Can A Urine Infection Go Unnoticed

Dental infection and psa count?

No, a dental infection would not cause your prostate to react in such a way to increase your PSA count.

Feline urinary tract infection won't go away!?

To answer some questions below:

The vet first gave her Biomox, and she healed after all was gone, but then had an immediate relapse. So we took her back and he gave her Clavomox (sp?) for another week. That had no effect, but rather seemed to make it worse. So finally he has given her two weeks worth of Orbax tabs, of which she has about 5 tablets left.

We have cut out dry food from the diet, tho the other cat we have is none too thrilled about that, but he's been perfectly fine. We've changed their litter frequently to keep the box as free from bacteria as possible. We've also bought a filtered cat water fountain so as to entice them to drink more water.

The wet food we've been using was recommended - it's the Friskies Special Diet which is specifically PH balanced for urinary tract health.

How long do untreated kidney infections go before killing you?

The cause of the infection needs to be found or treatment will be useless. I had a kidney infection that would not go away and finally a Doctor for disease control told the urologist to remove a kidney stone that had become infected. Once they did I was well and the infection that I had for 9 months finally was cured. But kidney infections can become permanent. There is even an air borne kidney infection my mother had. It is not the kidney infection itself, but bacteria that cause the infection. You need to get any infection treated as soon as you can. You can get kidney failure, and die. It can also infect your blood which will be sepsis. which can be fatal.

Can a kidney infection go undetected for a couple of years?

I don't see a "reply" function so I will just add my comments to "add detail" Jared thank you so much for your answer. No I am not on long term prednisone. And your reasons given for the dr missing the diagnosis makes sense. In fact that is exactly what happened. I really appreciate your help. Also, I don't know how to do "best answer" or I would have given you one.

Can a Urinary Tract Infection be a cause for premature ejaculation?

No, a UTI should not cause premature ejaculation. I had a UTI and it was painful to ejaculate and it seemed slower. However there are ways to treat premature ejaculation, in the sources I have included a link to a page that helped me a lot regarding premature ejaculation. I hope it helps you like it has me.

How long can a person live with sepsis without antibiotics?

I work with skilled rehab patients and LTC, mostly elderly. In my experience, with this population, sepsis can come on like a lightening bolt. Depending on the patient, and other illnesses/risk factors, sepsis and death can take a few days or a few hours. I cared for a lady who had spinal surgery. Other than insulin-dependent diabetes and high cholesterol, both well-controlled, she was pretty healthy. Two days after arriving at our facility—working with PT, eating, drinking, walking, talking—she suddenly tanks. Her temp was 104.1, pulse 132, BP 64/42, respirations 34. From out of left field this woman just failed.Other patients at my facility have come in to recuperate after being hospitalized for sepsis. Some people gradually become sicker before seeking treatment, while others have a sudden onset. Sometimes there is no clear correlation between sepsis and comorbidities. Every body is different and every immune system is unique. Some patients have mild or vague symptoms but blood work shows that the immune system is going bonkers. Without antibiotics and fluids, the person will eventually have multiple organ/systems failure and die.{The discussion about multiple-drug resistant organisms and the outlandish way that antibiotics have been historically used is for another time}Symptoms of sepsis include rapid pulse and breathing, low blood pressure, and fevers greater than 101.4. Usually the fevers go higher than 102. Some people have nausea/vomiting/diarrhea. Some have bloody urine, or none at all. Abdominal pain can occur, as well as headaches. A change in mental status is common in old folks: increased confusion; seeing, hearing, or believing things that are not real (if that is not typical); also lethargy, poor food/fluid intake, falling down, loss of consciousness, seizures….Sepsis is a true medical emergency.
