Can A Group Of 14 Year Olds Go To Chicago By Themselves For 1 Night

Is there any way to get a hotel room under 18 (17 years old) in the US?

Every hotel may have in its own hotel policy a minimum age requirement, be it 18 or 21. However, there has been a trend with at least one lawyer having a 14 year old call the hotel; the 14 year old had his own credit card and state ID. With the hotels that refused to rent a room to him, the lawyer then took over and sued the hotel for age discrimination.Legally speaking, if someone was able to present all of the requirements that any other guest is required to present (we require only a government issued ID and a credit card), then if a hotel were to refuse, it could find itself under scrutiny.I do know that some states, such as Texas, that does have statutes on its books that allows each hotel to set a minimum age (even 25, if they’d like). Under this statute, it continues on to state that guests under 18 will have their parents held liable for any damages caused by a negligent child/Yes, I do know that minors cannot legally enter into contract; we are caught between the proverbial rock and a hard place on this one.I will give you the following reference to substantiate my assertions in this presentation: Jonathan Asselin-Normand .

Can a 14 year old go to jail for fighting?

Doubt you will go to jail but you could be charged for assault...
obviously depending on if you deny it and if there's any proof of them hitting first or you hitting first..

Chicago birthday party?

for my birthday i was gonna ask a few friends to go to chicago. i know some possibilites of what we could do. not all of these at the same time of coarse but:
navy pier
sears tower skydeck
shop
modern at wing
millenium park
shed aquarium
ice skating
hancock for lunch or dessert
okay these sound like expensive things but i mean everyone would pay for themselves and we only do like one of these things because if i did all of this i would end up spending SO much money its not even funny. I know chicago like the back of my hand but does anyone know of some other fun things to do with my friends (maybe guys and girls). i will be 15. i know i sound young but my parents trust me with this and ive been to chicago hundreds of times

My daughter would like to go to the Fall Out Boy concert for her 14th birthday. I'm only familiar with a couple of their songs and I was wondering if anyone knows if they are appropriate for this age group? i.e., bad lyrics, suggestive moves, etc. Thank you.

Do police sometimes send in under-aged people to stores to check if the stores are IDing?

When I was 19 my friends and I would take turn to hang out in front of the liquor store in our neighborhood and ask people who were going in if they would buy six pack for me. Most people would say no, but eventually someone would. (In our defense, this was in Illinois, where you had to 21 to buy beer; meanwhile you could buy beer in Wisconsin at 18. Presumably Wisconsin understood that if the government expects an 18 year to die for their country, they ought to be able to have a beer.) One night it was my turn. After several people declined, a middle aged guy emerged from a car. When I asked him to buy me a six pack, he sized me (I was fairly clean cut at the time) and then pulled out a Chicago Police badge. My knees went weak and my heart was pounding. This was it … I’m getting arrested. Instead, he said, “It’ll cost you five bucks … plus the cost of the beer. (That was a lot in 1970; I think that the beer cost less than $1.50.).” I handed him the money without hesitation and he disappeared into the store. While I waited for him I looked at his car. Sure enough, it was an unmarked police car. He came out pretty quickly, handed me the beer, and said, “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do,” and left with my change. So in 1970, at least some on the police force were not wasting their time worrying about guys drinking beer who were old enough to be in the army.Meanwhile, from previous experience, the guy in the store would take one look at you as you walked in, point at the door and say, “Get outta here.”
