Can A Time Machine Be Real

What will you do if you get a time machine for real?

Hey,I have been asked this question earlier and that time I answered like an idiot by just expressing my desire to get back to a certain time of my puny life. But the thing I must admit that someone in the group broke the flow of trite imaginations and fantasies . His idea literally engulfed me with amazement though I personally don’t believe him to come up with this paradox on his own .Paradox:Suppose you have a Time Machine using which you can either travel back to past or go future. But you opt to go back to the past in the time when your Grandfather lived his early 15s.Then you kill your grandfather there and then return here .So tell me if your grandfather would die at his 15s ,your father would never take birth which makes you a non existing creature. So if you would be non existing who would be the one to return back to past to kill your grandfather and if anyone would not kill your grandfather you would obviously be here who would eventually return back in time . So this is a loop. What can be the possible answer ?#I don’t know if this idea is copied or not.

If time travel were real? how much would a time travel machine cost in US Dollars?

I'm guessing all of the R&D plus parts, labor, etc. would put the price tag close to a trillion dollars. Anyone who wanted a "ride" would expect to pay $10 billion plus insurance in the beginning with no guarantees of landing at a precise time. After the technology improved the price may drop to $5 billion.

Meanwhile the government would secretly do their own "missions" allowing them to wipe our memory of time travel having existed and retain all of the technology discovered thanks to time traveling for themselves, having complete control of us and the world. The end.

Is time travel real? ?

Of coarse time travel is real, but as far as we know, only into the future. It has to be factored into the calculations for GPS to work properly. Its just that the amount that we can travel in time is measured in nanoseconds because we can't travel fast enough for the relativistic effects to be too significant. For someone in spacecraft travelling rapidly, time flows at a slower rate than here on Earth. Gravity also has an effect on how rapidly time flows. The greater the gravity the more slowly time flows. Einstein figured all this out, and we have to use his formulas in order to calibrate our GPS systems so they are able to give correct positions.

I am amazed that some top contributors did not know the correct answer to this question. Get some books out and do your homework! You have a responsibility to make others who use this site better informed, not less so.

Is time travel real?

I know you shouldn't trust people on the internet but a lot of people say they have time travelled on certain forums. Are they telling the truth or just lying? And is time travel real?

Can time travel be real?

According to general relativity, no.But only if you believe in travelling faster than light. (Faster you go, more mass you have) There are actually more ways to travel in time, however. For example, if you were to travel near a black hole, time would pass differently for you than someone on Earth. You would than travel in time relative to a human on Earth. This is known as bending space-time.If you want to travel back in time, though…not without negative energy you can't.

Is there anyone who invented time machine in real life?

Actually, Ronald Mallet, Phd Proffessor of physics, University of Connecticut has been working on it...Seriously!
(I doubt it will work though...)

How can time travel even be real?

That’s a quite haphazard assessment. For starters, there many things in nature that are negative. Electric charge is an obvious one as electrons have negative charge and so do muons, tau particles etc. There is also negative parity, negative chirality and list goes on. This is further exemplified with other positive qualities of the same kind being inverted when taking anti-matter into account and anti-matter is also unequivocally real. Anti-protons also have negative charge, for example.Negative temperature does actually exist, but it’s sort of a “trick” in thermodynamics, so negative temperature actually behaves like infinitely hot temperature: Negative temperatureThere are also quantities that can be interpreted as negative depending on your reference frame, mainly vector quantities like velocity. If you define your axes in a way that a movement is “backwards” in some direction, then velocity is negative.Perhaps most importantly though, I don’t see how your initial assumption even if correct would lead to the conclusion that time travel is impossible. Time travel doesn’t actually claim that you have negative time. It would (kind of) if you interpreted a backwards trip in time as a vector quantity, but it’s not.On the subject of time travel though, I’d reassure you that indeed, no one really knows if backwards time travel is possible. There are conjectures and hypotheses, but no explicit piece of evidence or backing. Forward time travel is not just possible, it’s the normal behaviour of time. Every single moment we all go forward in time. It doesn’t seem all that fancy, but it’s technically correct.
