Can I Bring My Friend Into The States

Would it be hard to bring a friend to the United States?

very hard. actually, you wouldn't be able to do it. friends can't sponsor friends under US immigration law. he'd have to find some other way to qualify for a green card. there are some employment based immigrant visas and there's the Diversity Visa Lottery program which is closed at the moment until next October. he'd need to have at least a high school diploma to register, but the chances of winning any given year is under 1%. check out travel.state.gov and go into the visa section to see what sort of immigrant visas and nonimmigrant visas are potentially available.

How can I bring my cousin to United States?

Only US citizens can sponsor & petition for immigration. You are not a citizen and cannot petition for anyone (except a spouse, who will have to wait for at least a couple of years). Secondly, a US citizen may only petition for an immediate blood relative - parent, child, or sibling - or a spouse. Even if you were a citizen, you could not petition for a grandparent, aunt, uncle, nephew, niece, cousin, etc. You are never going to be able to bring in your nephew.

If your cousin has at least a baccalaureate degree in a high-tech field, plus at least 2 years of work experience in his field, he could try to obtain a job and a temporary employment visa. However, over 31 million Americans are currently looking for work while jobs are disappearing, so that's not likely to happen even if he were qualified. Only employers can obtain employment visas; he cannot. And mind you, employment visas are TEMPORARY anyway.

If he wants to immigrate to the US on a permanent basis, he will need an immediate blood relative who has sufficient income to guarantee his support as his sponsor. Then he waits in his own country until a visa is available. There are already thousands of people approved for immigration who are waiting 10 or 20 years or more to be admitted. He's not coming to the US anytime soon even if he has a fully qualified sponsor to petition for him.

Can i bring a friend to jury duty? (CA)?

Your friend will probably not be permitted to remain in the jury assembly room, where the jurors are gathered before being called to a courtroom. But courthouses and courtrooms are public places, and your friend could certainly be in those places at any time, though your friend would not be able to sit with you. There might be restrictions upon whether you could engage in conversation with your friend while you are waiting. I doubt that there would be, but ask.

When I go hunting can I bring a friend?

The term is "active participation"
The law denotes that anyone can accompany you as long as they are not actively participation in the hunt. This mean they are welcome to follow on a stock, sit in the blind with you, get up in treestand. While doing this they can listening, learn, share in the experience by taking pictures. However if they are indeed unlicensed, they can't help you in any way! This means no, "here's my lanyard, try calling for a bit" , "Hold my rifle while I climb in the blind" , "Push that lot while I stand on watch". All of these constitute active participation in the pursuit of game and thus your friend is now committing a crime.

It really is ridicules that if your trying to get someone into hunting the law denotes that you can't show how to rattle when your up in the tree stand or show him how to hail in the duck blind. But the law is the law. Take him out with you, may be the experience of just being there will be enough.

Good luck.
Good hunting.

Can my mom bring me and my underage friend into a bar?

Every US state has different laws. We are talking US aren’t we? In many states she can bring you and your friend into certain kinds of establishments that serve alcohol. Mostly restaurants. In others, she can take you into a real bar at the discretion of the bar. That is, they can set their own policies, but you have no right to go in and they certainly will not serve you alcohol. During my first marriage, my wife was younger than the drinking age and I was older. My favorite bar said they would let her come in with me as her guardian, but they couldn’t serve her alcohol. On to your friend. I think in most states your mother could bring both of you into a restaurant, but I would be surprised if very many would accept the argument of “temporary guardian.”You need to find out what the local laws are and keep in mind that in some parts of the country (mostly the South) they differ from county to county.

When I visit marijuana dispensaries, can I bring my friend who doesn't have a recommendation? Or does he have to wait outside? (Cali)?

This is a state specific question. Answer will vary by jurisdiction. It depends on the SOP's of the company. You can't purchase medicine without a card. CA dispensaries, to prevent any confusion, won't even let you up to the counter without one. Same in CO, even though they have visitor protocols. However, in CA, you can list another person as your caregiver. If you place this person on your recommendation as the one who is legally allowed to purchase for you, then he can join you to assist with your purchase, or even purchase for you if you are not there due to said illness. In theory, your caregiver would never consume your meds, just like when your grandma asks you to grab her prescription from Walgreens, you're not entitled to two pills from each bottle before dropping them off.  This isn't a system to abuse, but if you have a friend who you are with constantly and can trust, make them your caregiver. You can call also ahead to some dispensaries and let them know you have a skeptical friend who has an ailment that Cannabis could treat, and you'd like to ask permission for him to join you as an official visitor to speak with staff and show them the benefits. I had calls like this often in CA, and agreed on a case by case basis.
