Why did Conor McGregor beat Jose Aldo so fast with only one punch at UFC 194?
Here's the short version: Aldo overcommitted on his combination and lead with his face. As anyone with a basic understanding of physics will tell you, getting hit by something you're moving towards hurts a lot more than getting hit while stationary. Thus, Aldo got caught coming in by McGregor's power hand (his left), and it was lights out.Here's the long version: For reference, here's a gif of the whole fight: 13 seconds, but there's actually a lot going on here. Well, not so much in the first 8 seconds, but whatever.In a southpaw/orthodox engagement, establishing what's called lead leg dominance is vital. The best place for either fighter to attack from is when his or her lead leg is on the outside of the opponent's lead leg. It makes it easier to retreat, and harder to counter. You can see McGregor do this when he throws his early straight left, but more importantly you can see Aldo do this when he goes to throw the fatal combination.Now for the combination itself. For whatever reason, Aldo throws a combination where he feints a right hand and throws a left hook. I won't pretend to be more knowledgeable about this kind of thing than his coaches are, but this doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Even if he isn't committing to a full punch, it still leaves his right side completely open to McGregor's left straight, which we've seen time and time again is his best weapon. Worse, as we talked about before, Aldo, who is usually very well disciplined, had his face very off center, moving towards McGregor, who timed his back stepping left hand extraordinarily well (to see another master of this counter striking, see any Anderson Silva fight (well, except for the Weidman fights)).It's possible that Aldo's plan was to use this combination to set up a leg kick, as having his right hand drop opens up his rear leg to hit McGregor's lead leg. He's thrown this kind of combination before: But even then you'll notice that he gets tagged by Hominick's left hand. It speaks to Conor's skills as a counterstriker that he was able to capitalize so effectively on Aldo's mistake so early in the fight.As an Aldo fan, it was a disappointing end to what I hoped would be a five round war, McGregor's brilliant counter striking was hugely impressive. I'm sure these two will fight again in the future, but in the meantime there are lots of fun fights we can look forward to (McGregor vs RDA, McGregor vs Edgar, Aldo vs Holloway, etc.).

They do.But people who have done illegal or immoral acts will often deny they did them and call the information “Fake News. ”Every journalist should be able to show how and why their stories are accurate, even if they protect the sources.Do reputable news companies make mistakes? Yes.Do reputable companies have hidden agendas? Sometimes, as everyone will have opinions. Proper journalists will report based on verifiable information. If they make a mistake, they publish the correction.Most people will not take the time to read or view reporting that conflicts with their current opinions.
