After appointment is obtained (this happens after fee payment), you need to print the submitted application, and appointment time and date confirmation. On the day of appointment, you reach the relevant passport office (where you have appointment), with the printed documents (and two photographs, just in case). It is better to reach about half an hour early for appointment, because once your appointment time is crossed, you may not be allowed in side.Once you are in, you will get a token, and then it will be a step by step process guides by passport office. For me, it took about half an hour from entry into passport office to issue of the certificate. So you can expect a similar time for yourself, give or take a few minutes depending on the crowd. You will be issued with the PCC on the day of appointment itself, if police verification was done at the time of issue of your passport. Otherwise you may have to get police verification done. Even then, police verification usually doesn’t take very long these days. And you can expect to receive the PCC within 7–10 days of your first visit to passport office.
