed like she was going to look over my application that very day and call but she didn't so Im bit worried starbucks is like my dream job and I live VERY close to the one I applied to.0r do managers normally take awhile to get back to you?

I have applied to multiple locations at Starbucks and still heard nothing back from anyone. What should I do?

How long ago did you apply? If it's been up to 10 days, I wouldn't worry about it because we've been dealing with Frappuccino Happy Hour and starting the summer promotion launch, so I can’t imagine that most store managers have a lot of time to look through applications, especially if they don't have an assistant manager to share in the workload. Some managers can be sluggish about looking for applicants, too.If it's been over 10 days and you haven't heard anything back - no call, no email - I'd stop in the store, ask for the manager, and remind them that you put in an application and was wondering If they saw it yet? Make sure you talk to the manager though, and if they're not there, come back when they are. I'm a shift supervisor (two steps down from a store manager) and I've had several applicants approach me when my manager isn't there, I've told them to come back when he's in the store (I can't give out specific shifts but I can tell you the daypart), and then they disappear. How's your availability? Is it too constricted? You don't have to be availible 24/7 but you do need to be flexible and the more available you are, the better your chances of getting hired. If you set your availability as 4 hours a day and aren't willing to start earlier or stay later, no store manager that I've ever worked with will hire you.
