Can A Rabbit Live Indoors During The Week And Outside At The Weekends

How long can rabbits live without eating or drinking?

Not long. Their digestive system begins to shut down after 12 hours without food, but the dehydration would kill them before starvation. Time to death would depend on how well-hydrated the rabbit was to start with and the weather conditions. They're likely to die within only a day or two, or even less in hot weather.

My Rabbit keeps on pooing we no she dont have diaree, Could anybody help us?

My first question would be "Is she potty trained?". It might seem obvious to say "She is not." but if she IS using her litter box then the droppings she is depositing outside her cage are most likely territorial droppings.

It is easy to recognize the difference. The litter box poops will more likely be in a loose pile. The territorial droppings will be one here, one there but you'll still probably find quite a lot when she gets out to play. That's totally normal. Every house rabbit owner deals with it. The poops are so benign, though. Just pick 'em up and toss them in her litter box.

If you feel that she is litter box pooping outside her cage (finds a corner and hunkers down and leaves a pile) then restrict her to her cage a while longer until her litter box skills are excellent (no poops outside the box). You will also want to place a litter box in any corners of the house that she has decided to make her toilet.

Hope that helps and answers your question.

How old do indoor cats live to be?

Indoor domesticated cats can live, barring unforeseen health issues, between 10–20 years. That’s a large window of time, so to narrow it down, you have to take the cat’s individual breed, individual health, and individual living environment into account. Even then, you can only narrow that gap down with those factors taken into account by a couple of years on either side.My great-grandmother had an outdoor tom cat, ragged as the day is long, blind in one eye, a chunk missing out of his ear, lumpy, crusty, missing patches of fur, a purr like an old truck with a loose timing belt, and seriously looking like a stand-in from the movie Pet Semetary. For all that, he was the most friendly, affectionate cat… if you could get past the eerie resemblance to the devil cat mentioned above. He’d come in and eat and then go back outside and wander around… he killed snakes, mice, rats, birds, you name it, which always confused the heck out of me because he looked like taking on a rat would put him down for the count.Anyway, long story short and probably a hideous mental image… that darn cat lived to be 25 years old and even that I’m not 100% certain of as he just disappeared one day and didn’t come back. We assumed he just ran out of steam somewhere and after no luck when looking for him for several days, we hung our hats and raised our glasses (milk glass for me since I was a kid at the time) to that mangy, lovable, flea-bitten, friendly old guy. He certainly wasn’t a looker, but something in his genetics was good… or, he was really the cat from Pet Semetary and we never realized it.

How long can a cat survive without food and water before dying?

Cats can last a short while without food and can potentially survive for weeks without eating. Water is far more necessary to their health and physical well-being however, and a cat that goes more than a few days without anything to drink might not survive. If you're worried that a cat hasn't been eating or drinking, and it's not showing any signs of being starved or dehydrated, then try offering it a can of tuna water - don't buy the tuna in oil - and see if you can encourage them to drink that way. Not only the water will hydrate them, it'll also contain some much-needed nutrients from the fish. Otherwise, you should take the animal to a vet. The consequences of inadequate food and water can be dire. Why? A cat who hasn't eaten for a while is considered to be starving, and starvation may have a damning physical effect on the cat's entire system. The same is true of dehydration, only the onset of dehydration is much quicker - and far more severe - than that of starvation. Every organ in the feline body relies on water and the nutritional content of food to properly function. Every single one. Starved and dehydrated organs will steal energy and water from the rest of the cat's body, a process that slows as the cat's bloodstream becomes less liquid itself. When feline organs lack sufficient food and fluids to function on the most basic level, they dry up and begin to shut down. Not only could this send the body into shock, it might cause irreversible damage to the cat's organs. If a starving and/or dehydrated cat does not receive swift treatment, it may face permanent health issues - if it survives at all. These are uncomfortable thoughts. They're scary. But it's important to state them as blankly as possible because you never want to take chances with a cat's intake of food and water.

Can you leave a pair of guinea pigs on their own for a weekend?

Can you leave a pair of guinea pigs on their own for a weekend?Thank you for the question.I wouldn’t do this now……However, I did do this as a teenager, as I had nobody I could trust to care formy guinea pigs when I went on holidays. But if you do leave them for a week end, they need a temperature controlledroom, with a reliable air conditioner/heater machine. They need the temperature controlled room, as theycan get sick or die from being too hot or too cold.Guinea pigs need a very large indoor cage, to leave them for the weekend, at home.Guinea pigs also need lots of hay and some grass.Lots of guinea pig pellets, and heaps of vegetables: Carrots, broccoli, parsley, . Some fruit:tomato, apple, pear and banana. They also need a very large indoor cage, with lots of news paper at the bottom. They need chopped hay, like muslie. Not long pieces of hay, as this could cause an eye injury, if it gets in their eye.The guinea pig cages with ramps can be dangerous, as they can fall off a ramp.Do not leave your guinea pigs in a cage with ramps.Multiple water bottles, and 2 water bowls, that are wide and heavy, and ceramic. They sit in the water bowls to cooldown, when they get too hot.If they are pregnant, or tend to fight, do not leave them for a week end. They each need their own separate hiding place, so that they can have space from each other. One guinea pig might potentially die of loneliness. Two guinea pigs willprobably be alright, if they are well bonded, if you go away for the weekend, and leave them at home.I hope that this answers your question.

Keeping a rabbit with untamed rabbits?

First and foremost, if you are against raising rabbits for meat, this is not the place to complain about it. I'm a vegetarian myself but meat is meat and a regular part of most people's diet.

So, my grandpa raises rabbits. He takes very good care of them, however they live in groups indoors in pens in a building that also has our hay loft and chicken coop. They're not tame because they're not pets. They'll tolerate being handled for the vet and getting picked up, but generally when you come in they start stamping their feet and they scratch something awful.

I'm thinking of getting a rabbit of my own, a different breed (thinking a flop of some sort), and eventually having them be with the other rabbits, since otherwise I don't know where I'd put him. I'd like my pet one to be tame but I'm only at home for the weekends. Would keeping them with the others make him hard to tame/train?

Thanks for the insight!

Can I leave my bunny alone at home for a weekend?

No. Bunnies are fragile creatures. They need someone with them for many reasons. A bunny digestive system is fragile and can stop working properly very fast for many reasons. If that happens the bunny will be in stasis and will need a vet really fast. So as a bunny owner you need to always make sure your bunny poops enough everyday. A weekend is too long. If you come back after a weekend and your bunny has stopped pooping, it'll probably be too late to bring him to a vet.Another reason why not is that a bunny can get frightened fast and will need you to be there if he gets scared of something. Also, the water may get spilled and it would be very bad if you bunny was without water for 2 days.A bunny can't stay in their cage all day, they need at least 4 hours out of their cage.If you are going to go for a weekend, try finding a trusted family member to come feed and play with the bunny everyday. Make sure they know how to care for a bunny and also how to tell if a bunny is sick or in pain. You should also leave them the phone number of a bunny vet in your area. Make sure it's a real bunny vet. This site has lots of info on rabbits and also a list of bunny vets. House Rabbit Society

What age can rabbits get pregnant?

No rabbit should be sold before it is 8 weeks (2 months) old. At 4 weeks they still need their mother's milk. It is wrong to sell kits that young.

At this young of an age it is hard to tell what sex they are. But a rabbit can become pregnant as young as 12 weeks. This is very dangerous and will result in the death of the doe. They are too young to deliver a healthy litter of kits and still survive since they are still growing themselves at that age.

Does should not be allowed to breed until they reach 75% of their adult weight which is usually around 6 months of age. Bucks can be used to breed starting at 5 months but it is better to wait until they reach puberty, at around 6 months also.

If they are walking like they are crippled then they are crippled. A healthy month old kit is more than able to hop and move around normally. Sounds like you got 2 very sick rabbits. If you bought them from a pet store- take them back and get your money back. Then find an ARBA breeder near you to purchase some healthy, pedigreed rabbits. You will be much happier in the end.
These 2 sound like they are not healthy enough to make it very long.

ARBA is the American Rabbit Breeders Association

ARBA holds rabbit shows every weekend all over the country. you should be able to find a show near you on the website.

I am feeling lonely and depressed. I am living alone, go to work alone, and rent a house alone. What should I do about this situation?

For about six months I was feeling the same way as you. My depression and sense of loneliness was a reaction to my situation at the time. Reactive depression means that you know the reasons that are making you feel depressed but have very little control over them at that particular time.If I am feeling depressed (not sleeping properly or too much, no energy, empty) then I break my feelings down into more manageable pieces, try to sort them into ; things I have some control over and those that I just don't have control over right now. So this is what I did;Living alone; as loneliness is isolation then I decided that I would advertise for a housemate . Don't just choose someone out of desperation because you are sharing your home with this person. I knew who would be a good fit for me and the new housemate and I get along well with mutual respect being very important.I wasn't going out enough so I went to the cinema by myself to see a film that I really wanted to see. I am now feeling better because I am working on myself. Baby steps.Next I looked up groups with similar interests to me in the local paper and I am working on joining one. I am not forcing anyone to be to befriend me out of sympathy but dealing with the feeling of being depressed and slowly but surely building my confidence back up.I began to eat better and getting more exercise. I have a dog who has been my saviour. Even a ten minute walk makes you feel better. This even helps your sleep. I have found that having a pet that depends on you, gives meaning to your life. A dog will shower you with love and adoration in return for attention and nourishment from you, it's primarily caregiver. On the days that I am off work, I only allow myself an extra hour of sleep and get up. It's important to find a routine when you are feeling depressed as this gives structure to our lives and we need it.For the things that I no control over like my daughter moving interstate then I write down what I feel, cry and go through the healing process of acceptance. It's what she has to do and I have to accept that.I hope this helps you in some way.
