Can I Be Charged With Drug Paraphernalia I Left In My Parents House If I No Longer Live There

What happens if the cops are called on a parentless party you're throwing as a minor?

Well if you’re the minor throwing the party, just pretend you are one of the guests and leave with everybody else. :) dont take the responsibility if you don’t have to.But what would happen legally if you were caught having a party with underaged kids drinking? Depends where you are located. But possibly arrested and taken in and fined. He could be charged for underage drinking and supplying alcohol to minors- and also the parents could be charged. It is a misdemeanor though in most states I believe. If some kids were caught at the house drinking they could get arrested for underage drinking. As long as no one got in an accident those are probably the only charges. If someone gets in an accident and dies, then the parents would be charged with some kind of criminal negligence, because they’re supposed to know what is going on at their place of residence. The penalties get worse if there is more to it than just underage drinking.id like to add that when I had a party that got out of control, i had already prepped my house for it so there were no valuables. I tried to get everybody to leave once I realized people had to park a mile away because my entire cul de sac was filled with parked cars. Eventually the police were called and everyone scattedred thru my backyard including myself. I didn’t care to lock up or anything because there were already 100s of people in there and House was prepped. My dad, aunt, and brother were all attorneys at the time so I always acted like a spoiled brat ass hole and got away with murder usually. I live in New Jersey though, so I think that the police don’t take house party calls as serious as other states. NJ can have uber rich folks and a half mile away be an apocolypto ghetto. So they have other things to worry about at least in this area.

If you are living in a house where drugs are being sold and are there while the house is raided by the police, will you likely be arrested if you have no involvement? And if yes, on what charges and is a conviction likely?

Most of the time, raids are not a spur of the moment operation. A LOT of investigation goes into them, and they are meticulously planned and orchestrated.  The police often know who will be in the home at the time, but sometimes they do not know. When a house gets raided, usually everyone present at the time is brought to the police station. If your name is on the list of people who the case has been built around (either through undercover buys or informants), you are pretty likely to be charged, depending on if it can be shown you had control over the drugs or what was going on inside. These investigations can last weeks or months, and if you are present at the time, it may have been why the raid happened when you were there. The facts will be reviewed by a states attorney who will decide whether - or if - you are to be charged. Charges could include possession of a controlled substance or possession with intent to deliver, or delivery of a controlled substance. It all depends on the statutes in your state, and to what degree of involvement you are tied.  Is a conviction likely? It all depends. The prosecution will have to prove you acted "knowingly and willingly".  If they cannot do so, a conviction is unlikely. If they can, well ...But, if you just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, chances are once things get sorted out, you will be released without charges.  In either case, I recommend you contact an attorney as early as possible. But before any of the above happens, maybe you should look for another place to live.

Police fingerprinting drug paraphernalia?

Ok long story short I had some vodka and weed and pipes stored in this backpack of mine. I'm 18 and living with my parents so I would hide it about a block from my house in a somewhat deserted area. Anyways I get a call from home today while at work that the cops found a back pack with my name written in it (oops) that contained illegal substances. The police came to my work and I fed them a lie and either they believed me or didn't feel like busting me. I didn't get a ticket and I denied everything was mine and said I hadn't seen the pack in months. The officers said something about fingerprint testing the paraphernalia and vodka. Can/would he do this just to give me a simple MIP? The backpack was outside through a rain storm and snow storm and other people touched both items in the same place I did so I imagine the finger print readings would be a mess. Another question, I have a drivers license but have never been in legal trouble before so would they even have a fingerprint for me to access?

Please help this is worrying me at the moment

Can I refuse a drug test from my parents?

I live in the state of Florida, I am 15 years old, and yeah, I smoke pot. My parents are mormon(Just to make the situation worse.) I've had issues with my parents for about 2 months now, mainly over paraphernalia and religion.
Here's what happened: My dad smelled marijuana yesterday and blames me for smoking in the house. I did not, I guess he's just got a killer sense of smell. He called the cops and they brought a K9. The cops gave me the option to 1)Give up my paraphernalia willingly and not have any trouble, Or 2)Have the dogs find it, take it anyway, and arrest me. Right in front of my parents I gave them my rolling papers, my lighter, my bowl, all my weed, bong, etc. I thought I had nothing left but forgot there was weed in the bottom of my deodorant(great place to store it btw, masks the smell beautifully). They arrested me, and I spent a night in jail. But hey now I have nothing left, so even if I wanted to continue with all that, I have nothing to do it with! No more allowance, no job, so honestly haha, I just can't. Their house their rules, I understand all that now, and I respect it.
This morning they tell me that they ordered a drug test. I think that's complete bulls*it, they've already brought the cops into the situation, put me in jail, they KNOW i smoked weed. And now a drug test? What's it going to prove? I do not want to take it. Yeah, I know I'm guilty and would be tested positive but they already know that too. They just don't know of the other drugs and if they found out, all that would do is cause more problems. I'm trying to just move on and forget all of it and they're just gonna make it worse. I don't want whatever else that's in my system to tear apart my family even more. It's all my past now and I don't want any of it to be brought up again.
SO, What are my rights, if I even have any? Can I refuse it? And if I still can't refuse, What would happen if I did anyway?
Everyone with a smart a$$ comment, I do not care at all, Thank you. I'm serious, I just need an answer asap, please.
*Just some extra info; I do NOT pop pills. I have drank, but don't do it frequently. I strictly stick to natural supplements. I am prescribed adderall, clonidine, and thyroid hormone. I take St. John's Wort (Anti-depressant plant extract). Would any of that show up in a drug test?(besides adderall of course). Would any of it cover up anything else that could be in a drug test? Just wondering.

If you smelled pot coming from someone's house would you call the police? Could the police do anything?

Sometimes yes we can. It all depends.Back in January, 2017 a neighbor called that she could smell the odor of burning marijuana emanating from her next-door neighbor’s apartment. We responded to the location. It wasn’t my call. I was acting as the cover officer. As soon as we got out of our cars we could smell the marijuana. Last January was very cold and snowy and everyone had their doors and windows closed and the odor was still very strong — that’s pretty impressive. So we made contact with the calling party and she directed us to the right apartment. We knocked on the door like the gentlemen we are and, incredibly, the door opened. We were slammed in the face by a wall of marijuana smoke. I could barely see that there were three men in the room behind the homeowner who had thoughtfully opened the door to us. They were smoking a couple really pretty, and expensive, glass bongs (Oregon is next door and there is a head shop just a little ways across the state line). They were all in their late fifties and just kicking-back watching the NFL AFC Championship game (New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers), smoking some grass, drinking beer and eating pizza. The responsible officer explained to the occupants why we were there and asked if they were indeed smoking pot. They said yes they were and let us into the apartment when we asked if we could come in (the other officer and I are big believers in the soft approach first). We confiscated the bongs and pot, and the primary officer issued them a summons for possession of a controlled substance. The homeowner also got a ticket for possession of drug paraphernalia (the two bongs which he stated were his). They were all nice guys and it was obvious they were very experienced pot smokers. I kept the door open since the air was so heavy with pot smoke. It was making me a little sick actually. We thanked them for their cooperation (I felt like we were British cops) and left. The whole call was very civilized.

Laws on teenage House party?

basically i am having a house party for my 16th. there will be people between the age ranges of 15-19 and there will be loud music. there will also be alot of drinkin smoking etc...
If the police were to get called and they came round to find underage drinking what would happen? i need to know the exact law.

Please help! Was just terminated from my job for "drug paraphernalia.."?

He didn't call the cops because he knows there would be no case. If the pipe was not in your locker and was not in your possession, there is no way to prove that it belonged to you or that you brought it into work. Besides that, the only "record" this information will be on is your work record with that company. You will not have any police record because the police were not called. Your boss cannot divulge that information to others because that would be against confidentiality laws and border on slander. I'm not sure that the papers you signed are even legal because you are a minor and you did not have your parents present at the time you signed (or an attorney for that matter). I think what the boss did was terrible, he used bullying tactics to fire you and to cover his own butt (and to keep you from filing for unemployment) he had you sign the papers.

Don't use him as a reference obviously. But also don't worry about this information being on any sort of "record," because it won't be. It will be kept in your personnel file at that job and that's it.

My parents threw out my bowl?

First of all, I'm 18. I'm very responsible, I take care of myself, I'm a diligent worker and a very motivated, driven person. I'm a good kid, I don't party or get myself into any trouble. However.. I AM a teenager and I have friends that do things like that. I do not drink at all.. I hate it.. but I OCCASIONALLY smoke weed. This is a very very rare occurrence. Last year I only did it four times... this year I have only done it twice. Really. It's fun in moderation but I would never want to do it day in and day out and I can't really stand the people that do. I live an active, healthy lifestyle. Etc. Etc. You get the point.

I would never ever ever do it in my home or on my parent's property. I do not possess any weed, didn't when they found the bowl and hadn't for at least six months. I had only used the bowl ONCE on new years and that's it. My mother found it in my bag after I had gone to a friend's house for the night.. I was going to lend it to the friend but she didn't need it.

My parents were upset when they found it but when I explained all of it to them... they lightened up a lot. They were prepared to be really angry with me and prepared for me to be a horrible child but I'm not.. I feel as though they're disappointed because there wasn't any drama.

They decided to throw the bowl out though. It was a really gorgeous, glass bowl that I payed $40 for. I am a legal adult and it was my property. Should they reimburse me?

What happens if I find drugs in my teen son's room and I turn him into the police?

My 17 year old is under the belief that marijuana should be legal and all the stuff we hear about is propaganda. We live in Texas. My belief is if it's illegal, then DON"T DO IT until it IS LEGAL. He has been living with his adult sister. We are moving him back home with us so she can get on with her life and he can finish highschool. I am adamant that if we find anything there should be serious consequences. My belief is - you are an adult (in the state of Texas criminally - you will be tried as one at the age of 17) you will have consequences and will follow and obey the rules of our house and property.

My husband agrees with me and is prepared to follow through. I will make it clear that I will go through his stuff as it is on our property. I am quitting my job so I can be home full time to take care of him. I will be supervising him and allowing praise and encouragement as necessary. I will help him seek out more positive things in his life. However, if I find hint of drugs, I am willing to turn him into law enforcement.

My question is: Will I be in trouble if I call them immediately because I find drugs on the property and turn him in? Will they charge me for paraphernalia/possession if I find it in his room on his person or catch him in the act and I don't touch the stuff and turn him over immediately?

I do NOT want this to be an empty threat. We will not provide a lawyer either. He will be appointed one through the court since he really cannot afford one. In the past he has stolen money from his dad. That would also be reported as theft. I am holding him accountable for his actions. He can learn now while he is young and see we are VERY SERIOUS or he can learn later and ruin his life.

***There is more to the story, so if it seems weird ignore the extra information about why then and why now. I don't wish to explain that part since it would get me more information than I care about. ***
