Can Heat Be Turned Off If Its 36 At Night

Is it safe to leave meat in sous vide overnight or for a day?

I’m not entirely sure what you’re asking. Some larger cuts of meat, for example a good sized whole brisket, especially beef, can take a day or two to cook sous vide. In those cases there’s no issue at all, as long as you maintain a safe cooking temperature and monitor your water level, as evaporation can become an issue with long cooks. For other items that require shorter cook times, I wouldn’t leave them overnight. For example, a steak may require an hour or two. Sure, you can leave it in the bath for a few more hours and it’ll be fine— that’s one of the beautiful things about sous vide. But at some point, even if you’re not exceeding specified temperature, the texture of the meat becomes… well, something less than desirable. You have lots of wiggle room with beef and pork. With more delicate foods, not so much. Fish, for example, needs to come out of the bath within a fairly short time after it’s reached desired temperature, or the texture turns bad.If you’re asking whether you can leave food in the bath overnight after it’s cooked and you’ve turned the heat off - then no, I definitely wouldn’t advise that. Put that food in the refrigerator or freezer if you’re not going to serve it.

I left my bearded dragons light on all night?!?

Hi! So I went to a sleepover and forgot to ask my mom to turn off her heat and uv lamps. I turned it off last night. So she had her light on for about 36 hrs. When I woke up this morning she was still in her hide but I thought it was ok since she was asleep and she was probably tired. I'm at my dads house and I asked my mom to turn off her lights and i asked her if she was out or inside of her cave and my mom said in. I don't know if she has been in the entire day?! Is she just really tired? Will she be okay? Please help thank u. :))

Do i need to turn off the light in my corn snakes tank?

Your heat source stays on to provide the correct temperatures. If you use a red low vis bulb as a heat source, leave it on. Turning off the light refers to a daylight heat bulb or, white tube light that will distinguish the natural day/night cycle pattern and, the day light is then turned off at night. When a daylight is being used in a set-up and is being turned off for nights, either a heat pad or, a red lamp bulb can be used to provide heat for a snake at night. As long as enough daylight is entering the room where you keep your snake, there is no need to change what you are doing. Red reptile bulbs are very low-vis to reptiles

If heat is included in rent can the landlord choose when to turn the heat on?

You should be allowed to use a portable heater, they even sell them at Walgreens, they are very easy to find.

Here is what the says about the dates and temps, as he does not have to heat it the same temp all of the time, it depends on how cold it is outside:

Heat must be supplied from October 1 through May 31, to tenants in multiple dwellings if: a) the outdoor temperature falls below 55 degrees Fahrenheit, between 6 A.M. and 10 P.M., each apartment must be heated to a temperature of at least 68 degrees Fahrenheit; (b) the outdoor temperature falls below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, between the hours of 10 P.M. and 6 A.M., each apartment must be heated to a temperature of at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit. (Multiple Dwelling Law § 79)

Basically it does not happen at all until Oct 1, and then it has to be below 55 outside during the day and 40 at night. The temp is pretty normal for the heat 68 during the day, 55 at night.

Editted after you added comments while I was answering....It does not matter that he knows, because it is not an issue until Oct.1st. This is September.

As I stated earlier, I do not believe there is no other way to provide heat if you want it. He can not stop you from buying a portable heter and plugging it into the wall. In your position I would have one regardless, just in case his heat does not work, you get up in the middle of the night and need to shower, etc. I live in CA, where it never gets that cold and I control my own heat and even I keep a couple of little room heaters around "just in case" or to heat the bathroom up for the kids to take a bath. You can get one for 20 bucks, well worth it.

How long of a UVB light for bearded dragon?

I have the exo terra 36x18x18 for one of my baby bearded dragons, my opinion is it's too small for a adult. However some adults don't reach 24 inches long so if the adult is under 18 inches then that size tank is fine. My oldest adult is 25inch long German giant bearded dragon and he had to be put in a 180 gallon because of his size. For UVB I use a single bulb for all my tanks, Zoo Med Powersun. It provides everything needed, and my bearded dragons love it. It provides UVB, UVA, light & heat. Perfect size for a 40/50 gallon breeder, 100watt is perfect for 40/50 gallon breeder and a 160watt for any tank bigger than that. By the way please do NOT use a heat pad. Bearded dragons cannot tell when they're getting hot on their belly so they don't know if they are burning themselves or not. I work at a petstore and at a animal rescue, I've seen so many innocent bearded dragons come in with 2nd and 3rd degree tummy burns, stick with above heat only. Compact coil UVB bulbs are known to burn bearded dragons eyes, stay away from them. Also 5.0 isn't enough for an animal that comes from Australia. 10.0 is highly recommended. Powersun was ranked the highest UVB. Unless your home gets colder than 65 degrees at night then don't use a night heat light, red light will disturb his sleeping. It's recommended not to use any lights at night unless your home gets colder than 65 degrees then you can use a ceramic heat emitter bulb. If you get a tube UVB then get the 10.0 Reptisun tube 18" long.

Why does it get hotter in my room at night when it gets colder outside (I don't turn on any heat)?

Assuming this is a real temperature rise, rather than just a perceived one, I have one more possible explanation:Air convection within a building is driven by something called the stack effect - it’s the same way a chimney works. Air inside the building is warmer than outside, so rises and escapes through openings at the top of the building. This draws cold air in through openings at the bottom of the building. This new air is heated and rises, and a continuous convection current is set up.Image source.Importantly, the flow rate is proportional to the difference in temperature between inside and outside.During the day, the outside temperature is high and the difference between inside and outside temperatures is small. As the outside temperature falls however, the temperature difference gets bigger. More of the heated air from downstairs is drawn up into your bedroom, and the bedroom temperature rises.

38 weeks 5 days...woke up last night in a sweat, is this normal?

I had night sweats when I was pregnant, I don't think it's necessarily significant of anything. Your body has trouble regulating your own temperature -- I was always too cold or too hot. That said, I did wake up with them the night before my water broke. But it could have just been a coincidence.

What happens if we keep phone for charging whole night?

Your phone battery will get charged and then stop, simple as that. The myth about all night battery charging being bad just sticks around because back in the day there were cases where batteries overheated and some even exploded. I would suggest reading this article to get a better view of things.MYTH 1: It’s bad to leave your cell phone recharging all nightThis myth stopped being true ages ago. In the past, yes, if you left your battery charging for a long time, it could overheat and even explode in extreme cases. Hence the belief was born that it’s bad to recharge your cell phone all night long.Could this happen today? No. Batteries and chargers are now prepared for any eventuality. And if you don’t believe me, here you’ve got a few statements from Andrew Goldberg, a tech writer at iFixit, a page about repairs.“Contrary to what you might think (or have been told), leaving your phone or laptop plugged in all the time is not bad for its battery. That’s because your gadgets, the batteries in them, and the chargers you attach them to are actually pretty smart about the way they do business.”Find out more here - 7 unreal myths about your cell phone battery that you still believe are true

What is the lowest temperature to leave a thermostat so that the pipes don't freeze?

The best answer is a formula, not a single number.Find the coldest pipes in your house (on an outside wall, in the basement, next to an inner cold space like an unheated chase, etc).  Measure the temperature there (use an IR heat gun or leave a thermometer there until the reading stabilizes).  Then check the setting on your furnace thermostat.  Subract the difference between those two numbers. That's your delta (D).   In theory, you'll want to set the thermostat to be that much higher than freezing (freezing + D).Of course that's the minimum temperature.  If your thermostat/furnace is slow to respond to a fast temp drop, or the house's heat is slow to reach your coldest pipes, the pipes may fall below freezing for a while.  Frankly that probably won't be long enough for them to freeze, but I'd add a little extra margin for error (D + a small sigma), just to be safe.  It's also possible that if your temps drop well below normal, the coldest spot in your house may differ from your thermostat more than you expect (differ by more than D).  If there's a chance of that, make your sigma a bit bigger.Alternatively, you might want to turn off the water to the house and drain the lines.  This is quick and easy to do.  Then you need to worry only about the temperature of your water cutoff valve and meter.  If you wanted to wrap these in heated tape monitored by its own thermostat, you could probably shut off all heat to the house too.Personally, I set my house's thermostat to 55 when I'm away.  Seting it lower just isn't worth the risk, IMHO.  AND I turn off the water. One more thing.  IIRC, some older thermostats actually turn off when you set them to their lowest temperature (like 50F).  Don't accidentally turn off your furnace that way.
