I find snafu is a great place to start a manga since bleedman is there. So while limited people tend to check out how good the news ones are. Unforutately for me I have absolutely no photoshop skill and I don't know how to draw a story. I am a fine artist but story drawing is a different dimension Still if you want to give me a sample (small one) of a some random story I'll give you a sample drawing.

Would anyone like to be my manga partner?

Creating manga had always been on my mind since quite a few years now. I started a comic book a couple years back but it's art is more like western comic book than manga. I'm always collecting random ideas for plots that I might use for a manga but haven't really invested into anything. But yes, I'm interested in collaborating with people on a comic book or a manga, particularly in exploring traditional manga techniques and their style. You can check out my comic here.

If I want Marvel to do a comic over an idea I have for their characters (something simple, along the lines of merely a broad brush of plot points), what do I have to do for them to give it some consideration?

1. I don't know.2. Have other published work and loads of samples of relevant content in the style they use.3.Practice writing for a good 10,000 hours, to start with.3.Expect to spend 5-10 years marketing yourself to the company, and note that a lot of people do it in different ways, but no way really beats having (a)AMAZING work and (b) developing ongoing relationships with existing comic professionals who help you get work published.4.You should be publishing your own work in some venue and building an online portfolio of a high professional quality.5.Get a notebook, start listening to comic book related podcasts (the ones that interview professionals) and every time they mention how they got a start in a company, or suggest a way in for you, WRITE IT DOWN.Also, have a read of this, and keep in mind that a lot of people who become writers / artist at comic companies move in there sideways, and through methods other than saying.Think about if someone knocks on the front door of your hour and when you answer they say:"Hey, I am a random person you have never heard of, please give me some money".  In that context, can you see how most "submissions" are actually just time wasting annoyances?  Perhaps less than 10% of submissions made to comic book companies are actually anywhere near professional level (that is, not complete and utter garbage).Personally I would never even attempt to write for a comic company as in my opinion it is like climbing Mt. Everest.  Very very difficult, but possible with the right kind of training and practice, but even in the best conditions, there is a pretty high chance you will fail or have to turn back.Submission requests

Why do people like comic books?

Reading comic books has nothing to do with "pretending to be cool"--it's all to do with a personal attraction towards the media itself. Comic books present a story in the art style of its artist and are a direct collaboration between art and literature. This graphic style of storytelling appeals to many people, not just kids or older adults "trying to be kids". It has nothing to do with intelligence or "coolness" and all to do with the unique experience of visually experiencing a story on paper.

Your statement is ignorant and equivalent to the declaration that people who like movies are "pretending to be cool kids".

I want to write a free comic novel on the 4th dimension. Would someone help me?

That would depend on what sort of help you're looking for. If you need someone to help you with the science side of it, it probably isn't a good idea to begin this project in the first place. It isn't advisable to write on a subject you don't know much about. If you need direction on where to begin or suggestions for your plot, again, probably not the best idea to start this. You need a basic idea of what you're trying to do. But if you ever get something written, if you need somebody to proofread for you or just say "does this plot sound interesting" I'm totally able to do that. I can even go over a passage and point out every single little mistake or possible mistake for you, if you're open to that, although I can't make a long-term commitment to it. I'm equally capable of nitpicking the artwork if need be, since I do draw. ( But I don't have experience with comics or graphic novels in particular.) You can likely find plenty of other people willing to help online on other sites as well. Especially if you ask for help with one part at a time instead of the whole thing all at once.Good luck and let me know if I can do anything for you.

How do you compare novel, comic book/ manga, and movie as media for storytelling? Which one is giving you the most satisfaction to enjoy stories?

Can I translate “satisfaction” into “fun”?If so, I’ll go with movie. It tells the story in the complete package: words (in the form of dialogue), picture, auditory supports, and even movement to give clarity to the story. i will turn to movie when I’m in “lazy” mode, that is, when I don’t want to use my brain too much. Even for movies that contain heavy theme and difficult interpretation. If I compare it to comics, movies give off atmosphere of the environment or movement of expression directly without having to interpret them ourselves. Unconsciously, we draw conclusion of changes and nuance by interpreting the lines in the comic, from one panel to another. Novel is even harder because all you have are words, and you will have to change them all essentially into movie in our head. I’m not saying movies are just for people without brain. No. I mean, I enjoy it as much as I enjoy books. In fact, movie can deliver something that other media can’t: art of cinematography. It’s a feast for your eyes, and it can be more fascinating than our brain’s result of interpreting words or combination of lines. If I translate “satisfaction” into “brain-gasm”, it’s different.Based on my opinion above, it means novels give me more satisfaction. It plays with my imagination. I can create my own world from there. Suffice to say, movies and comics directly provide this imagination so there’s nothing more to imagine. I prefer novels when I want to enter my imaginary world, and live in virtually another life. It can be as someone else, in other world, during other timeline. However, “satisfaction” can translate into “smiling uncontrollably due to the fascination of the literature-artwork”.That’s how I feel when i read comic. It’s the lovechild of words and picture. A good comic can combine, and utilize, both of its parents effectively to tell story. The words are supported by pictures. The pictures stands straight thanks to the words. It’s the raw form of movie, but with another kind of magic that can leave sounds and movements unused, but present. We are tricked to think that these two elements exist, even though they don’t.

R&P: Do You Like Comic Books?

I was born in a weird age... first comic book I picked up was Spider-Man something, at the end of the Scarlet Spider saga when Ben Reilly finds out he's the clone and evaporates or something. Then the Ultimates happened, and other than Ultimate Fantastic Four leading into Marvel Zombies I never much cared for the Ultimate series... Fortunately there's been dozens of animated series and video game throwbacks to the original comics during the late 90s, so my Marvel knowledge is pretty decent... At least when it comes to the more mainstream storylines, cuz when you get into the drug-addicted sex-starved psychoses that Alan Moore and Frank Miller created for established superheroes in the 80s it gets kind of annoying

As for your video, Sunfire>Pyro... but then again, that's just my opinion... and what's up with that trippy picture of Magneto? I like it...

Favorite comic book characters: Psylocke *drools*, Luke Cage, Deadpool, Colossus, Witchblade, Killer Croc, Scarlet Witch, Harley Quinn, Venom, Multiple Man, Emperor Zod, and The Joker... I don't much care for Jack Nicholson or Heath Ledger as the Joker, as far as I'm concerned the best Joker in recorded media is Mark Hamill

Favorite Comics: I've been reading the DC Universe Crises and they're pretty intense... and stereotype metalhead response, but Marvel Zombies... although half of Zombies II and Zombies IV were kind of bleh.

Megadeth - The Punishment Due is about the Punisher... although Holy Wars is about the Ireland conflict, who knows what goes on inside of Dave's mind when he writes songs
