Can A Teacher/princable Take Away My Candy

Is it okay for a teacher to take away your food?

Okay, I'm a teacher, so I'll take a crack at this. There are a few possibilities for her reasoning, and quite possibly none are right since I can't claim to be inside her head. I'll do her side of the problem first.
Food in the classroom can be a distraction:
1. You're eating and not listening (or could have intended to not just have looked in the bag - she didn't know, and it possibly would have been more of a disruption to ask.)
2. Other students in the class may be honestly hungry. Not just, "I only had one pop tart for breakfast" hungry, but below the poverty line and "I haven't eaten for 2 days" hungry. The simple insinuation of food being around is a HUGE distraction to them - whether you eat it or not.
3. Food spills and crumbs are an annoyance too.
4. If you can appear to have food in class, others will assume they can, and her whole disiplinary system could be at risk.

This particular instance was rather innocent, you weren't even eating:
1. The teacher definitely should have given it back at lunch time if she didn't. Teachers are not legally allowed (at least in the state of PA) to deprive minors of food or drink. They MAY hold it until such a time as is an appropriate meal time, however, if they deem it is the best interest of the student and her other charges.
2. Some students have medical needs that require them to eat and drink at regular intervals - sometimes falling within class time. I, for instance, have hypoglycemia and need to eat something little at least once every two hours or my blood sugar crashes.

So she may have had her reasons for taking it from you temporarily, but I really hope she did give it back - even if she said she wasn't - because there's no reason to keep it forever.

Please help! Does my teacher like me?

Hey - It seems as though he has a crush on you and the hanging out with him outside school is wrong. The only way you can tell if he wants to start a relationship with you is if he makes a move on you. If he does, know in advance if you want the same. For him it's illegal and he would go to prison, you would also get into trouble. He won't blackmail you and if he does go to a teacher or police. If you tell your family or other teachers about all you have said in this message, he won't have a job. Teachers do not buy good students drinks and candy, you get praised in class and that's all. This is quite creepy and if it goes on then tell someone - an adult- about it. You may not fell uncomfortable, but who feels uncomfortable when people really like you and think you are perfect? This is quite creepy from an outsiders point of view.

Any other questions just mail me - hope this helps.

Is it illegal for a school teacher to give candy to students?

no but look out for lawsuits by wanna-get-rich-quick parents b/c you're trying to make their children fat or rot their teeth or they're atheists so they don't believe in candy.

I want to quit teaching.?

This is my first year teaching but I'm miserable. I realize that your first year is difficult and so the first couple of weeks I just ignored my feelings. It's now the end of October and things are getting worse. I lay in bed every night and cry because I don't want to go to school. I'm constantly anxious and stressed about my work. The students are horrible and I spend so much time planning lessons that no one even listens to. I don't know what to do. This job is not for me.

If I quit now, what are the consequences? I don't think I can handle another day, week, or month. I don't know how to go about doing this. What do I tell my principal? What will they do to me? I feel like physically, mentally, and emotionally I cannot do this job. Can they force me to stay since I signed a one year contract?

I need advice! Help!

Is it illegal for teachers to bribe students?

That's not a bribe. It's a reward. Look them up in the dictionary. The usual reward in school is grades, but there are plenty of others. Some teachers have a "treasure chest" with prizes for kids who behave well all week. Others have pizza parties for kids who have read the most books.

A bribe would be if the teacher did something wrong and offered a prize or money to get you not to tell. For example, suppose the teacher changed your test answers so that the teacher's scores would look better. And the teacher told you that if you didn't tell, she would give you an A for the class. That's bribing you to do something you shouldn't do. That's different from rewarding you for doing something you SHOULD do.
