Can Employent Reduce Your Pay By $5.50 Per Hour For Their Mistake

Is minimum wage the main cause of unemployment?

No.It's just one factor.  There are many things I would hire people to do at minimum wage, even more at lower, but other things factor in as well, especially the legal and liability issues now attached to everything like heavy leaden weights.Years ago, a construction crew could hire some local homeless people for sweeping up around the site and other minor tasks.  And often, they did.  Even when the needed temporary short term help- a truck arrives, the crew wants help unloading it, give the homeless guy ten bucks.  Today, the perils of a massive lawsuit resulting from a sweeper hitting his head on something and then demanding billions makes it not worth it anymore.  (The regular workers can't do that, they are covered by the Workman's Comp system, but an "off the books" casual helper could, very easily.)Regulatory burden is a major part, but I feel an even bigger factor is the mismatch between the careers people want and the things other people are actually willing to pay them to do.  For example, we still have a shortage of electricians and welders.  Once upon a time, people were smart enough to go after the things their environment offered.  Now, we take it for granted that the environment must be altered to suit our wants.  If we want to be a writer, and there aren't enough people willing to pay for writers, it must be someone else's fault and they damn well ought to fix it.

If you're undercharged at a restaurant, will the waiter be in trouble if you say something?

I would have to say the rule of thumb is .......

If you just got the check and have NOT paid yet you could tell the server she left something off. The server will not be in trouble. She can just run back to the computer and add it to the slip, or write it on the check and redo the math- the manager will have never known that there was an issue, and if they did they would not be mad at this or punish the server .

If you have paid then there is a chance that they server could be punished especially if it was a credit card. Restaurants don't like to adjust credit cards, or run them more than once in a night. First some places, depending on there system, will put a $50 hold on the card each time it is swiped no matter how much the charge is. Secondly, if you have to go in an adjust a credit card amount it also could put a $50 hold on your account twice. It is a pain to go into the system and reopen a table and adjust the credit card, as well as taking up unnecessary time of the managers.

Cash is king. Because of there is no "record" of cash like there is of a credit card to add something onto the bill after paying is not hard. There are no credit card amounts to re adjust, or holds on accounts and so on. They would just make a new check with the sodas they left off and you could pay for them. You give them $5.50 in cash and it is all set. No manager needed to get involved and no one gets in trouble.

I worked at a place that if you ran the credit card for the wrong amount or on the wrong table you got 1 strike. They would cut your hours back , put you in a bad station and basically "teach you a lesson" 3rd strike you were fired. I worked there for 4 years and only did it once. Now I work at a place and no one would care and I wouldn't be in trouble. All depends on the restaurant and how there computer system works and how it batches the credit cards.

Follow my rule of thumb and no one will be in trouble.

Aslo try to tip atleast 18%.... 15 at the lowest. Us waitresses make half of whatever minamum wage is....I make $2.76 an hour

How much does it cost to hire a virtual assistant?

The cost of a virtual assistant depends on who you are looking to hire as well as what help you need.First, figure out what you need help with.Second, determine what type of VA you’d like to hire.Third, if you have a huge list of tasks, you may need to outsource to more than one individual. If you are looking to go the cheap route, there are VAs that will work for little money. I’m talking very little money. Check out UpWork, Peopleperhour, Fiverr. If you want a more quality virtual assistant, those can cost more but are worth the investment. Less mistakes and more professionalism are always a plus in my opinion. You can find quality VAs on social media. Look for accounts with “Virtual Assistant” in the description/bio. Then, go check out their website. If you like their site and what they have to offer, get in touch!I’m pretty sure standard US rates for Virtual Assistants are $25/hr but some will work for less and others will work for more. Also, VAs package their services differently. Some Virtual Assistants have monthly retainers or monthly packages. Other virtual assistants work by the hour.Monthly could be $250/mo to $3,000/mo but like I said before, some VAs work for more and some work for less.If you have any more questions, feel free to get in touch.I hope this helped!Christina Virtual Solutions

Do you have to pay a short till?

So, I was forced today at my job (McDonalds) to pay a short till. My McDonalds, like most, is a franchise. And today my till was short $7 and my store owner forced me to pay the deficit. Is this legal? If it is not, please give me as much information as possible because I do not think this is legal. My manager says she has paid over $1,000 due to tills being short. I could understand if it is over $20 or something to that extent, but for such a small amount, shouldn't that be a write up? The more legal jargon the better. If you just say "Yes it is illegal" or "No, it is legal" that is great to hear, but I need lawful proof to back me up, or bring me down.

Yonkers to manhattan via subway?

The subway does not go to Yonkers.

Depending on where you are in Yonkers:

Option #1

Go to the Yonkers Metro-North station and take the train to Grand Central Terminal (42nd St/Park Av) to The MetroCard is not accepted on MetroNorth. The fare from Yonkers is $8.50 one way (peak), $6.50 off peak. Buy the tickets BEFORE you get on the train otherwise it will cost an additional $6.50. The MetroCard will work on local buses (Bee-Line) in Yonkers.

Option 2:

Take the 1, 1C, 1T, W2 and W3 Bee-Line Buses to 242nd St_Van Cortlandt Park. From there take the #1 train downtown to Times Square (or any station along 7th Av/Broadway.

Option #3:

Take the W4, W20 and W21 Bee-Line buses to Woodlawn (Bronx) and then a #4 train downtown to Grand Central (or any express top along the Lexington Av line).

The 14 day unlimited MetroCard is only worth it if you use it enough times. At a cost of $51.50, you would have to use it (pay the initial fare) 23 times within the 14 day period just to break even (23 x $2.25 = $51.75). Please note that any bus-subway, bus-bus or subway-bus transfer taken within the 2 hour window after the fare was paid doesn't count since that transfer would have been free anyway on the regular MetroCard.

When do Lyft drivers get paid?

If you are a new lyft driver, you will have to earn at least $50 before you can get paid immediately. Once you reach that amount, you can request an “express pay”. An express pay will be in your bank account typically within 15 minutes. You will have to register a debit card to do this so that lyft will be able to deposit your money into your bank account. You can get paid at anytime with the express pay as long as it is over a $5 minimum. It does cost .50 every time you request immediate pay unless you use a debit card that lyft offers. I believe it is a go card. Then it doesn’t cost anything to put the money on the card.If you choose to accumulate all the money made within the week, lyft starts processing direct deposits on Tuesday. The money should be in your bank account by Wednesday but it does depend on your bank.
