Which subjects are their in 11th science?

Thanks for A2A!You basically have to study 5 main subjects comprising of 4 compulsory subjects and 1 optional subject. Besides, CBSE offers two branches in science stream i.e.PCB = Physics+ Chemistry+ Biology+ English (Medical stream).PCM= Physics+Chemistry+ Mathematics + English (Non- Medical stream).Optional Subjects with PCB (Medical stream) :Physical Education.Psychology.Home Science.Mathematics.Economics.Biotechnology.Fine Arts.Optional Subjects with PCM (Non- Medical stream) :Biotechnology.Eonomics.Computer Science.Home Science.Fine Arts.Physical Education. Please select the optional subject based on your calibre and interest.Besides, I have listed common optional subjects. However, the optional subjects may vary. So, kindly check beforehand as to which subjects are available in a particular school/college.I hope this helps. All the best! Thanks for reading!

What is the strangest IIT JEE story?

Not IIT but MAINS.This is my story of JEE MAINS 201515 Minutes before exam paper was distributedI  was sitting on my seat and was meditating and concentrating on my exam.  Suddenly a guy 6 Feet tall (say Mr. X) came towards me and asked:X- Aur bhai kaisa h? (How are you Brother?)Me- Mein theek hu! (I am fine!) but in my mind I was like Kaun h bhai tu Mein nhi Janta tujhe.(Who are you bro, I don't know you.)X- tayari hogyi? (are you prepared?)I thought if I said yes, then he would disturb me for the whole exam. So to avoid him I tried to speak in Haryanvi language, so that he would think that I am not a studious fellow.Me-  Dekh bhai tayari ka ke h? Maine to form bhi na bhara tha berani kab  mere baap ne bhar diya aur subah bolya ki aaj paper deke aaiye! (What is  preperation man? I didn't even fill the form, my father filled it up  and today morning told me to go and give the exam.He got reluctant as I was quite successful in making him feel that I am a dumb fellow!X- Bhai ye side wala hoshiyar lag raha h iska dekh lenge! (The boy next to you looks intelligent we should cheat from him.)Me- Haan bhai sab taap denge! (Yes brother we will copy everything from him!)Bell Rings Suddenly. I was like let me concentrate!<>I  solved my exam completely myself (got stuck in probability question due  to which I was unable to see 11 questions of Physics section.) And Mr. X  copied everything from the studious looking kid. When  the studious kid solved  a question Mr. X looked at the answer and then  searched for that question in his paper and marked the same answers.  This continued for the whole three hours.<>X- bhai tune cheating nhi ki? Meine saara dekh liya uska and meine 81   questions kiye h. (Bro you didn;t cheat? I copied everything and attempted 81 questions,)Me- bhai aaj aatma jag gyi thi to meine cheating nhi ki! (bro my conscience did not allow me to cheat today.) <>We had become Facebook friends on the exam day.I checked my result, I had scored 210 Marks and then I saw Mr. X's status: "Packing bags for NIT KURUKSHETRA got 249 Marks"I was shocked and went into depression!

How does the ICSE calculate your percentage if there are six subjects?

Hi there,ICSE calculates marks of best 5 subjects out of 6 (or 7 in some cases). Among these subjects English(Language+Literature) is a compulsory subject. The lowest marks in one subject is neglected and the rest marks(of five subjects ) are taken and that defines your percentage of ICSE. Now, there are some individual subjects and some grouped subjects. In my case, the individual subjects were :-MATHEMATICSHINDI(2nd LANGUAGE)COMPUTER APPLICATIONSAnd the grouped subjects are :-ENGLISH - ENGLISH LANGUAGE + ENGLISH LITERATURESOCIAL STUDIES(HCG) - HISTORY + CIVICS + GEOGRAPHYSCIENCE - PHYSICS + CHEMISTRY + BIOLOGYThe marks of individual subjects are taken individually while those of grouped subjects were added and the sum is divided by the number of subjects in that particular group. (MIND - ICSE CONSIDERS SCIENCE GROUP (PCB) AS ONE SINGLE SUBJECT, ENGLISH AS ONE AND HCG AS ONE SUBJECT AND NOT ONE GROUP)The following stats will make you understand nicely:-This is one of my friend’s marks and percentage:-ENGLISH (LANGUAGE + LITERATURE) - 86MATHEMATICS - 88HCG - 78HINDI - 88SCIENCE- 84COMPUTER APPLICATIONS - 93Full Marks = 600Total Marks Obtained = 517Total Percentage = (517/600)*100 = 86.16%Aggregate Full Marks = 500 (for 5 subjects)Now, the student has got least marks in HCG (History + Civics + Geography) = 78Therefore, marks of HCG will not be considered. So, the aggregate marks obtained(out of 500) = (517–78) = 439Aggregate (ACTUAL) Percentage = (439/500)*100 = 87.8%So the actual percentage is 87.8% and not 86.16.Hope you understood.peace…

What are subject choices in ISC?

There is 1 compulsory subject i.e. English, and 29 elective subjects out of which you are supposed to opt for 3, 4 or 5 of them (depending on the choices given to you by your college). An Indian LanguageA Modern Foreign LanguageA Classical LanguageElective EnglishHistoryPolitical ScienceGeographySociologyPsychologyEconomicsCommerceAccountsBusiness StudiesMathematicsPhysicsChemistryBiologyHome ScienceFashion DesigningElectricity & ElectronicsEngineering ScienceComputer ScienceGeometrical & Mechanical DrawingGeometrical & Building DrawingArtMusic (Indian or Western)Physical EducationEnvironmental ScienceBiotechnologyThis again depends on the college. The college you select ultimately offers you specific grouped choices depending on your stream, and you are free to select and enquire the rest from the authority.

Are the ICSE boards really tougher than CBSE?

From my experience, YES!!!!I wrote my ICSE 10th exam this year (2016–17 batch)Here are the differences b|w the two boards:Subject wise: English- ICSE has a high standard of english. I’m not implying that CBSE doesn’t but trust me Icse english is hard. You have to be really really goog to get above 90. Math- Levels are pretty much the same across both boards but ICSE is a bit more advanced. Science is application based in ICSE and requires exact proper answers while CBSE is theory based.ICSE might seem hard if shift abruptly from CBSE to ICSE. I studied ICSE from 2nd grade to 10th grade so I was okay with the flow of it. ICSE might be hard but it really helps you in 11th and 12th. Here’s a true fact: many of my seniors and older kids I know who studied in CBSE in 10th say that they find math and science a little hard in 11th grade. They sort of struggle but ICSE kids easily solve the maths problems. So you see it really helps. In ICSE, there are three papers for science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology)(80 marks written +20 marks internals FOR EACH) but in CBSE 10th, its only one single paper for science. This is easy going for CBSE 10th but the real impact comes in 11th where there are separate papers. If you studied ICSE, you’re used to it from 8th grade itself. So the transition is smooth.ICSE is not recognized by Indian Govt. CBSE is but both certificates are equally valid. ICSE though, is recognized by foreign education systems.Scoring and grading is also different. In ICSE, we get actual percentage and not grades. In CBSE, there is something known as CGPA. If you get more than 90 in atleast 4 out of 6 subjects, your cgpa is 10. It does’nt display your true score. In ICSE your score is more transparent.Getting 90+ in ICSE is a feat. Getting 90+ in CBSE is pretty easy, if you ask me. But the effort you put in ICSE proves fruitful later in 11th and 12th.Everyone knows ICSE is hard. If you get 90+in ICSE and others get 95+ in CBSE, you’re still considered as a good player in the game.So…. concluding I think ICSE is harder than CBSE. But others may state to the contrary.Edits: In 6. I wrote ICSE is “futile”, its meant to be “fruitful”. Sorry about that!!

Which do you believe is a better board CBSE, ICSE or IB or any of those state boards ?

Okay, I have been in both IB and CBSE so I can provide information about both. First of all, there is no "better board". There are merits and demerits in all the boards. I'll talk about IB first. IB is an international board. I think all IB schools must be good but it really depends on the teachers. You can have a mediocre school with fantastic teachers and a fantasic school with mediocre teachers. IB makes you all-rounded and learn time management. In IB, you learn how to be open minded, you do a lot of hands-on projects, you learn how to be an international citizen, you talk a lot about world issues. Actually the IB program was made just to do that, to make global citizens. You're asked to do 15o hours of volunteer service so you learn to help the community. You are asked to take a philosophy type course called the theory of knowledge, which basically teaches us the techniques of learning and gaining knowledge. You learn really good english because you learn to write essays, analyze novels written by national and international authors and compose poems. For studies, you learn the basic subjects, the sciences, maths, english, an arts subject, history etc. For CBSE, everything is text book based. From what I experienced, its a lot of memorization (especially chemistry) but CBSE also helps in the long run. It helps solve basic concepts and CBSE maths is a bit difficult at the 11th 12th level, but it makes things a lot easier in college where you already know the basic concepts. Again, for CBSE it depends on the teachers. CBSE is also good for clearing entrance examinations in India. CBSE is theory based while IB is application based. CBSE asks you to memorize the concepts. IB asks you to memorize the concepts and then apply them to a real life problem. Both has its merits and demerits. If I was asked to choose one stream as opposed to another, in India I would go for CBSE. Just because it helps in entrance exams and gaining admission to a college. And what you learn in CBSE carries on in college. But if I wanted to go abroad, then definitely I would choose IB. Because IB is not just about studies, studies, studies, its about studying but also being a good human being. I speak from experience :)
