Can An Impacted Wisdom Tooth Cause Pain In The Neck It

Can an impacted wisdom tooth cause chest pains?

My bottom left wisdom tooth has partially come in and my gum is split over top of it. I can put my tongue in between my gum. My jaw bones feel disoriented and I sometimes I feel funny from my neck to my jawbone to my ear to my back to my chest. I don't necessarily feel pain on my tooth sometimes. I just want to know if my wisdom tooth could be making me feel this way?

Is the possible for a impacted wisdom tooth to cause pain at the back of head when yawning?

While anything is possible, it is more likely that the check rein ligament is the likely trigger for the pain. This ligament can be overused in some people from gun chewing or habitual clenching and when yawning occurs the ligament is in its most stretched position. Here's a bit on the relationships of the various jaw structures including the check-rein ligament.  Although it deals with acute trauma, that ligament helps keep the jaw in check: Craniomandibular/temporomandibular/cervical implications of a forced hyper-extension/hyper-flexion episode (i.e., whiplash).

Can an impacted wisdom tooth cause a recurring stiff neck?

It’s not very common, but there is the possibility of wisdom teeth to cause neck pain and neck stiffness. With decreased room to grow, wisdom teeth create natural tension. This slowly building tension can spread from your gums, into your jaw, and across other areas of your body. However, a more common cause for neck stiffness is mouth grinding (bruxism). Many people grind their mouth during sleep without noticing it, which puts additional stress on the jaw and neck muscles.

Can wisdom teeth cause neck pain?

I'm 19 years old and all four of my wisdom teeth are impacted and the bottom left one hurts the most at Times, I have had neck pain the last couple days right below the jaw kind of where the tooth is can it be because I havnt gotten them removed yet? Or something else. It also hurts to swallow when I am looking all the way to the right

Why did removing my wisdom teeth cause neck pain?

It could be related to your mouth , the opening width , and , the length , or shortness of your neck .The location of the teeth , the force required to extract , them , any resistance , if you were awake during the work , or if you were unconscious , the positions your dentist had to put your head in to complete his work. You may have developed a misalignment , while asleep , a lot of people complain of waking up with a “ Crick in the Neck “ after sleeping in their own bed , nothing different in habits , just woke up that way.

Impacted wisdom teeth pain and symptoms?

Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling so worried. I was in a similar situation. Every so often I would get pains associated with my wisdom teeth. I followed the dentist's recommendation to let them be, and thus far they have been fine. I would wait for a while and see if the pains go away.

On a different note, the following steps will eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) your panic attacks:

1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks, OCD and anxiety etc. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: www.livinglifetothefull.com

3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. You can get free downloads online, e.g. http://www.studentservices.utas.edu.au/c...

With each step practise makes perfect. (i.e. practise the steps every day, not just when you are feeling bad). I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!

Is it possible for wisdom teeth to cause neck pain?

It could be referred pain. When I had my wisdom teeth out, it was because they were growing parallel to the jawbone & partially impacted, & when they removed them, everything hurt so much for a few days that I couldn't say for sure if my neck hurt along with my jaw or not! Also, you might ask, if you were anesthetized, if the oral surgeon/dentist had to put your neck in any odd positions to get your teeth put…I know they had to with me because my mouth is small (for someone with such an alleged big mouth & who always seems to have her foot firmly planted there! :D) But they told me when I was awake so I'd know. Our son had his out under what is called “conscious sedation,” a mild tranquilizer plus novocaine (or whatever they use instead in many dentists’ offices)…he could easily be wakened & knew if he'd had his neck in a weird position. Thankfully, he didn't inherit the small mouth or the tendency to plant his foot within, so he was OK :)Heat should help, though for some, ice works better. Try VERY GENTLE stretches of your neck, up & down as well as side to side…stop if the pain is really bad.If you have recently been doing any thing that hurt your ahoulder, it could be that which is causing the pain. I took martial arts of different styles (my husband was career militry so I had to take the style available wherever we were). I am pretry sure the bridging I did in Judo to strengthen my neck is why today, all these years later, I have pinched nerves in the neck…& never knew the pain in my once-fractured wrist was not as much arthritis as referred pain from the neck! So you see that pain can be referred from anywhere… back pain, for example, can start out as foot pain.If by now you haven't had a complete resolution, you may want to have a doctor check you out. Otherwise, if it's gone, just be careful & stretch your neck gently once in a while during the day to keep it limber. If it comes back, see a doctor.

Can an infected tooth cause pain in other places then your mouth?

These are very classic symptoms of an infected tooth, which usually ends up in a root canal. There is something called pain referral that can send pain from one area to another that doesn't even have any problems. Most nerves around your mouth, ears, and neck are connected to each other. Please see a dentist as soon as possible and make sure he takes an x-ray. The longer you wait, the worse it will get.

Wisdom tooth infection cause eye pain and headache?

I had the same problem with an broken (then infected) tooth that caused constant eye, neck and shoulder pain and severe headaches like migraines. I had a MRI and even saw a doctor that suggested it was facial neuralgia. I was put on Vioxx and other painkillers that did not help. I suffered for about 6 months until I made the connection that it was my tooth and I saw a dentist. After the extraction, the pain was gone 100% and did not come back.

So, you're saying that 10 months later you think you still have an infection? Why haven't you been back to the doctor/dentist? Just go right away and they will prescribe the antibiotics or whatever you need. Hopefully it's just a simple infection and nothing more serious like nerve damage. Don't mess around with this.
