Can Being Exposed To Turrets Make My Own Worse

Can suppressing tics help children to outgrow Tourette's Syndrome? ?

No. Tourettes is lifelong and there is not a cure. Some medicines will help to lessen the severity of the tics and vocal tremors, but nothing can take them away.

Take your child to a Pediatric Neurologist for more help and answers.

Why do my jerks/twitches get worse around people with Tourette's?

I had a friend when I was growing up that had a facial tic. He would blink or rapidly squint his eyes three times. Sometimes he would do it three times, then open his eyes wide, and roll them. It would happen more frequently when he was nervous or stressed. It used to bother me when he did that. It gave me this feeling similar to what some people get from nails on a chalk- board. It just bothered me and made me self conscious about my own eyes. I’d start blinking more and sometimes my eyes would water. It seemed like the harder I tried to stop or tried not to think about it, it would make it worse. It became a compulsion for me whenever I was around him.I’m not sure why this happens. I think in my case, it was that I was obsessively thinking about something that bothered me. Do the tourette’s tics bother you?I’ve read about mirroring. This is a human habit of adopting someone else’s body language and postures during social interactions. I don’t know if it could apply to tics and jerks. It’s another possibility.

What is the worst designed Warhammer 40000 vehicle?

“Say, isn’t that what’s his name Bob was talking about at last week’s Heretics meeting? Inquisitor Kara- something?”“Karamazov, yeah, it is.”“He’s quite exposed up there, isn’t he? Reckon your rifle can pop him?”“Can give it a shot, he’s busy preaching whilst melting that Demon there.”*Raises rifle, fires a shot*“Hey, look at that, you just killed a High Inquisitor.”“So I did, he was pretty stupid to go walking around a city in that thing, huh?”In fairness, I’ve only run into him twice in games I’ve ever played, he’s not very popular as he’s got very mediocre rules and his Throne of Judgement is pretty weak.It certainly runs as a contender for one of the worst designed vehicles, its a throne/cathedral on a pair of Dreadnought legs. The Inquisitor has a deeply ingrained need to make vehicles that leave the user hopelessly exposed to small arms fire, though.Behold the alarming spectacles that are the Nemesis Dreadknight and the Penitent Engine. Genuinely two of the most worrying units to square off against, they are deadly. The Nemesis gets everywhere with people who have Grey Knight armies, but the Penitent Engine is pretty rare on account of the Sisters of Battle being rare themselves, it costing a kidney and because it is, without question, the SINGLE MOST GODDAMN ANNOYING model to build. I’ve built two a friend bought and I’ve never been more frustrated putting something together.Memories dipped in fury aside, they are poorly designed from a logical point of view. They aren’t represented this way on the tabletop, necessarily, especially in 8th Edition but they aren’t overwhelmingly tough. In fairness to the fluff, however, the Penitent Engine at least has the excuse of falling back on the operators being guilt-ridden with crimes they’ve commited and, in an effort to atone for them, are attached to the Engine and then go headlong into the enemy as they believe only death can bring them forgiveness. They are somewhat unhinged individuals. Quite terrifying to face on the tabletop, though. Strength 10 melee with a -3 rend and 3 damage for every unsaved wound… They are somewhat squishy at 7 wounds but they get a second round of attacks on a 4+ which gives them a solid opportunity for 8 attacks and at weapon skill 3+, they’re going to make most of those and then go about buzz-sawing your units to pieces and flaming the rest.

Why doesn't the U.S. military use sentry guns?

This is a touchy subject at the DOD.  Remote weapon systems is something that is not embraced by everyone.  I spoke to someone that built a remote weapon system mounted with .50 cal machine gun for the military. And he was using fiber optic cable to connect and give commands to the weapon system.  Someone commented, "Why don't you use WiFi"?  He then proceeded to tell a short story of why the DOD won't touch a wireless weapon system using a machine gun.Years ago someone made a early concept of a wireless remote weapons platform.  The platform was demonstrated at a firing range where a group of high profile audience members from DOD were watching other live fire demonstrations.  The company who built the system began the live fire demonstration and at first things seem to work well.  But then the system lost contact with the controller.  So like any computer, at the time, the remote weapon system continued with the last command sent from the controller.  Which was "Fire and traverse left".  So, never given the command to stop, by the controller,  the weapon system continued to fire and rotate left.  It rotated and fired past the targets into the firing range and finally at the stands with all the spectators.  It continued to rotate and fire until it ran out of ammo, actually in never stopped rotating.  Since then DOD has been very apprehensive of trusting remote weapon systems.  What I was told, the next time a similar weapon system was demonstrated, the barrel was chained in both directions and metal post were placed on either side to physically prevent the gun from firing to far left or right.

I have that disease where you uncontrollably pluck the hairs off your head? :/ help me?

13 year old female and i wanna know more about it. what is it called? or is it Tourettes and thats my 'tic'? ive had this for years my family thought i got over it but i didnt it comes and goes every few days or weeks but ever since the last time it came back its been way worse than usual. ALOT of hair off my head. so um, what can i do that doesnt envolve a doctor or other peoples help? also part of it is like i have a little dandruff and certain hairs or aka some strands on certain areas on my head (i think coz of sun exposure) have like a "layer of dandruff" on it if you pluck it. its like on your root, but its not the root. so yeah i have the urge to pluck it off the hair strand. its like maybe 1/6 of a centimeter long and its on like 3/5 of my hair. maybe thats my tic? idk if i have or had tourettes (in fact i barely know anything about this stuff) but before it used to be blinking hard, scrunching my nose and squinting my eyes. help please with info on this. would prefer not to have bald spots thanks.

ps yeah thats how bad it was when i first had this i had this giant bald spot 3 or so years ago. located on back left "corner" of my head (if heads were cubes just think of that). and it still hasnt grown back completely becoz i still have the disease and thats the part of my head with the dandruff layer on the root tip so i *have to* pluck it then yank off the layer. i hope someone out there who knows about this or can find info on this can help me. so yeah its like that "corner"'s hair is half the length of the rest of my hair and it always sticks out so i have to put water or gel on it to keep it there. i dont pluck in public i do it when no one can see me in the room at home....

Medical marijuana for scoliosis?

I was diagnosed with scoliosis about four years ago.im 16 now and lately I've been researching about medical marijuana. I live in Canada and it is legal to get a marijuana cars where I live. I don't have to get x rays anymore because they said I'm pretty much done growing. I see a chiropractor quite often. I was wondering if I go to my doctor and ask for medical marijuana will she just prescribe me something like Tylenol 3? or will she consider it.? I have smoked before and i have noticed pain is not noticeable in my back, even when I'm in the worst possible position. I swear I'm not some pot head teen trying for a free ride! I honestly thing this would help me because I wake up at night and toss and turn but my back still hurts and I know most of you(especially males) wont understand but I have a lot of emotional stress because of this.. i am VERY uncomfortable in my body because one hip is bigger than the other.. all I want to know is if anyone thinks marijuana would be good and if adults would be on board with me despite my age. thank you.

Why does M1 Abrams have such bad rear armor? Why have designers of this tank done this?

Calculated risk.As others have pointed out, there’s just no feasible way for any armored vehicle to be perfectly armored against all threats from all directions. So, the designers of most tanks figured that the best armor should be in the front, where the tank should (in theory) be driving (especially on the offense) and in the direction it should (in theory) be firing (regardless of tactical situation).Tank crews are trained, in general, put the frontal 120° arc (roughly) to face their enemy—hull and turret, together or separately—and do whatever they can to prevent their enemy from getting to the flank or rear of the tank. This is true in most tanks, not just the M1.Also, the armor is not “bad” by any stretch, but it does depend on what kind of weapon you bring to bear. If you throw a rock at it, you won’t penetrate the rear armor. You also won’t get very far when the tank crew figures out where the rocks are being thrown from. In addition, you won’t be able to penetrate the rear armor with a machine gun. So just being behind an M1 doesn’t magically make it vulnerable to a d00d with an automatic rifle, you will still need heavier weapons than just your basic infantry load, and having 1) well-trained crews and 2) infantry support mitigate the risk that was already calculated into the design. No usable tank is invulnerable, they all have weaknesses somewhere.
