I must apologize in advance regarding my views as it is not my intention to criticize anyone but to simply analyze the state of TV “Sinetron “ in Indonesia. Simply put, I am of the opinion that Sinetrons are poisonous and have indeed poisoned the people of Indonesia. Some of the reasons why I feel so are,Show Ratings: TV stations and operators don’t seem to care about show content as well as the audience, as they appear more focused on Show ratings as well as Profits. In my opinion, it is important, to determine if the TV program is appropriate for the expected audience.Poisonous Influence: Sinetron’s today negatively affect the mindset, psychology and behavior of the children and young people. The lavish lifestyles displayed in Sinetrons has made them care so much about money. In my opinion, this kind of lifestyle may not lead to happiness. There are also a lot of negative influences such as scenes where, fights, brawls, insults, violence, hedonistic lifestyles, drug use, alcohol consumption, smoking and many other vices are promoted.Poorer Morals: The theme of most Sinetrons also revolve around sex and romance. As a result, there are a lot of romantic scenes showing sexual promiscuity and night life (No offense as I am one of those people who doesn’t like nightlife and discotheques, as I believe it isn’t useful to the mind in anyway).Illogical Elements: A lot of things in Sinetrons simply do not make sense. Several scene show illogical dreams depicting things I consider imaginary such as luck and fate. A lot of teenagers struggle with the debilitating power of such influences.Laziness: As a result of addiction to Sinetrons, many people become lazy towards exercise.Having previously lived in Japan, I feel TV content there is quite as regards it quality. Most TV stations are not focused on producing Sinetrons rather they channel their efforts towards creativity. When I lived in Indonesia, I didn’t own a TV. My children sometimes watched TV at the neighbours place but I was careful not to expose the children to “Sinetron “and other poisonous TV content. I prefer watching YouTube, as I have more control over what I watch there.

Cameras will NOT be cheaper in Japan ! In fact, in many cases they will be higher. Do you know why ? It's because most cameras are no longer made in Japan. My Nikon P90 was made in Indonesia. My Nikon D5000, Thailand. My 55-200mm lens, China. It's only a myth that electronics are cheaper. Maybe back in the 1960's, but those days are long gone.
