AT&T vs straight talk for smart phones?
See I'm trying to convince my dad that AT&T is a better deal because you get discounts on the phones, (some of them are even free) even though straight talks monthly bills are cheaper you have to pay full price for the phones. What are your thoughts?
Can I change my SIM card on Straight Talk?
Okay I have an unlocked Iphone 4G, and I bought my SIM card thinking it would work. Little did I know it was a T-mobile one, I looked online and it says it should work with my phone but it is not working at all. My SIM card keeps saying no service, and invalid sim card. So I'm just going to buy a new one. Also StraightTalk got rid of the AT&T SIM card, so I'm just going to order it on eBay. I already set up the SIM card to my account, I know stupid of me, but when I buy my new one is it possible for me to set up my service with that cause I already paid 45 dollars for that.

If it is a ST branded phone, then no, because these phones are locked to ST sim cards. As with Straight Talk's parent company, Tracfone, this locking feature is proprietary so there isn't any unlocking method for them. But if the phone does not have the Straight Talk logo on it, then it means that it does not have this proprietary lock, and that it can either accept the T-Mobile sim right away (if it is unlocked or is T-Mobile locked) or it will be much easier to unlock so that it will accept a T-Mobile sim.

The "Straight Talk" SIM is not sold in stores, as it is not a basic user friendly item. They are meant for users that have an advanced understanding on how cell phones work and are able to perform their own customer service. Your run-of-the-mill Wal-Martian does not have the intelligence to set up a cell phone, much less program one.

If the device is LOCKED to a particular carrier, you are going to need to rectify that with Straight Talk and Apple first.Second, and this is the tough one, Verizon is NOTORIOUSLY difficult when it comes to activating devices that did not come from them or Apple directly. I had this experience when trying to activate an unlocked iPad Air with them a few years back. It took me about two weeks and ten hours on the phone to finally get them to activate the device, and that was after signing an agreement that basically told me that if I have any problems with the device or the network, I am on my own.

I think you are confused. The sim card is different than the minutes card that has a pin number that you put on your phone to give you minutes and service days. The sim card should still be good to use. You can buy the minutes from Straight Talk or Walmart.com and reactivate your phone on Straight Talk.com. If the sim card does not work you can call Straight Talk and they will send you a new sim card. The sim card is in the phone. Can you switch your Straight Talk phone to Verizon?
No. Even if it's technically compatible with Verizon's Network (most are) the phone is SIM locked to Verizon's carrier ID. Much like in the days of 2 year contracts on postpaid, prepaid phones are sold well below cost and they are locked to prevent you from taking the device to another Network. If the phone has maintained consistent Straight Talk service for an entire year, you MIGHT have luck getting it unlocked, but even then there is no guarantee that it will work.
