Can I Connect A Sprint Iphone 4 To Metro

I have a Sprint iPhone and a MacBook. Is there a way I can connect to the internet without jailbreaking or paying an extra premium to Sprint?

Afraid not. If you don't have a plan that supports a hot spot with Sprint, then there is no way to turn your phone into one.

Can you use a Sprint iPhone with Metro PCS?

Yes, as long as youre Sprint iPhone is unlocked, you should be able to use it on MetroPcs, depending on the model. If it is an iPhone 7, it can be used without any trouble. (make note that an AT&T/T-Mobile iPhone 7 won’t work on Verizon/Sprint, even though vice versa works fine). If its a 6/6S, you can also use it fine on MetroPCS. Unfortunately, if you have a 5/5S/5C, you can still use most of MetroPCS’s bands, but some will not be supported. As for the SE, it cannot be used at all if it us from Sprint.

Can I get my Sprint phone to work for Metro PCS?

Yes. It is possible. I'm actually using a Sprint compatible Moto E LTE on the Metro PCS network. I see that other answers to this question are incorrectly categorizing a Sprint device as a CDMA device. While Sprint does in fact use the CDMA network standard, 99% of Sprint devices also have GSM capabilities. Example: my Sprint Moto E LTE has a Qualcomm MSM8916 baseband. The MSM8916, however, not only supports CDMA network standards, but also supports GSM standards. This is the case with nearly all Sprint devices. Check the specs of your Sprint device. As long as your device supports the 1900MHz (PCS) GSM band, and supports LTE Bands 2, 4, 12, 66 & 71 (or are least 3 out of those 5), your phone should have no problem at all working on the Metro PCS network.

Connect an at&t to metro pcs?

Sorry A T&T uses GSM network and their cell phones uses sim cards. Metro PCS uses CDMA network and does not use any sim cards on their phones. Metro PCS uses a unique ESN number digits behind the battery on the cell phones to activate the phone.

So you will not be able to use any A T&T cell phone onto Metro PCS. You can bring any verizon wireless or sprint phone to Metro PCS since Verizon and Sprint uses CDMA network also. Just bring your Verizon or Sprint phone to any Metro PCS store and they will flash it for you. Flash means they will change the software on the phone so that it will work with Metro. There will be a one time fee to flash the phone.

Can you connect a tracfone to metropcs?

No, Sorry, it can't be done. Tracfones have the highest security in the business of locking up phones. Metro can flash many phones over, but mostly Sprint and Verizon. Other brands that are hard to convert/flash to Metro include Virgin Mobile. Some Tracfones don't have sims, most do. The ones with sims are forevermore impossible to convert , as Metro technology does not use sims. Even the ones that don't use sims like Metro , are so old school and few and far in between as to not be worth your time to convert it. It's better to buy a cheap Verizon/Sprint phone and have it flashed.

But , make sure you are not in a trimode Metro area as Verizon /Sprint phones are not trimode and no matter what you do, it won't matter. You won't be able to use their dual band phones on Metro trimode areas.

Will my iPhone 8 Plus from Sprint be able to be used by MetroPCS?

The other answers are incorrect. If the iPhone has a SIM slot it can be unlocked and be used for GSM AND CDMA. It is the software lock that carriers install to prevent usage on another carrier before your contract is up. Keep in mind Apple also manufactures GSM only models that work only on GSM. CDMA iPhones works on both GSM and CDMA.The only iPhone model that is stuck on CDMA is the CDMA iPhone 4 which doesn’t have a SIM slot. Most iPhones are equipped for both CDMA and GSM campailites. However generic carrier phones are not unlockable. Yet this depends on so many things. In order to request an unlock from sprint you need to have an account in good standing. You phone cannot be reported stolen and must have been active for at least 50 days with Sprint’s network . Once you have fufilled these requirements Sprint will unlock your phone. Sprint is one of the most notorious carriers when it comes to unlocking. I usually call them by phone when ever I request an unlock, expect to be on hold for a while because Sprint puts minimal priority on customers trying to unlock. I was on the phone with them and it took me thirty minutes just to get them to unlock my iPhone. Expect to be on hold. Once the phone is unlocked, you can use it on pretty much any carrier. Including international carriers.Another way to circumvent the carrier lock is to install a physical hard ware chip between the SIM card and the reader pins. They are readily available on eBay or Amazon for under 10 dollars. This is really useful if your phone is still under contract or you don’t want to hassle with Sprint.Good luck liberating your iPhone from Sprints hostage. I am a firm believer that people should be able to freely switch from carrier to carrier. This generic Sprint phone cannot be unlocked, period. iPhones can.

Explain how Metro Pcs Can unlock a Cell Phone from sprint?

if i understand right you are trying to find out if you can use your sprint phone with metropcs and if you will get a new phone number or keep sprint.

1st off yes you can use a sprint phone as long as its listed here:

as far as number goes if your sprint account is active still it can be ported in to mpcs if not its gone. in order to port a number the acct its being ported from must be active but only in till the wireless number portability dept of both companies say its ok to disc.

also you may want to know when you "flash" a phone (use a phone not from mpcs) it can only make calls and regular text messaging.... not even picture messing.

by the way i work in 1 of the call centers for metropcs that's how i know... personally i wouldn't get metropcs if it was available where i live... customer service is horrible and im not referring to the people you talk to... im talking about corp office... they removed sms from $40 plan on oct 1st and replaced with 3 way calling.... nobody wants 3 way calling... 1/100 calls i get will anyone ever ask for 3 way. now people have to pay an extra $3 for sms or get $45 plan.

Why does my metro pcs iPhone 4 connect to iMessage or FaceTime!?

Metro PCS isn't a supported iPhone carrier (only AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint), so Facetime or iMessage will not work over cellular data. You can jailbreak it to regain these features.
