Can I Enter A University Course With No Experience At That Course

If you have no experience with MongoDB, does passing any of the online courses from MongoDB University have any weight when trying to get hired as MongoDB DBA or Developer using MongoDB?

My answer would be yes. The assignments and quizzes given by the mongodb university team is suffice to tackle the configuration and basic troubleshooting skills. But, to have a wider understanding of the concepts, issues you can browse stack overflow and mongodb user group in google groups. (Google Groups )You get all levels of support from mongodb expert team including Dwight Merriman, co-founder of MongoDB.To gain hands on experience similar to real-time, you can use amazon aws free tier (Free Cloud Services – AWS Free Tier ) for 12 months. This would help you to configure your own clusters and see how the clusters talk to other and exchange the data. If you have any operational experience such as monitoring, configuring alerts, tracking metrics, automating repetitive tasks, I'm sure industry needs you.

I wont be entering a university until i turn 25. Is this abnormally old?

sorry but it is. most universities don't like accepting old students that have not come straight from high school.

Can you major in music without any previous music experience?

No. To be admitted to a college or university music program, you’ll probably have to audition before they allow you to begin a music major of any kind. It depends on what your major is. If you want to major in an instrument, you need at least 5–10 years of lessons in that instrument. If you want to major in voice, you need voice lessons behind you or at least a decade or so of choral work that has prepared you to sing art songs at the college level. For theory/composition, piano preparation is essential. Even a couple of years of piano lessons will make a huge difference. In my opinion, you won’t be able to pass an audition without previous music experience, and that’s good because a music major program is demanding and will eat you alive if you don’t come in with enough music training to keep up with your classes.I majored in music and came in with a few years of piano lessons (enough to get through the audition) and a history of choral singing since age 4, including multiple choirs throughout my teens. I could read music very well. I didn’t finish as a music major because at the time my college didn’t offer a theory/composition major, but I loved that first year in the music department. I worked really hard and loved every minute of it.If you have no music experience but still want to study music at the college level in the music program (not just music appreciation), then I recommend you take theory and piano classes at a community college for at least one year just to see if you have the aptitude for it. Make sure you tell your teachers at the community college that your goal is to major in music and which college/university program you are interested in. They should know how to guide you. Good luck to you.

21 Year Old Female Without Job Experience?

I think that you might have given up on soon way to soon. College is sometimes met with difficulties, but you're there to learn and not necessarily know everything when you enter. As far as the math- you were only in the 3rd week, you could have gotten a tutor, formed a study group with other students, speak with the teacher, something to help you out so that you could get through it. I know that sometimes it difficult trying to get through things when you feel that it's too difficult. I think that you need to return to school, you could even go during the summer. As far a working, maybe you can volunteer somewhere while you apply for jobs, that way you will be obtaining some sort of unpaid work experience that you'll be able to make useful. Try a temp agency if there's one nearby. There are also vocational programs and short term career programs that provide some type of training that you may be able to find in your area.

How can one become a fashion designer, starting with no experience?

The answer depends on what type of "fashion designer" you aim to become. If you are referring to a fashion designer that works as an employee completing technical design (and trend analysis, etc) for companies such as JCrew, Gap/Banana Republic, Vince, North Face, Land's End, C Wonder, Ann Taylor and all the other contemporary brands out there, then you will need to obtain a formal education with the required skills - and many schools offer this, not just Parsons or FIT.  This is like any other job; a competition of resumes and training. If instead you are referring to becoming a creative director, or a fashion designer for your own branded line, then the path is not rigid with formal education, but instead requires immense talent, business sense, and energy.  Here, interning for a top designer or top pattern maker would be an important step. I recommend doing both, ideally in Paris, London, New York, or Milan.  Examples of such designers include Tom Ford, who did not study fashion design at all but studied architecture at Parsons, and obtained a key internship.  The rest is history.  At least 50% of the top luxury designers today fit this category, including Miuccia Prada, Yigal Azrouel, Altuzarra, Dolce & Gabbana, and Karl Lagerfeld (Lagerfeld was hired as Pierre Balmain’s assistant at age 17 and worked with him for three years. After working as Balmain’s assistant, Lagerfeld became Jean Patou’s art director for five years.)  Immense talent, no formal design school training.  Learn on the job, under a very talented mentor. Finally, if you have the financial resources, then you can have a company overnight and hire designers to formally execute your vision (see e.g., Victoria Beckham and Tory Burch), and hire PR to generate sales.  Capital is the main barrier to entry and success in this industry.

Should i lie about work experience on UCAS...?

I am 19 and currently applying for university. I am on the access course which i kind of a mature student route to university. The thing is i have had no work experience (terrible i no), and i was wandering if this will effect the universities decision in accepting me. I have done various college courses since i left school, and never thought about getting a job. Should i lie and say i have had experience (i.e worked in this bar for 6 month etc) or should i just tell the truth...
