This depends on how they find out and what they think of it. If it’s because I’ve demonstrated my ability, I may be met with surprise, shock, disbelief, and sometimes anger. If it’s because I’ve been introduced to them as such, “This is my friend, Cedric. He’s a professional psychic,” I’m met with surprise, shock, disbelief, and sometimes anger.Sometimes, I’m asked to prove my ability. I find this insulting. For example, I was at a local festival a few years back. I was introduced to a young woman who, instead of saying hello and what her name was, said “I heard you’re a psychic. Prove it.”Now, does anyone anywhere else ever do that when they meet someone? Do mathematicians deal with this? “I heard you’re a mathematician. Throw down some formulas. RIGHT NOW.” How about engineers? “Oh, you’re an engineer? Yeah right. You probably don’t even know the allowable stress in the steel beams holding up this building.” Doctors? “Oh, you’re a cardiologist, are you? Tell me: do I have a heart murmur? You don’t know, do you?” Plumbers? “Yeah, you think you’re a plumber? Because you supposedly fix water pipes and hook appliances and fixtures up to the city water supply? Why don’t you fix my pipes? From this reception hall. Right now. Two hours away from my house. Without any tools. But you can’t, because you’re not actually a plumber.”It’s not always a good idea to ask a psychic to do a cold reading of you on the spot in an attempt to embarrass them, because I’m going to pick up on the most salient, strongest signal, and it’s not going to be pretty. I don’t spare anyone’s feelings anymore.“Prove it, Mr. Psychic.”“Your husband knows. His lawyer told him not to say anything until the papers are filed with the court.”They’re not married anymore. Psychic experts believe that if you really miss someone you love, they actually get to know or feel that you're missing them or want to talk to them. They give a theory of energy which we radiate from ourselves which reaches the point where it's directed. Is this true? Can we influence the people we love?
Yes. We do it everyday in ways we just aren't aware of. I think it was Maya Angelou on Oprah who said, "You are responsible for the energy you bring into the room." Other people feel our energy, just as we feel theirs. As for directed energy, there is a principal in Huna (an Hawaiian philosophy) that says, "Energy flows where attention goes." So, yes, if we focus on someone we love or care about, and who we are even more energetically connected to because of that, there is a chance they may be influenced by those thoughts.How many times have you been thinking of someone a lot, and then all of a sudden they call? That is a perfect example of it. Now whether you are thinking of them and they got the 'message', or whether they were thinking of you, and you picked it up is hard to tell, but it shows that we are connected energetically to others.What we can't do, however, is control someone. So, we can't just say, "I'm going to think about this person and what I want them to do and they will do it." Because everyone also has free will. You cannot influence someone to do something they wouldn't do on their own. If you are trying to do that, you are trying to control them, and energy doesn't work that way. In fact, it works just the opposite. If your intent is to control, and it is not something they would probably think of, or be willing to do on their own, then there is an automatic block or conflict that arises. Just the energy of wanting to control another sets up that conflict. So, yes, our energy can, and does, influence other people all the time, but directed energy with the intent to control, does not. Has a psychic ever made an accurate prediction for you?
I went to see a psychic when I was much younger. I found her pamphlet at my friend’s apartment, which listed that she’d been on T.V. and had helped the police solve crimes. She predicted things that did come true for me, such as the fact that I’d have two boys and the age I’d be when I had them.The strange part is that I was having lunch with my father and told him about this psychic. My father had spent his life as a staunch atheist but was at that time a broken man, due to a lawsuit that threatened his career and would eventually render him bankrupt. I thought he would make fun of me for seeing a psychic, so I was surprised when he blurted out:“Give me her information; I want to see her!”He never forgot what she told him, which was something to the effect of:“I’m not sure what you do for a living, but it’s a humanitarian endeavor. The thing is, even though you’re highly respected for your profession, you hate it and always have. It’s actually the equivalent of a prison sentence you’ve had to serve for crimes you committed in past lives. However, you’ve served your sentence and are about to be released. Even though you’ve hated ‘being in prison’ all these years, you’re fighting your release, but you will not win. Your karmic debt has been paid off and you will now go free; there is nothing you can do to stop this from happening. After your release, you’ll work with those who have difficulty coping in this new world of ours.”She told him some other things, but that is not the crazy part.
