Can I Be A Formula 3 Driver

How to be a formula 1 driver?

Attend racing school. Reputable racing schools offer multi-day classes at tracks throughout the country. Learn the basics of handling a more powerful open wheel car.

Move to Europe as a teenager. Get a ride in Formula 3 or Formula 3000. While a few drivers who honed their skills on the American circuits have successfully made the move to Formula 1, there is a much greater chance of success if you climb the racing ladder in Europe.

Race hard and move to teams that offer a greater chance to finish on the podium. Attract the attention of a Formula 1 boss by performing consistently well in the lower levels. Find a good agent to help promote you and capitalize on your success on the track.

Become a test driver for a Formula 1 team. It is preferable to start Formula 1 racing, but some current drivers first honed their skills as test drivers—developing race strategies through endless test laps as they learned the nuances of each track on the circuit.

Find funding to support your campaign. Smaller teams with more precarious funding consider taking a driver who brings sponsorship to the team.

How to be a formula 1 driver? where do i start?

no matter how talented you are, you need to either: 1. Be rich
2. Be very good friends with some1 who is rich

otherwise it's hopeless i'm afraid.

PS. there are millions of other questions just like this... why can't you just have a look at them?

Also it's fine saying "I'm very fast so i'll get myself noticed then sponsored" but the truth is you need to get to at least KF3 on you own, which is going to cost you hundreds of thousands of pounds (that's if you are even good enough), then there are still lots of rich and talented young drivers to compete with.

How much money is needed to be a formula 1 driver?

Let's start from the beginning and assume you have to self fund all of it. This is a fairly rapid advance as well as well; so it would likely be higher than this. The karting section can be trimmed as well though. Just approximations.5 years of jr karting at 40 k a piece (200k)2 years Sr international karting 80 k (160k)1 year of F4 150k 2 years of F3 800 k (1.6 million)2 years of Gp2 3 million (6 million)Buy a mediocre f1 seat 20 millionSo you're looking at 28 million dollars if you must entirely self fund/ find your own sponsorship, give or take.

How do you become a Formula 1 driver in India?

There goes the impossible. Let me tell you this is a near impossible feat and I am the best exmaple of someone who tried and failed. You need three basic things talent, money and luck. You must start before you are a teenager. The best start would be to start racing in go-karts. Apply for a go-kart racing license from Federation of Motorsports. You need to buy a seat from a team, yes its all about money. Initially you use your own money to start, but eventually you will need a sponsor. You could secure a sponsor if you are talented and some company notices it. Make your way by winning regional championships and then international. The first step is easy, in my time I was very dominant in go-karts, with a few club championships. Things went sour when I failed to get sponsorship and I sacked this idea just before my 11th birthday. Now imagine you are about to enter your teenage. You have dominated karts and you have at least Rs.50Lakh in sponsorship, then make a move to formula 4. The best one will be the British version of it. Same as before apply a license, buy a seat and win. Get more sponsors and move to formula 3. If you get noticed by teams, one of the team will invite you test for them and if you impress they will sign you.Eventually at your early 20s, with a couple of championships and multi million dollars of sponsorship, a f1 team will approach you. Your manager could also talk to them. They will arrange test drives for you and once you get a super license you will be signed as test and reserve driver. If you maintain your form, money and luck, a racing role will come soon. But as I said its near impossible. Don't dream what you can't achieve. Its pretty much over for you. Even if you miss a single step or you get a little older. At the most anyone could get a seat in formula 4 with money, but retaining it or moving higher won't be possible.

I'm 15 and want to become a formula 1 driver. Is it too late to start karting?

So great comments.  Why not expand your horizons and think about other forms of racing.  I raced karts back in the 1060's in the US with a kid named Scott Pruett.  He went on to win 10 pro karting championships.  He began to establishing himself as one of the top sports car racers winning 2 IMSA GTO and 3 Trans-Am Championship titles.Sport cars lead to an indycar ride where he was the driver for the Firestone Tire indycar team.  He helped them return to indycar and give them their first victory. He even raced NASCAR with minimal success.  However he is often hired as a road course ringer. He is now at the top of the sports car world.  He consider to one of, if not the best sport car racers.  He has won 11 american sports car championships, 5 24 hours of Daytona overall winsThe point is you don't have to be an F1 driver to be famous or make a very good living.  Start karting now and have fun and develop skills.  If you finances allow, then take some spec class SCCA racing if you are in the US or something equivalent.   It will be very apparent how much talent you have and if professional racing is in your future. I raced with Pruett from ages 9-12...it was very apparent even at that young age, he was hands down much better than all of the other competitors.

How does formula 3 teams select drivers?

It depends, you can have very good skill in a car, but you would still need some money to bring to the team if you wanted to make it to where you want to go, try and get noticed, attract sponsorships, then teams will notice you.Good luck Bro :)
