How many calories are in 100 g of cooked rice?

Rule number 1 of calorie counting is calculate calories for raw weight. Why?Well, the way you cook, the duration of cooking can drastically change the way how much your food weighs. If you remove it 2 mins sooner or 5 mins later, the weight will change but if you calculate the raw weight, irrespective of how you cook, the calorie will be the same. Then you just need to calculate the calories of anything extra you would have added into it.Are you on your journey to get fit and healthy? What else is as healthy as a tomato that is not a tomato?

A lot of things! There is no one perfect food that's better than all others. The closest example of a perfect food is an egg followed by milk. Why? Because an egg has the needed nutrients to start a new life and milk because it has all the nutrients for needed for growth of a human or animal baby until it's developed enough to transition to solid foods. But let's get back to vegetables. Tomatoes are a good source of vitamins A, C and K, and potassium. They also contain valuable phyto-chemicals like lycopene and lutein that protect against some cancers and against macular degeneration. What about broccoli? It's also a good source of vitamins A, C and K (more K than tomatoes) and potassium as well as some of the B vitamins. It also has, compared to tomatoes, more of the valuable phytochemicals that we currently know about, many that are important anti-oxidants. Broccoli and tomatoes aren't the only healthy foods - there are quite a few that are especially healthy. Do you remember how we used to be told to eat dark green leafy vegetables? It's not just dark green ones that are good for us but all dark fruits and vegetables. We know now that these plant pigments are high in anti-oxidants and other phyto-chemicals that have protective and healing effects even if some of their vitamins and minerals aren't as high as other vegetables.

How many tomatoes should I eat a day to get a healthier & fairer skin?

What is calorie count of 1 block (70g) of Maggi? On packet it mentions 450 kcal for 100gm, but not whether cooked or raw?

The value given on packets is always for the raw form of the item & moreover the calories from raw & cooked food remain same till we do not add oil or any other source of calorie to it like adding peas to Maggie. The measuring amounts mentioned on packets are always for absolute values like 50g, 100g, 200g or 500g. Incase a consumer needs to calculate the calorie count for any intermediary measure amount then they will have to calculate it on their own. For eg, if 100g Maggie packet mentions 450 Cal then for 70 g it will be 315 Cal.

How do I calculate calories in Indian food specially Maharashtrian food because it has so much variety of curries and others?

Q: How do I calculate calories in Indian food specially Maharashtrian food because it has so much variety of curries and others?A: Indian food items are full of different ingredients which makes counting the calories a bit difficult.Let's assume you're making a Vada pav(Maharashtrian enough?) and you need to count its calories. Isn't it a task!!Let me show you how this can be done.Step 1: Calculate the calories of the ingredients RAW.Suppose you're taking 100g boiled potatoes, 50g besan flour, some chilles, garlic cloves, ginger paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to make the Vada.Take 100g RAW potatoes macros and calculate the calories. Take 50g besan flour calories which is almost equal to 50g bengal gram calories.Weigh the quantity of ginger and garlic cloves and then count the calories. If the quantity is very less, you can choose to ignore it.Similarly the macros/ calories of the masalas like turmeric and chilli powder can be ignored.Step 2: Prepare your mixture (boil, steam, roast as per your dish requirement) and then you can fry it.Step 3: Measure the amount of oil that you'll be using for frying purpose.Fry your Vadas and measure the remaining oil. The difference between the weights is the amount utilised for frying. Let's suppose it was 50g oil. Calculate the calories of the oil.Similarly, calculate the calories for the chutney and Pav. Pav macros can be directly googled because usually we don't prepare it at home. You can use apps like myFitness Pal for calculating each ingredient calories or you can directly google it.Seems tiring right? Because the food item chosen is not so healthy.Counting calories for a dal would be much easier. Measure raw dal, measure onions and tomatoes, take 15–20g oil and done!!Counting macros and calories of rice is just nothing! Raw rice measured and boiled, that's it!These are the rules/ values I follow:If it's green and leafy no need to count calories.1g protein/ carbs: 4 calories1g fat: 9 caloriesFor any further assistance and personalized plans you can write to me at prateek.mewada@gmail.comHope this helps..:)

How many calories in an 8 oz grilled filet mingnon?

What happens if I eat just salads, like cucumbers, tomatoes & carrots, three times a day for 30 days?

There’s a lot of conjecture here. I’ve done this, and I lost a pound a day, reaching my target weight in only three weeks, and then I’ve been able to keep it off successfully. Penn Jillette did this when his doctor suggested severe surgical changes, and he lost a pound a day, for 120 days. He lost 120 pounds in only a few months, and he’s kept it off through normal sensible eating ever since. Carl Lagerfeld did the same. Just through diet. Lots of people say you’ll be hungry all the time — I have not found that to be the case. I eat all the veggies I want, I’m never hungry, I have tons of energy. Best of all, you don’t spend months whining about those ten pounds you want to lose. You lose them quickly and spend your time and energy on things that are more interesting to you. You can easily get enough protein, vitamins and minerals through vegetables like spinach, fruits and seeds like quinoa. Try it. Why not?Penn wrote a book on his experience, which I haven’t read, but I’m sure there’s more information there if you want some. Presto!: How I Made Over 100 Pounds Disappear and Other Magical Tales: Penn Jillette: 9781501140181: Amazon.com: BooksDiets are weird. Everyone has an opinion on what YOU should do. I can’t tell you how many people marvel at my weight loss, ask what I did, and then tell me that what I did would never work. Um, obviously it did. :) You be you.

Is it dangerous to eat raw carrots? Are there any direct consequences to eating too many raw carrots?

You said "too many" in the subheading, so let's answer that question.Cooked or raw, carrots are good for you. There is no danger besides, as Phil said, of choking.Eat too many of these or other healthy fruits and vegetables, however, and you get Carotenaemia. I'm not making the name up: it's an overabundance of carotenoids in your body. These are the pigments that make carrots orange, and if you get too many in your body your skin turns orange too! That's it, though. There's no other symptom. Avoid the diet of daily bags of carrots [cooked or raw] and your skin will return to normal. The amount you'd have to eat to get this condition is extremely high, so I wouldn't worry about it. And if you do want to turn orange, there are faster ways…PS: Raw veggies have more nutrients than cooked ones (as the nutrients leach out into the water or oil used to cook them), unless they've been microwaved or made into a soup you drink, so are probably better for you. However, raw food is more likely to cause food poisoning if poorly prepared, so wash your carrots before eating them, then do with them as you wish.
