Can A Guy Rush A College Fraternity At 30 Years Old

Can a community college student join a frat in another university?

College fraternaties have chapter charters assigned to specific college/university campuses. If you are not an enrolled student at the campus where you may wish to be considered for an offer of membership by a fraternity, you will not be eligible.

To be offered membership in a fraternity, after being enrolled at the particular campus, you would have to go through "rush" a process where fraternity members meet you and evaluate you as a potential future member. If the fraternity does not extend a membership offer to you, you cannot join it. It's not like joining Boy Scouts.

Also, be sure to have money saved up to pay any fraternity initiation fee and regular dues.

I joined a college sorority as an undergraduate and understand the process and the costs.

Fraternities at Elon University?

I am a freshman here at Elon and I had some general questions relating to fraternities. First off, do I need to know the brothers before rush in order to get a bid. It seems like a lot of freshman already seem to know brothers but I don't...lol. Also, how exactly does rush work. I know you go around to general meet and greet type things but what else happens?

Then in terms of pledging and hazing, how do the different fraternities do it? I've heard that Sig Ep, DU don't haze, is this true? What about the others? What does the pledge process/hazing consist of?

How would you rate the fraternities? It seems that DU and ZBT are the jokes on campus, but I kinda like them. Could you guys provide any kind of description of the types of guys that join the different frats?

But what I really want to know is how hard is it to get a bid? Are some frats easier to get into than others? If so, could you provide some specifics?

Thank you very much.

Fraternity and sorority age requirements?

Once you go greek, you are one for life. As long as you are an undergrad, you are ok. Why didn't you do this during your first undergraduate degree?

What's it like being in a sorority or fraternity?

I want to join a sorority this spring, but I have never really known what it's like. My mom is afraid for me to join because she thinks I'm going to get into drinking and partying, but I know not all sororities are like that what is it like and what should i expect and what should I do to get in please be honest!
