Cure for Cerebral palsy?

Is there any such cure for Cerebral Palsy? Any at all? I desperately need to know, I really want to find a way to help my brother because he's starting to not be able to walk anymore. He tries to put on a happy face in front of me but i saw him breaking down today, i really want to help him but i dont know how. He refuses to have another operation because he'll have to stay in bed for 4-5 month and he say's it only makes him worse. All help very much appreciated, thank you.

Can Cerebral Palsy be cured?

Yesterday i saw an old friend in the store i used to be friends with him in elementary school and he had cerebral palsy. it gave him like a stutter and he walked kinda funny and held one of his arms like up on his stomach and never really made eye contact. well its been about 8 years since ive seen him and when i saw him yesterday we talked and he was completely normal. he didnt have a stutter and didnt hold his arm up it was like nothing was ever wrong with him. he still didnt make eye contact but i was shocked that he was so different. so is there some chance that he could have been cured or could be taking some kind of medication that makes him normal? i didnt want to ask and be rude. but it was just strange to me. hopefully someone can answer this...

Can cerebral Palsy be cured or totally removed? If so how long minimum can it take?

I think that your four answers from folks make it pretty clear: there is NO CURE for cerebral palsy, and because there is no cure, there is no way for the condition to be ‘removed’, “fixed” or otherwise. It is a complicated condition that effects the brain and brain development in the cerebral cortex. More than one area can be effected in the brain due to birth or early childhood injury (lack of oxygen etc) so there is no way to Fix this. the area in the brain has been permanently damaged or killed. Cutting into the brain in an attempt to “fix” this problem would only cause further disability and damage. The brain is elastic, but the trauma due to atrophy can’t be reversed. Training to work ‘around’ the disability is still pretty sketchy. Some people find botox injections help for muscle gait spasticity, other’s still get tendon surgery and have their hips broken to swing ‘scissor gait’ issues, (not recommended, believe me. My husband who had the tendon job done, and has advanced leg/hip issues due to the surgery). Some have Baclofen pumps inserted into their backs to help with spasticity and pain, but these pumps have history of ‘dumping’, rejection problems, etc. We have opted for Cannabis instead; at least it won’t kill either of us.

Where can I get the best treatment for cerebral palsy in the world?

Treatment for what aspect of it?Cerebral palsy is a static encephalopathy. This means it does not get better but it also doesn’t progress. There really isn’t treatment for it in the sense that nothing will change the disability and it cannot be cured. You can talk to your doctor about managing specific symptoms, such as spasticity, feeding difficulties, etc.

What do you think will be the best way to treat cerebal palsy?

I have cerebal palsy Im hemipaligic on my left side. and everyday I wonder what will treat CP until it cant affect the person that has it? I have come down to 2 possibilities in my opinion, either bionics were do it where they will create a system that can deliver signals to the limbs and appendenges that the brain cannot. or by things like stem cell research that will reverse or heal the brain damage that is causing the CP what do you guys think?

Will there ever be a cure for Spastic Cerebral Palsy?

When we know the root cause for it’s genesis, we will search for a cure. Once neutrons are damaged it's unlikely to be repaired or replaced (the only tissue in the body, that cannot be replaced) by our body or from external sources.tOther than the ones with perinatal problems (birth related) and some extremely rare metabolic conditions, we do not have an answer to this question yet.We can only ameliorate the symptoms of the same with the current knowledge we have. There are some milder forms of cerebral palsy that have become better with age due to plasticity of the brain teaching body and neutrons to take alternate paths to circumvent the difficulties that come with cerebral palsy- but the clinical features will always be there as subtle signs for a good clinician.I hope I do not come out as sounding negative, as generally I am a very optimistic spiritual person, hoping and praying for well being of every single soul on this planet.
