Can anybody write a book?
Yes, anyone can write a book. Particularly now because anyone can publish a book by just uploading it to Amazon’s Kindle platform or Smashwords.But just because everyone has the ability to write a book doesn’t mean everyone will write a book. Many people have the idea of, “I should write a book some day,” not realizing that it actually is a lot of work and a lot of dedication to sit down and bang out a story that’s enough to last the length of a complete novel.If you’re willing to put in the time and dedicate yourself to finishing the story, then you can write a book. If you aren’t, then you won’t get more than maybe fifty pages in.
Could a person write a book using only 3,000 words?
There are several ways to write a book with 3000 words. They depend on how you count the words in the book. For example, a proper novel written for adults in their native language is expected to be 40,000 words or longer. But, I have used the word ‘book’ 3 times now, ‘the’ 3 times, ‘words’ 4 times… If we only counted the number of different words, we would get a lower number.Books for less skilled readers, perhaps learning the language or just young, are often categorized by ‘headword count’. I think a ‘headword’ is the base and all its suffixes and prefixes. I am not sure if article -’a’, ‘the’ - are counted as headwords.So, for the base word, ‘fight’, we have ‘fighting’, ‘fought’, fights. Can anyone acquire the skills needed to write a book?
No special skills, or even any skill level to speak of, are needed to write and publish a book. There's plenty of evidence to support that statement. Anyone can write and publish a book. Some skill is required if the writer hopes to attract readers that will spread the word. The more skill the writer has, the better his/her chances of getting noticed. The ability to write is a gift. That gift can be honed and developed over time with thousands of hours of practice. Good writers can become better writers. Great writers are born. The same is likely true for storytelling. The other stuff, like creating a marketing platform, especially for nonfiction, is a skill that can be acquired. It is also a skill that can make of break the sales of a book, even one that is rubbish. The sad part of this is how many incredible writers create remarkable stories in breathtaking prose, and get little or no notice. At the same time, while those books languish, crap like Fifty Shades and the Twilight nomsense fly off the shelf. So while a great deal of skill, discipline and devotion to the craft is highly desirable, no particular skill, much less a special one, is "required."

Can anyone rewrite my poem correctly?
I Love To Live Today dear Lord, I'm 80, and there's much I haven't done, I hope dear Lord, You'll let me live until I'm 81. but then if I haven't finished all I want to do, Would you please let me stay awhile until I'm 82? So many places I want to go, So very much to see Do you think you could manage to make it 83? the world is changing very fast, there is so much in store. I'd like it very much to live until I'm 84 . and, if by then I'm still alive I'd like to stay till 85! More planes will be up in the air, so I'd really like to stay and see what happens to the world when I turn 86. I know dear Lord, its much to ask, (and it must be nice in heaven). But I'd really like to stay until I'm 87. I know by then I would be fast, and sometimes will be later. But it would be so pleasant to be around at 88. I will have seen so many things and had a wonderful time. So, I'm sure that I'll be willing to leave at the age of 89, maybe just one more thing I'd like to say dear Lord, I thank you kindly. Describe someone being stabbed in my book. *10 points!!!*?
Maybe you could ask this in some medical section :P Or interview someone who's been stabbed! From what I've read in fiction, it's been described a few ways - -a searing pain (in his side) -the pain is sometimes described as cold (and possibly hot at the same time, or gets hot later) -sometimes they hardly feel it - the pain feels faint and at first they can't really feel it and then all of a sudden it rushes them in a wave (usually the searing pain). I think it was supposed to be not feeling it all that much at first because your nerves were all on the surface, or didn't react fast enough or something... I have no clue, but I just remember something along those lines. :P Oh, and maybe include that he's shocked and doesn't believe what's happening at first. I mean, it's not every day you suddenly get stabbed, spew blood from a wound, and have a gaping hole in your side. He might instinctively put his hand to the wound, then look at his hand and see it's covered in blood - maybe look up at the attacker and realize his knife is coated in something red and shiny. :P As for sound, I don't think you'd notice or pay attention to sound while you're being speared through. Maybe a little shlucking sound when the guy pulls the knife out of his side? Or maybe all is silent when the attacker steps back with a little click of the heel. Good luck on your story :D -PS, I don't think you could fight someone with a deep knife wound in your side :O I mean, dying heroes (or terribly wounded heroes) are heroic, but still... if the knife wound is kind of glancing and not very deep, maybe he grabs some weapon - maybe the knife out of the attacker's hand, and lunges blindly and gets him by luck. Otherwise, he wouldn't be too coordinated. :)

I just heard about the author Bernard Cornwell and I would like to read some of his books. He has been writing since '81 so I dont know if I should start with his first book or what. Do all his book follow a certain set a characters or are they all individual stories?
