Can Drinking More Water Help You Lose Weight

Does drinking water help you lose weight?

Hello
drinking plenty of water will help you keep hydrated and also help you feel fuller. So it may aid weight loss if you then eat less. But you have to eat less calories than you burn to actually lose weight. Doing sit ups will help make your tummy look flatter and avoid gassy foods and try and go to the loo every day, which water should help with. Eat plenty of unprocessed healthy foods too such as fresh salads with fish( salmon or tuna). Also eat veggies with lean grilled meats like chicken and turkey. Brown bread and semi skimmed milk and low fat yogurts and fresh fruits are also great. I do 300 sit ups every other day which helps my abs look better and I avoid fizzy drinks and eat a high fibre cereal to keep my bowels regular as constipation can make your lower abs look fat. I also drink pro-biotics that replace healthy bacteria in your gut which are brilliant.

Hope that helps

How does drinking water help you lose weight?

drinking water can help someone to lose weight by replacing high calorie sodas and juices as a way to cut your daily calorie intake. it can help people to lose weight by helping you to feel more full when you eat because liquids fill up your stomach just as well as food. it can also help you to lose weight because fiber kind of soaks up water, if you're not drinking enough water for the fiber you eat, you'll get constipated. so by helping your bowels to keep on moving that reduces the weight in your intestines (and that bloated feeling).

water does not replenish any nutrients in your body, unless it specifically has certain minerals in it. the amount of these minerals would be so minor it is not good to consider it a dietary source. there can be trace minerals if it's natural water from the mountains or a well and that usually is what gives it a different taste that "pure" water.

the 8 glasses of water thing is highly debatable. increasing water intake does not necessarily flush anything out it just makes what you are already flushing out less concentrated. there are other mechanisms in our body that deal with removing unwanted materials. it's not like washing a car. the ideal amount of water intake varies by person to person and you only need to drink in what you are losing by sweating, urinating, crying, spitting and various other body fluid losses. secondly it doesn't all have to come from glasses of water. you absorb water by eating an apple or an orange, for example. the origin of this 8-glasses-a-day thing is very fuzzy. it is a conglomeration of science mixed in with public claims. in reality, we get almost all the water we need from the foods that we eat to meet the bare minimum for surviving. which would leave us with needing to drink only about 4 8-ounce glasses of fluid versus 8-10 for a moderately active person.

if you're not thirsty you don't need to drink, simple as that. if you're worried about your water levels, then just increase by 1 glass to help cover any gaps. our country is not in such a dire state of dehydration like water enthusiasts want you to believe. be reasonable.

Does Drinking water Help You Loose weight?

One thing that works for me is: before I eat, I drink a large glass of water, then if I'm still hungry, I won't eat as much as I would have.

also, fyi:

1 pound = 3500 calories.

If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight.

ie, if you eat 2000 calories per day and burn 2500, you will lose 1 pound every week.

the average person burns 1500-2000 calories per day, just being alive.

powerwalking can burn 200-500 calories per hour.
exercise bike can burn 200-600 calories per hour.
swimming can burn 100-800 calories per hour.
jogging/running can burn 300-1200 calories per hour.

Hi Tina:

Individuals who are trying to lose weight are often advised to drink more water. This is because water is filling and can keep their appetite at bay. The main reason why drinking more water is important, it hydrates the body cell walls which speed the weight loss.

Hot Water Verses Cold?
Both can have benefits.

Many experts tend to advocate cold water. The stomach obsorbs it more quickly and might enhance fat burning.

Some experts believe we can benefit from drinking hot water. Hot water improves our digestion and the assimilation of food. It helps to prevent the body from becoming toxic and clogged. By adding lemon or lime to the water (hot or cold) is very beneficial. They are natural detoxifiers, aiding in the removal of toxins (fat is considered a toxin)

Did you know, when our body is not getting enough water, it tries to hold on to the water it has. The lack of it makes our body use the existing water for other functions, sometimes leaving us bloated.

By drinking enough water, we will get rid of that excess water.
Over 70 percent of our muscle mass is made of water. Our bodies need a lot of water to function efficiently. Water not only helps to flush out harmful toxins, it readies the body for fat loss.

We are all guilty at one time or another, not drinking enough water.
The main purpose is that we hydrate our bodies.
If you are thinking of becoming leaner, healthier, and feeling good, drinking water is an absolute must.

Just drink!

It isn't that it helps you lose weight. You should be drinking about that much water each day or else your metabolism will slow down PREVENTING you from losing weight. In other words, with water you lose weight at the same rate with your metabolism; without enough your metabolism will slow down.
