Help! Inbox is flooded with undeliverable email notifications - 700 today already.?

This is usually caused by a malware infection on your computer generating spam from your address. You need to do all of the following
1 - after changing your password, make sure the alternate address is still yours
2 - run a full virus scan and delete all infected files
3 - run a full malware scan and delete all infected files. If you don't have one, download and run the free version of Malwarebytes. Your virus scan will not detect malware.
4 - after running both scans, delete your browsing history and cookies and empty your cache
5 - restart your computer
this normally stops it

How do I recover AOL emails older than 7 days?

Hi, Both AOL Desktop and AOL Webmail use a spam filter that sends suspected messages to a spam folder. I read this information from Recover Deleted AOL mail from Trash Occasionally, AOL may accidentally detect important business email as spam, especially if you use one of the higher levels of filtering. You can easily recover these filtered messages and move them to your inbox or read the messages without moving them. If important messages get filtered often, you can change the filter settings to a lower sensitivity level.1.Click "Spam" in the mail folders list on the left side of your mailbox.2.Select the spam email you want to recover. If you're using AOL Desktop, click the email's line in the messages list. If you're using AOL Webmail, click the check box to the left of the email to select it.3.Click "This Is Not Spam" in AOL Desktop or "Not Spam" in AOL Webmail. Return to your inbox where you will find your restored message. If you just want to read the message in the Spam folder and not restore it to your inbox, single-click the message in AOL Webmail or double-click it in AOL Desktop.Use the email search feature to avoid looking through all the spam messages. Type search terms for the email's subject, contents or sender in the box above the mail pane. Press "Enter" to see the results. You can change your spam filter settings if important email messages frequently end up filtered. You can access these settings by clicking "Settings" above the mail pane in AOL Webmail or by selecting "Block Unwanted Mail" from AOL Desktop's Mail menu on the toolbar. Options include turning the filter off completely, filtering only obvious spam messages, filtering most spam and filtering all spam. It’s very simple. Select the AOL emails you want to recover, click on the Action button above then in the pull-down menu, click on "Inbox" under "Move To" group of commands. It's done! This action will recover the deleted emails in AOL Mail back to the Inbox.Hope this will help you.

I need to prove a point to my mom about the computer.?

Okay so the fan ran out on MY computer and so now I get on my moms computer to check my facebook and email or just to simply look up something, maybe once a day. She some how thinks its my fault and it was a virus that broke the other computer and now apparently I'm ruining hers, when I'm not. She says now it starts up slower and her bank website is a little slower, but it starts up the same to me! Maybe her bank website runs slower because of the layout of the website lol? She is paranoid! She thinks if I shut the laptop (what laptops supposed to do) is going to ruin it. She wants it left open. I changed the brightness so I can watch a video and she flipped out thinking that's why it "runs slower" I even ran a virus scan in front of her face and it said no threats detected computer is running normally. Anyone know how to prove to her? its really starting to annoy me to where I don't even get on now.

I think my Yahoo Email account has been compromised. Is there a fix?

Although there is a possibility you were 'hacked', it is far more likely that your address was compromised by one of the powerful spam bot networks. They can also 'spoof' the addresses in the From: area to make it more likely that they will be opened. Remember all those who use the To: or CC: heading rather than BCC: for addresses? Remember all those who forward e-mails with countless addresses still in them? They open all those addresses to spammers - all it takes is one infected computer down the line somewhere! Merely changing your password will not be enough - your account has been seriously compromised, and more of this type of letter will keep happening.

Carefully read the technical advice given by Leo Notenbloom in his columns - they are the best, most-detailed I have ever read. Read especially #2 and #4 BEFORE you set up a new safe account! Yes, you will probably chose to open a new account, and transferring your contacts and saved mail is time-consuming, but merely changing your password is not sufficient. You might wish to mail yourself copies of very important e-mails you saved as well, but that is time-consuming too.

AFTER you have read the advice, and copied your Contacts list, you should use the new account to contact everyone with your new address, including your name and 'new address', as well as an apology to them. Urge ALL of them to use BCC: and delete all addresses when forwarding mail too!

Consider opening an alternate account in Yahoo mail - When you add another name to the present account you will not lose anything - contacts, address list. Send an email to all your contacts with the new email address. If someone sends it to the old e-mail address, it will go to the same Inbox so you don't lose any messages.

Click the link below to get an extra email address for your existing account. Use it just as you would for your primary address (which of course you can still use). You can send and receive email from either address from the same Inbox.

If you want to make your secondary email address as your primary address, you can click on Options > Mail Options > Account Information > Password again. Once in your account you will see E-mail Information. Click to designate which one you want as your primary, then click SAVE.

My inbox shows 1 unread email even though I have no unread emails. I am using Google chrome. I tried searching "is: unread in:anywhere," but this doesn't work. Could anyone tell me how to fix this?

…and the answer made me smack my forehead.[math]~~~~~[/math]label:inbox[math]~~[/math]label:unreadEverything is done with labels in Google mail—everything. You’re welcome!—TDTAddendum: I saw the OP was 10/2015. I’m answering 8/2016. That’s a long time to wait for an answer! ;-)

How can I scan my email for viruses?

It seems that I have a virus on my email since all my contacts have received mails from my address. The subject being some gibberish and when open the there is only a website displayed. I did not send any of these mails. Is there anything I can do to stop this and protect myself against this type of thing from happening again?
