For those who deem Prong Collars Cruel...?
You KNOW me, babes. I use prongs and the dominant collar. Superior training tools. Superior tools when used properly for compulsion. I use well made prongs. No cheap ones. I also do NOT leave the collar on all the time. Just as a tool for behavior problems and training. I have yet to see one of my dogs cower and tuck tail when I bring out the prong. The reaction I get is an immediate calm sit. When walking a strong dog, such as Launi, the prong and/or dominant collar comes in very helpful. Owning an American Pit Bull Terrier ups the responsibility of the owner. Even though she walks wonderful on a buckle collar I will only walk her on a prong or dominant collar. I can NEVER take the chance of loosing control for ANY reason. And I have never had a well made prong 'break loose'.
Frozen dog leash clasp...?
Any ideas how to keep my dog's chain clasp/clip from freezing in the winter or how to thaw it quickly? I usually have to warm it with my bare hands before I can put him on it.
